Thanks for the reply, i did post over at buddypress but did not get a response so i thought i would try here.

By Footer pages i mean i have created pages in wordpress called terms, privacy, about us, blog etc. and they oonly show up in the footer area of the site when i am logged in as admin, if you where to view the site now in the footer there is just a copywrite text in the footer.

Even if i type the URL of the page into the browser the page does not display it comes up with a 404 error. If i then log in as admin and do the same the page will display?

I hope i have explained it ok.

Thanks for the replies guys.

It’s my own dedicated server, and I run 10+ wordpress sites from it, so I’m sure it’s not a problem with the GD library (images a generated no problem). I also checked to make sure that php safe mode wasn’t enabled.

All current avatars fail to show, indicating that buddypress is looking in the wrong location (they have been uploaded). It fails at the upload, not the generation stage.

I’m sure it’s something to do with the transfer, as I’m sure buddypress would run fine on my server from a standard installation.

My new DOCUMENT_ROOT is /var/www/vhosts/paintballpimp.co.uk/httpdocs .. which is different from the other server, and I suspect this might be causing the problem. This value must be stored somewhere in the database or settings?

Is the default theme complete deprecated of SEO?

Sure Virtuali, if this post actually was about that exact plugin i would, but i just mentioned it as i heard about it somewhere, and my inquiry was about SEO, and not the plugin.

You should create a network (go multisite) https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network and resolve any issues at WP.org multisite forum https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite first.

Native would be hard to do for every BP site. Configurations are to different. WP app is the same for every blog. You can also use BuddyPress mobile if you want something more optimized.

Unfortunately, there is no option or plugin for this at the moment.

What theme are you using? Change to bp-default theme, keep all BP/WP plugins deactivated except BuddyPres. If that doesn’t solve it …

It means wordpress has run out of memory….

Ask your host to increase it. If they won’t ( for instance you host with 1and1 ) then look here and here

@mercime – yes, we had already had to adopt the solution of writing our own version of bp_core_add_settings_nav() – similarly to your suggestion.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t answer why bp_core_new_nav_default() doesn’t work with the settings menu.

@Gregfielding. you could use the CDN Sync Tool as well: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/cdn-sync-tool/.

BUT I would advise you to till install W3 Total Cache and simply disable all the caching functionality. It’s a matter of ticking a few boxes, and only enabling the CDN option. I have not tested the CDN Sync Tool, but the huge benefit of Total Cache is the inclusion of custom files to be served through the CDN:

This is the big trick on getting avatars/group-avatars and static files served with max speeds
