MemberPaul, in php.ini I have
`error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE`
Where do I change WP_DEBUG? Ok, found it and changed it to false: now I don’t get the warnings.Jeff, yes, I like MAMP, but also wanted to avoid creating lots of copies of Apache and php et al – and I want to run on port 80 anyway… And that wouldn’t have touched the WP_DEBUG… but if it saves me hours…

Thanks, guys!

ParticipantI gave up a long time ago rolling my own WordPress and BuddyPress installs directly on OS X. It was too much of a pain for very little benefit. I switched to using MAMP (the free version) and both install easily without issue.

ParticipantGood point if your logs aren’t being rotated you’ll end up running out of disk space completely, I forgot about rotating a log tried to open it in my editor to scan through, it editor wasn’t happy at all.

Participantbuddypress activity replies is not tied to wp commenting settings – all activity comments will post immediately.

KeymasterYou have a high level of PHP warnings, or WP_DEBUG, set. We are aware of these notes and will fix them for the next big release.

ParticipantDon’t be surprised if your log file is what’s taken up your space. Look through the folders and tell us what files are taking up the space and maybe we can help you more.

MemberOr I guess, could I strip out the header and footer in the BuddyPress template and create a Page Template in my main WordPress site that pulls the BuddyPress template parts into it???

Participant@hnla –

@clarki and @somethingforkaty – these are not BP issues but permalinks in WP. Go to your admin panel and set the permalinks. See step 3 here: https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/setting-up-a-new-installation/
Here is the information on “pretty” permalinks: https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks
Watch the .htaccess after permalinks set in /wp-admin

Couln’t recreate the error, Ekine. Just created an event on the test site and it worked as it should.@bowromir
Cheers, mate! Development cycle will slow down now a bit, though. I’ll spend more time now on my Jobboard plugin, to get that hopefully released within 2-3 weeks. Also, the mapping plugin will take up more time. Next major release of Buddyvents will probably be early December.October 26, 2010 at 12:19 pm #96537In reply to: BP components no show in secondary blogs

Edit: with the latest version of BP (1.2.6), the blog posts on the subblog now can appear on the activity, even though BP multiblog mode is active.October 26, 2010 at 11:46 am #96535In reply to: Just Installed – links aren’t working

I didn’t really understand your question? The type of map can be set in the backend, if you mean that.October 26, 2010 at 9:44 am #96527In reply to: Header image on network site

ParticipantThe pomo files you used were corrupted – po was not unicode compliant so the compiled mo file gives a wrong output.
The solution was to replace these files.
I found them here:

ParticipantI think the ‘afaik’ would need to be confirmed wouldn’t it? otherwise we are simply being asked to speculate based on little actual information.
What do you mean by ‘web folder space’ ?
Was this change apparent after an update to 1.2.6 or did it simply happen for no apparent reason.
Logs are always a good place to start looking for answers.
