ParticipantHi David, I have been very busy with a deadline at the office. Now with 1.1 out I am re prioritizing working on the BASE code for bp-events 1.1. Some stuff will need to be updated to reflect the gazillion bug fixes in BP 1.1. Eventhough it seems to work fine on my install, I will create another local install to see where it is at with the official BP 1.1.
My task has been really to port over the basic events functionality as a service to the community. Erwin will continue on this port and extend the features as he wishes. The biggest part that is not included with the current port is the directory view, since that was still in flux when I started porting so I left it till matured.
Give me some time as I also have another major plugin (group blog) that needs reworking of the code. However as I said, my aim is to help build a stable release for a bare bones bp-events 1.1. That is the most important task, upon which new features can be build.
Make sure to read the readme of the trunk as installation will be different and more compliant with buddypress methodology of installing plugins versus wpmu.
So…just a little more time or help is always appreciated

Jeff Sayre
ParticipantThat’s the proper attitude!
The forums are their own, separate plugin. I’ve already clearly explained the reasons why this component will not provide bbPress forum privacy filters. You are free to use any bbPress privacy plugins that you want. Perhaps in the future this will change, but right now, it will not be an option.

ParticipantNetwork Parent Theme sounds like a custom, 3rd-party theme to me. The default parent/child BP themes are bp-sn-parent and bp-default.
Make sure that you have enabled the BuddyPress default theme in the “Site Admin > Themes†menu and then activated the BuddyPress default theme in “Appearance > Themesâ€.
If you’re still having issues, read the second linked to thread in my post above.

ParticipantIt’s sad to hear that the forums won’t be part of this. I’ll just keep on allowing no one into the website who isn’t a member. Thanks a lot anyway!

MemberI keep trying to select the Buddypress default theme and it says settings saved but the page then reverts back to showing the Network Parent Theme 1.1 as the default one. Is this correct?

ParticipantI can answer my own question by now..When I was struggling to get the new themes going I moved an empty bp-thems folder back to its original location.
This was causing buddypress to look for the old theme setu which was not there..
Hoppe this is of any help for others

ParticipantYep definitely. Unless I’m supposed to upload the contents to that location and not the folder.
Just to be on the safe side, I checked out and downloaded the latest alpha version and used it and I also just upgraded BuddyPress automatically.

ParticipantYou are either using an outdated 3rd-party plugin, a outdated custom theme, or need to update your own custom code to v1.1. The function get_edit_html() has been deprecated.
If you are using a 3rd-party plugin or theme, you should contact the developer and ask when they plan on updating it. If it happens to be the old, xprofile privacy plugin (which depended on that function and a core hack to work), then please read this thread.

Please check with the plugin author, Manoj Kumar. He has been waiting for v1.1 to come out before updating the plugin.

ParticipantDo you maybe have conflicting plugins within the mu-plugins direcctory? Because those are working in the background without being visible on the plugin page.

ParticipantIt bases on the skeleton component for buddy press that is not compatible with 1.1. Andy said he’ll fixed it: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/bp-11-rc-compatible-with-skeleton-component-122

Participant3) Backup, backup, and backup. Try it, if not working, then return it back.
4) I don’t think there’re posts on the forums. BuddyPress doesn’t have theme options as in other themes. You have to edit it. Use Firefox/Firebug to find what to edit.

ParticipantThere was a post where Any suggested to use bp-custom with just one line. I saw it yesterday, but can’t find it now. Why don’t you check documents if there’s entry on this?

MemberHi here,
We experience this kind of issue with the last RC of Buddypress 1.1, here is the error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method BP_XProfile_Field::get_edit_html() in /home/casualgames/www/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-xprofile/deprecated/bp-xprofile-deprecated.php on line 446
Any idea?

KeymasterUltimately this is a theme design decision and you can customise it yourself in a child-theme.
