Hi can anyone help me out in this requirement…

By default, buddypress supports group creation process, I want to add separate plugin which overrides the default functions and works with my new customized steps and controls?

Is it possible to override default buddypress functions like bp-groups.php, bp-groups/bp-groups-classes.php, bp-groups/bp-groups-template.php

Topic: BuddyPress issue since upgrading WordPress

Last year, we built a site using BuddyPress: http://pinnacleclub.co.uk/

The issues started when we upgraded WordPress from 2.x to 3.3.1. We can’t roll back WordPress because the upgrade modified the database. Since this WordPress upgrade…

1. We have lost the ability as administrators to delete any messages. All delete buttons have disappeared.

2. We have lost the email notification settings so no one is getting any alerts in their in their boxes of new posts.

3. We are unable to view any replies to posts. For example in the For Sale & Wanted group a post has been added about T-shirts for sale. Someone in the club has written a reply but it is not visible. Old post replies have also disappeared.

4.The ‘Search these’ text has come out of the search box in the top right hand corner of the website

Has anyone else encountered such problems? Does anyone have any ideas as to how we may resolve this problem.

Any help massively appreciated.

This is great plugin as it helps in opening external links in a new tab, automatically puts a “no-follow” in each external link.

And the most important feature, It gives flexibility of adding a common prefix to any link. So it helps in tracking etc..

Problem :
It conflicts with buddypress same page action scripts/javascripts. Like it creates problem with “new topic button ” “share button ” “like button” and “favorite button. I am not getting what is creating this problem.

Please help me out with this…..

I’ve looked around the skeleton componenet a bit, and it seems manageable. Yet, this project has to be the best there is, so there may not be time for me to get familiar with this, sadly.

I’ll possibly drop you guys a line, with some more information, so that we’d perhaps be able to get an estimate.

Hello,
I’m new to WordPress and Buddypress.
I’ve installed Buddypress plugin but when I enter the customized website I don’t see any option for new users to register.
Also all the pages (activity, forum, groups..) seem to be missing and lead no where when I try to enter them.
What am I doing wrong

@mercime I have same kind of problem with registration form but mine is on the date picker for age it goes up to 2037 Paul said its difficult to fix this and I am kind of stuck can you please help?

Re BP 1.5.6 re “nobody can register” -> do be more specific by listing the steps taken during registration to find out where the hiccup is.

Re BP 1.6 beta 2 re “missing uploaded avatar” -> were avatars working in your BP 1.5.6 installation? Where are you hosted? Is GD libary installed in your server?

If you’ve deleted the six BP folders from thesecretworld theme folder in wp-content/themes/thesecretworld/ , when you go to Appearance > BP Compatibility, you should see “Making Your Theme BuddyPress Compatible” page (Step One) where the button “Move Template Files” could be clicked on to re-run the process.

If it isn’t happening for you, download copy of bp-default theme to your hard drive then open up the six BP folders mentioned above and make the revisions posted. After you’ve done with all revisions, manually upload via (s)FTP/FileManager/etc. the six folders from the bp-default theme as listed above. Make sure BP Template Pack is activated,

Hi, I have a WP install, with multisite in domain with BP multiblog and buddypress multinetwork so….

site1.com – main site buddypress
sub1.site1.com – buddypress subsite 1
sub2.site1.com – buddypress subsite 2
sub3.site1.com – buddypress subsite 3

Strange question, people tent to join at site1.com and can then access all the other sub sites, but how do people become members of sites, the directory shows all the sites, they can click to ‘visit’ but nowhere can I see join, my understanding, from the admin account who is a member of all the sites (as it created them) is that people could become members of multiple sites, seems they can become a member of multiple groups, but not sites??

Hi,

I love BuddyPress, but after installing it (with the default theme), my custom header image works great with every page of the site, but when I go to a single posts page (for example, http://bit.ly/MATea9) the custom header image disappears and is replaced by the default header gradient.

I have no idea what’s going on. The single post template still uses the same get_header() function as the rest of the site.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Frustration is my middle name! I simply want it to work with my theme and well. I even went to Freelancer for a bit of professional help and after 1 week and many different emails and time zones it is still not right, i gave up with programmer, gave him the money and wished him well. Is there someone who can quote to just get this to work as it is supposed to with the messaging and groups and forums and all the fance bits actually working. Currently its all a bit mickey mouse through no fault of plugin just my lack of knowledge .

To add your page to the main nav menu, visit Appearance.. Menus in wp-admin and configure your menu.

And finally, the other page you are seeing is just the standard 404 page (page not found), which contains a search form by default.

I assumed this would be an easy switch to turn on, but couldn’t find anything from a few searches.

I’m using buddypress – mostly the forum feature, and I want an email notification each time something is posted. (client request).

Any help would be appreciated – this is only admin emails I’m looking for.

Hello,

I’m trying to create a new top level page to show a Books Directory. By top level I mean right next to Home, Activity, Groups, Members, etc…

I go to Pages in the Dashboard, create a New one named Books and then I create a template file in my theme for it. I’m really new to BuddyPress so maybe this is not the way to go, but it seems to work so far.

In my template file I start by putting a title and a Search form. When I complete the search field and click the Search button I get redirected to the same page with the added parameter like this:

http://localhost/books/?s=The%20Gunslinger&groups_search_submit=Search

If the ‘groups_search_submit’ name seems odd is just because I copied it from the groups page.

Anyway, after the submit I get a Page not Found, still with the buddypress format and I still see the Search form, but instead of my title I get Page not Found.

Can anyone help me with this? I’m probably doing everything wrong here…

PROBLEM:
Basic Subscriber / Level 0 may create new forum posts, but is unable to read forum posts.

Plugins > Suffusion BP Settings > selected (Re)Build BP Files
Verified related Forum areas have no s2Member icon.
Reviewed s2Member General Settings and Restrictions and was unable to find anything that might be causing this…

TWO QUESTIONS:

(1) Is there a setting I need to change to allow basic subscribers to read forum posts?

(2) Beneath my forum avatar is my display name and “Key Master”. Where do I change the Key Master title? I have looked in my profile and am unable to find any custom settings to make that change.

Because no-one’s built one. That’s not a great answer because the question isn’t very specific.

BuddyPress 1.6 has better SEO built in, so hopefully that will go someway to address your concerns.
