Member@mrandrewaustria – i’d suggest a more positive approach over the above reply.
if you can reproduce the issue consistently (via bp-default theme and disabled third party plugins) – create a trac ticket with the steps/details. I doubt the main developers are looking downward on people reporting issues (why would they?)
if the crop/favorite actions are not working – sounds like a javascript issue
for email – there are several action and filters hooks to use and different ways (client side or extend a custom register page)

MemberI just installed WP3.3 & buddypress. Now when a new user register, he/she could receive an email activation link, but when they click, they were just directed to the “blog” page and not login.
So I have to activate their user status manually … anything wrong?

ParticipantHI Andrew,
I too am having issues, and had raised the issue of bugs, difficulty in installing the plug in, and questioned if the plug in was actually beyond beta. Apparently questioning of the app is not viewed kindly, and my thread was closed before anyone really addressed my concerns. I mention this only because you must be careful not to offend a few of the Buddy Press developers lest you too get cut off before you get your answer.
I’d suggest avoiding any question or phrase that might bring into question the functionality, ease of use, or bug state of the application.
Just sayin’

ParticipantThere’s also a great plugin for profile widgets:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-profile-music-widget/
Notice that when you get to the “widget logic” part in the FAQ, the only code you’ll need to use is `bp_is_user_profile()`
No need for the other part of the code written there.December 20, 2011 at 7:22 pm #126681In reply to: Changing HTML in current theme – WP Church Theme

Participanthttp://hanginout.info/activity is the page where activity/index.php is rendered – and it looks GOOD, success! – just needs some styling improvements. We need to remove the extra `>` in line above `
>` which should only be `
` my bad

Btw, the link you posted is handled in the /groups/ folder so that hasn’t been “fixed” yet.

ParticipantIf they were not picked up by your spam or junk mail filter then your webhosting may need an extra plugin.
See: BuddyPress isn’t sending out emails (eg. activation emails, email notifications) in https://codex.buddypress.org/troubleshooting/frequently-asked-questions/#register
and / or: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ (which has a useful debug feature)

ParticipantDid this issue happen only recently or has it always been like this since you first installed BuddyPress? What theme and plugins were you using when this first happened? I would at this point re-run Settings > Permalinks to year/month and Save Changes to “jog” the install.

ParticipantI’ve used BP Gallery, a premium plugin ($30) since early 2010.
There’s also the free BP Media plugin which you might want to check out. Per plugin info, beta version supports audio files, embedded videos, embedded images, etc. audio files, embedded videos, embedded images, and much, much more.
December 20, 2011 at 4:27 pm #126665@mercime
ParticipantKeep bp-default theme activated and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress, clear cache, run Settings > Permalinks and check posting in Activity Stream.

MemberCould you tell me which file relates to what under the defaultmemberssingle directory? What do the individual folders for each of the files contain, also, do I need to edit wp-profile or profile_loop.php in order to change the member profile?

Participantlet me clearly ask at least one question that would be very helpful in my knowledge and future development of how buddypress is working using AJAX.
How can I create my own loops and use them within the ajax filtering options on the main activity wall?

ParticipantHave you renamed your group slug to something else? I have renamed groups to classes on my site and that’s keeping it from working at the moment, hoping for a fix from the plugin developer.

Open up the header.php of your wp-church theme file and copy all. Go to pastebin.com and paste what you copied, click submit and post the generated URL here. Do the same for your index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.phpDecember 20, 2011 at 1:33 am #126638In reply to: Why can you not post in your own member area

MemberWhy wont the developers update the Buddypress.org site ? I hate to be a spoiler to peoples self indulging development activities but there are many people using BuddyPress that could use a working support organization. After all is it not free and open community ?

@mercime
ParticipantTo make your WP theme, Delicate, compatible with BuddyPress, you need to install and activate the BP Template Pack plugin then go through the BP compatibility process https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
December 19, 2011 at 11:41 pm #126635In reply to: Mentions not working from the notifications bar….

ParticipantWP/BP versions? It looks more like a plugin or BP theme which needs to be updated. First, change to bp-default theme and see if behavior is corrected. If that doesn’t work, try deactivating plugins to isolate whether the issue is with BuddyPress, BP configurations in dashboard or your with third-party add-ons.

MemberI installed a new WP and the only plugins i put up were buddypress and your theme. Did the same thing. Did you try putting in a sub-menu name with a character length like this? “testing this is the menu”
is there a limit to the length of letters due to a static bg? or should it draw the box as far as the sub-menu title?
thanks
