Topic: Newbie..
I am new to buddypress so please excuse any obvious ignorance. We are trying to develop a Missions ‘Trips’ site that will allow Team Members of a Trip to post during their ‘Trip’. For “Followers” back home to then get notified that something new has been posted. The Trips would not be visible for the general public but only those who sign up to “Follow”.. So i guess we would need 3 levels, Admin, Team Member and Follower.
Anyhow any direction or input would be awesome..
Most importantly, I can’t find a search for the forums.. the search field above seems to search the entire site.. is there a Search for just the forum?
Also, is there a beginners page i can glean from?Hello everyone,
My website worked well for several months with budypress until these messages appear? neck, I tried to reinstall BuddyPress, but these are still present, the neck I can not do anything more.
Do you have a simple solution?

sorry about my english ….
I am in the process making a WP+Buddypress website, but I am a beginner in it. I want my website accessible only for logged in users. Everybody else will be directed to the welcome page, just like in the case of Facebook. I have read about the “is_user_logged_in()” command here:
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/redirect-non-authenticated-usersNow my problem is: the registration form in the case of Buddypress is being embedded in a page of BP theme, so even in the process of registration the elements of the theme are running so are the header.php with the redirecting, resulting making the whole registration process impossible.
Is there any registration plug-in existing for Buddypress which appears in a separate window without using theme (just like in case of basic WP)?

I just uploaded 2 or 3 pinterest like themes and was testing them…all of a sudden I get these errors and they remain on every page of my website even after I deleted these themes!these two errors are always there:

I tried to figure it out myself and I found that most if not all themes’ function.php files in my wordpress multisite are changed—the following code is added at the end of function.php.

The warning disappears once I delete the above codes but I have about 80 users using different themes on my site, do I have to delete that code one by one and is that the proper way?Another warning I get after trying those themes is the following:

I am using the default buddypress theme but am completely confused with the setup. I’m looking to make this as simple and easy to use as possible. This can be found at chiroonthego.com. As you can see I haven’t gotten very far. Can anyone suggest a tutorial that makes some sense of this please? I just want a central forum that may be divided up into categories and the ability for member to create profiles.Thank you
So…I logged back in several hours later, and all the pages now work. I didn’t touch anything. Did someone here hack into my site and fix something? Haha. Sometimes the interweb baffles me

I have WordPress 3.3.2 with Buddypress 1.5.5. I am using Oneall Social plugin to allow users to connect to my site http://AppSeeAppdo.com .
I would like to hide the top buddypress bar (buddybar?) to visitors. Once someone decides to Socially Log in via the OneAll Plugin (middle right Sidebar of the page), then the Buddybar should popup on top so they can navigate and track their activities, etc.
I saw some advice online but couldn’t figure out how to use them ::
This gets rid of it completely.. not what I want..
Also.. there’s a plugin Remove Buddypress Admin Bar ..that also removes it completely…
I want to remove it while someone is not logged in only..

Topic: How to Create new Blogs
Hi,
It is possible to create your own blog on my website, thanks to BuddyPress and multisite. But my members new registered blogs comes up in a whole new wordpress blog, with its own dashboard and possibility to chose a theme and everything. That’s great, but not what I want.
My question: Is it possible to have the blog “restricted” in any way? That is, they will only be able to post on their site, but not change the theme etc ?
I have numerous issues with my installed buddypress on http://lakasmuhely.hu and I cannot find answers to my questions anywhere. I am not a pro but I do have the time to research, however when I find literally nothing under the getting started section or can’t even search the forums on this site I just feel I should give up on buddypress. My problems so far:
– cannot upload avatar for a user although the first notification says it was uploaded successfully
– cannot properly see the “add friend”, “send message” buttons because they are too pale and can not be seen
– adding a friend prompts the “there was an error” message although adding friend happens allright

Hi, I have a website running bbpress and buddypress, first i had bbpress installed then later I installed buddypress now my problem is in wordpress i would like to set the default registration role to member but it doesn’t show member it shows:
administrator, editor, author, subscriber, contributor, forum moderator, forum participantI deactivated bbpress and it still doesn’t show the bp member role, and now new members who register on the website are not show on the bp members page, does anyone know how i can fix this?

wordpress 3.3.2 (single installation)I am running latest version of Buddypress and WordPress. Installation went smoothly. I opted to install compatibility pack and run the Amped child theme from Genesis. Everything seems to be set up properly. No errors or anything.
The default pages created by Buddypress are in place, and they’re assigned properly in Buddypress settings. There are two main problems:
1. When I visit any Buddypress page (/activity, /register, etc) I’m met with a 500 server error.
2. When I visit any user-specific Buddypress page (members/user-name/activity, members/user-name/profile, etc) I’m met with a page that says “oops this link appears to be broken”.The rest of the site is cool. Other pages in WordPress render just fine. There are no 500 server errors unless I try to visit a Buddypress page. Also, I have a custom 404 error page. It works when trying to visit a page that doesn’t exist. But when I try to visit a user-specific Buddypress page, it supposedly doesn’t exist…and the 404 error page doesn’t show up. I just get the “opps this link appears to be broken” error.
This all tells me there is something wrong with the installation, but I can’t figure out what’s up. I’ve tried disabling all other plugins, and I’ve gone in and resaved each page, but that hasn’t worked.
Any insight is much appreciated!

Hi. I’ve been using Woothemes Canvas Theme a long time but i now discovered that they have stopped supporting Buddypress in their themes.
Is there a workaround for this? Or do i simply have to choose another theme? In that case, can you recommend a good free Buddypress theme. And also a good e-commerce plugin. Is WP e-commerce the best?@sbrajesh created BP Multi Network
I am also running WP Multi-Network. On separate installations in the Activity Stream there is a tab for ‘All Members’, this tab shows a count of members that are on the entire network, not just the site that the user is on. I find this to be true across all of the Multi Network sites.
Is there way to get this tab to just show the users on their site?
