We don’t claim compatibility with WP 3.3 with BuddyPress 1.5.*. I expect it ought to work, however. BuddyPress 1.6, which we’re still building, will be verified to work with WP 3.3

@FrattySratty You can customize the different profile fields on your dashboard>buddypress>profile fields. That’s all I know for now. Good luck!

Hi everyone, we have a little issue concerning the Reply button. With buddypress 1.5.1 the Reply button in the Activity stream and groups takes the user to a page not found http://……../reply/ any ideas how to resolve this?

I suggest that you find another theme or check with original theme dev if it will be upgraded to current BP 1.5. Contact tech support of your webhost and specifically check if there have been any changes with the mail function

Appears nowhere!!

I have tried creating a new multisite test site, fresh, without ‘enable multisite’ and without the theme I was using before. Latest version of WordPress, Latest version of Buddypress, Firefox browser… The settings for ‘welcome pack’ remains invisible

Hi. I’m not sure — I think you need to be running BuddyPress 1.5.*, and use https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-multi-network/

Everything is update. Something in the CSS file is wrong. Somewhere in the CSS file there should be a switch to set the placing of text off.

Tried..still no luck. But your comments are right.
When buddypress is inactive, I still have the same problem to go to blog posts and pages. That means core wordpress issue. It works with default setting, but doesn’t work with custom permalink setting. As most of the buddypress users have to use wordpress, does any one can point to me right settings ?

My WP & BP are installed in a sub-directory. I never had any problem until I testing the upgraded version.

@boonebgorges just in case it make any difference, I’m testing on multisite with sub-domains, and trying to activate buddy-press normally on main blog.

Hi, my user has a small (sub php.ini limit) file, and is a moderator in a group where all members can post. They can select the file and add descriptions etc, but when they click on submit the button disappears and the file is not uploaded. They’re using ie 9 on win7, and my setup is bp1.51 with wp3.2.1. Any ideas what could cause this? I can’t replicate the problem, even using that browser. Thanks in advance.

Deativate BuddyPress. Delete the “blog” slug in custom permalinks. Re-run Settings > Permalinks. You have to resolve permalink issues in WP install before activating BuddyPress.

Hi, I installed buddypress with no problems what so ever and everything is working great, except for the private messaging. When I send a new message to somebody, it sends ok, but I get the following error: ‘Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter – headers already sent (output started at /home3/indiegui/public_html/wp-content/themes/custom-community/_inc/ajax.php:527) in /home3/indiegui/public_html/wp-content/plugins/easy-contact/econtact.php on line 112’

Is there an easy fix, or do I need to find myself a different plugin for the contact page?

my versions BP 1.5.1
WP 3.2.1
Theme: Buddypress default theme. All other plugins are inactive
Permalink structure: Custom (/blog/%post_id%/%postname%/

Other than home page all other pages & posts are getting 404 not found error.
If I set permalinks to ‘Default’ then all pages opens up with no content, all posts shows up content. If I set permalink to any other settings both pages and posts gets ‘404 Not found error’. Same issue happened when I was even on BP1.5

“Not Found
The requested URL /stg/activity was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

I have Buddypress 1.5.1 and bbpress 2.0 and a MU site. We are still in the testing phase and I just began testing the group creation functionality. It seems to work fine except that it is not allowing me to upload an avatar for the group. It only has a previous and next button.

I have Disable Avatar uploads set to “no” in the set-up.

I have been unable to find anything in the forums about this issue. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

@djpaul, I have a WordPress multisite setup. I want to list ‘Groups’ and ‘Members’ specific to child site. That means, if I am in child-site1 and I click on Members it should list members of that child-site1 only. If I am in child-site2 and I click on Groups, it should enlist groups of child-site2 only. Could you please tell me if it is possible and how can I do that?

In other words, I want groups created in one subsite would not be visible or accessible in other subsites. Is it possible? How can I do that if it is possible?

Howdy,

First off, really digging BuddyPress. it’s going to help me a lot with my fansite, but I’m trying to figure out how to add two custom fields to the default group creation.

Since it’s going to be a fansite, the two custom fields I need added are:

URL field – So that the group creator can link to an external website
Required Check Box – so they can select a type of group they are creating (ie. Football, Baseball, etc.)

Right now, the only fields used for group creation are “Group Name” and “Group Description”. Is it even possible to add more fields for them to fill out before the group can be created?

I have no idea where to start. Not sure what it entails but not really looking to add another plugin to the site.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
