MemberOkay, then, I have this half working. Is there a safe way to update a wp_bp_xprofile_data table then? I see I can pull out a bit of profile data with xprofile_get_field_data(‘field_name’,$userid)….is there one for update? that way I can keep this info synched from within my own plugin as well.

MemberNever mind, I see it now. It’s under bp-themes as the root folder.

Participant@mercime, I haven’t pinpointed the exact piece of code that triggers it to do this. This is not just an issue with the buddypress forums as other forum software have this issue also, thats why most of them have syntax highlighting for code whenever the code tags are inserted, as syntax highlighting safely puts code inside of the highlight, as of without it, the webpage will attempt to apply that piece of code inserted into the layout of the page. Same with CSS. Occasionally, there is something that clashes with both, so you get the screwed up layout. Example of adding CSS directly to page via code no syntax
Example CSS class through html implemented in forum post…
Why does it do this? I have no clue!

KeymasterThe theme lives in /buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default.
You *could* move out bp-default and put it into /themes/, for example.

ParticipantThank you @DJPaul. Haven’t experienced this behavior myself like @gunju2221 has. What’s the fix?
Cheers.January 14, 2011 at 6:24 pm #102847In reply to: Event Solution Recommendations?

Right now the API only supports getting the information, but eventually the API will let you post, delete and edit events, which will open up lots of possibilities for developers to interact with a Buddyvents installation.January 14, 2011 at 3:04 pm #102840In reply to: Event Solution Recommendations?

ParticipantMaybe a future feature would be “Syntax Highlighting” in the forums, because I get this too all the time in my forums.

Participant@overdrive I don’t if it may help you, but helped me:
function bp_core_avatar_url_fix() {
global $current_blog;// Get upload directory information from current site
$upload_dir = wp_upload_dir();// If multisite, and current blog does not match root blog, make adjustments
if ( bp_core_is_multisite() && BP_ROOT_BLOG != $current_blog->blog_id )
$upload_dir = ‘/wp-content/uploads’;return $upload_dir;
}
add_action( ‘bp_core_avatar_url’, ‘bp_core_avatar_url_fix’);January 14, 2011 at 8:21 am #102822January 14, 2011 at 7:53 am #102819In reply to: Event Solution Recommendations?

That’s not warnings, that’s me testing the API of Buddyvents (I’m the developer, by the way). What you see on the screenshot is actually a dumped query in JSON format, that your members could use to show events on their own website (doesn’t have to be WordPress).test.shabushabu.eu always runs the latest development version, so some warnings might show up from time to time (especially if I happen to test things), but the current version is stable.

Participant@iamsincere thanks! I’ll check that out and see what I can figure out. And yes, that’s exactly what I was talking about. Forcing Buddy to see Profile upon opening a member’s profile instead of their activity. And the same in Groups, forcing it to see the forum first instead of activity.
I’ll come back if I figure it out and let everyone know how it went.

ParticipantThis is because the code listed above has altered the page layout.

Moderator@hnla you are very right. I was just adding localization to plugins and then it was asked twice on here so thought I’d post it up.

ParticipantIf you’re running a multisite install with s2member, make sure you’ve enabled ‘Allow Open Registration’. You’ll find the setting under ‘s2member’ > ‘Multisite Config’ > ‘Multisite Registration Configuration’.
If you’re running a single site install, I’m not sure where that setting would be located in s2member, but it’s probably in there somewhere. Maybe ‘general Options’?

ParticipantOK. Ticket filed for suggested enhancement: https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/3007

ParticipantI’ve tried this every which way but sideways, but can’t get it working either in functions.php. Too bad, it would have made a sweet addition to the theme options.
As for reporting it; I don’t think it can be qualified as a bug. At most, an oversight. Maybe the utility of such a function hasn’t been brought to light until now?

MemberDid changing your settings work? I have the same problem, and changing the settings so that anyone can register didn’t fix the problem. I still don’t have a way for new users to sign up.
any advice?
