Mike
ParticipantSorry, yes. Should’ve clarified my answer above. Only one instance of BP per WP/MS like @mercime said.

@mercime
Participant=== my only activation option for Buddypress is a network install? Does this mean everybody that has their own site will also have a BP-powered site? ===
BP is Network install but that does not mean that each site owner will also have a BP-powered site. There is only one instance of BP in a multisite installation, it just gathers data network-wide.

ParticipantThat’s great news, how do I go ahead and implement the fix?
I downloaded the new buddypress zip and copied the bbpress folder to my ftp. After I reinstalled the forums component the /forums page is now showing but it’s broken, no adminbar and the css is not loading properly
Did I miss to copy any files or do I have to update any information inside any of the config files?regards

ParticipantCopy activity/index.php from bp-default to your child theme, and delete lines 12 – 14

ParticipantI have WP installed – but not multisite. I also have BP activated.
WP is installed on http://www.domain.com/wordpress/
The page I want to have the form on is http://www.domain.com/test.html or test.php
What do you mean with “Not sure what’s the cache on your site”?

ParticipantI find the same problem when I create a fresh installation on the same server. I also have this problem in another wordpress installation on the same server. There was a recent migration of files across to different servers. Is buddypress dependent on particular operating systems?

Yes, I tried that, but it does not seem to have any effect. Users still have the option to type and post something in the “What’s new…” boxMarch 10, 2011 at 7:26 am #107379In reply to: [Resolved] How to disable activity commenting

March 10, 2011 at 6:43 am #107376In reply to: [Resolved] Putting a forum on buddypress
@mercime
ParticipantThere’s the external bbPress integration with BuddyPress which is the tougher route and then there’s the internal bbPress integration with BuddyPress that’s built-in and tied in groups. The last time I ever did the external bbPress integration was in BP 1.1.2 and it took around 45 steps over a few hours because of some hiccups in integration along the way. Since then, it’s been internal bbPress integration all the way

Has both private and public chat. Looks like you need to pay if you want it to pick up buddypress usernames etc…

@mercime
ParticipantDeactivate BuddyPress and BP plugins. You have to resolve your multisite installation before installing/activating BuddyPress. https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite
Post what’s in your htaccess file here or at the other forum.

Hello,
Great Code, but it unfortunately doesn’t do exactly what I want to do just yet.
I am wondering if something is possible. I am trying to create a site that is private to all non-users and directs to a page stating it is Private only and asking them to contact me on directions to register (hopefully through facebook connect).In my site, on the left sidebar are the login fields and a FB Connect button.
However, I also do not want anyone to be able to register (unchecked “anyone can register” in the wp admin settings). I basically want to approve the user as they try to fully register.
Is this possible?I found, anytime I try using your code along with the register box unchecked, an infinite loop happens. I was also thinking, even if it did work, I’m still out of luck b/c I tried using the invitation code checker and that plugin doesn’t seem to work on the news BP and WP.
I also tried using the private BP plugin and that doesn’t seem to work with FB connect.
Any suggestions?

MemberIs there any plugin that allows admin to send an html email/message to all members? Sitewide Newsletters and BuddyPress Mass Messaging only allow plain text messages to be sent.

MemberHi
Just wondering if anyone knows when BP 1.3 is out? I’ve had this bug for sometime now, similar to the one described above for Portuguese. I’ve did all the manual DB conversions etc and the end result seems to be an AJAX Groups Buddypress bug: if I type an accented Irish charecter á é í ó or ú into anywhere in the groups area, it comes up strange eg Ãr instead of ár (within an AJAX content area with sub headings of HOME MEMBERS etc) whereas on my homepage (non AJAX) it seems fine. The intial thread was here https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/from-latin1-to-uft8-issues/
If 1.3 fixes this and is out soon it would solve a major problem for me. I have been delaying properly releasing this site due to this bug and was considering migrating to another social system as I heard Buddypress was no longer supported but if that’s not true and 1.3 fixes this I’d be happy to hold on a while.
regards
