I have a dedicated 64 bit single cpu server with 8gb ram running a 2008 server installation.
Server running wampserver.
On this we have a buddypress install.
Running forum and using the activity stream with a refresh plugin as a chat for our 30 members.
Also a couple of other plugins as twitter widget, wp super cache, system overview, buddypress mobile. Running the supermassive theme..
Server load is running sky high. 80-100% all the time. As we are upgrading our service and probably adding 200 more users we need to find out what is causing this load. Windows says that the httpd.conf that is loading.
Anyone have a clue to what i can do to get this fixed? I seriously cant think that the load is supposed to be this high.
Switching to the default buddypress theme does not correct this issue. Could this be some sort of issue when during an install maybe of buddypress? If so how would I do a clean reinstall and would this affect my existing content?

I just reactivated buddypress, did the update, followed the wizard and became in the last screen of the wizard the notification that I had not enough rights.
After that my admin login was a member login and I can not reach the admin panel/ dashboard.
What’s wrong that I should not have enough rights? and what to do so that I can prober login as the admin. (there is a login plugin on the homepage)

The top five are WordPress roles. The rest are from bbPress. BuddyPress doesn’t use them. I’m not sure what they do in bbPress.
Curious as to why http://buddypress.org/extend/plugins/ only shows the same 10 results, even though it says 406 total plugins.
I click the right arrow, I click the next page number http://buddypress.org/extend/plugins/2/ , I go to the URL and change /2/ to /3/ to /4/ and still only see the same 10 Plugins.
Are there truly 406 Plugins? I only ever see 1-10.

I have a buddypress site that was setup last year. With all the new features from both WP and BP, we’ve been looking into upgrading for some time. However we tried the auto update on a test site, and the member profile fields disappeared. Not sure what to do right now for our live site as we have 500+ member and cannot afford to mess this up.
Is there a specific way to upgrade or any known issues related to this? We are currently on
Wordpress version 3.2.1
Buddypress version 1.2.9

well, I use then multi-domains plugin from WPMUdev (yes there is a choice given in dropdown), but then I must comment out this in BuddyPress code, in order to get the multi-domains plugin to work.
the plugin works well without BP, so WP alone allow that, so I am not sure to understand “how can BuddyPress know what domains it could use?” I thought BP would use WP mechanism (on which the plugin act). I’m not at all a coder so that’s why I’m asking 
so is there any problem related to that (commenting out) that you could forsee? no problem for me to comment out? (except for the fact I will need to recomment at every upgrade)

I am using Custom Community Version 1.8.9.1 though, I’m switching from iBlogPro because I wanted to start using buddypress. The site at the front is an iBlogPro Theme but that function file is from the custom community theme.
You’re referring to commenting on Activity Stream updates and the like, right? Have you deactivated plugins except BuddyPress to see if issue is resolved? Have you re-uploaded BuddyPress plugin?

I am trying to add a jQuery script to my page. I am using the Buddypress default theme which seems to have the latest version of jQuery included.
I am then wanting to include a backgroundPosition.js script and a small script that handles an animation on my navigation items:

At the moment I have included the backgroundPosition script after wp_head(); in my header.php as follows:
and then I have the above script below this. jQuery and the backgroundPosition script are successfully included on the page, but I see no animation, as I do when I use this script on non-Wordpress pages.
Could someone advise as to the best way of getting this to work?

@nickbaer as original poster, you can mark (edit) this topic as resolved. Before activating BuddyPress in your permanent domain, make sure that your WordPress is working as expected. If you have any issues regarding the migration, do post at https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting
@thadman the code won’t work with your theme. You should contact theme developer (or use forums of iblogPro users) who has coded own custom menu and therefore is not using wp_nav_menu function directly to call the menu.

Having said this the function in the article isn’t returning my custom menu. I added if (!isset($locations[$menu_name])){echo "not found";} and ‘not found’ was returned. Any ideas on why this might be. I have double checked that the menu name is set correctly.
I’m scared to, because of the aforementioned multiple fatal errors.
I will ask my host for advice as to which of those fixes I have access to.
Is there a recommended BP Hosting service, with much of this already fixed ahead of time?

This is a Suffusion/BuddyPress pack plugin issue. Please bring this to the developer’s attention. However, BP 1.6 is not out yet so I’m not surprised Sayontan, the developer, hasn’t released any updates yet.
