    Sorry, Burtadsit, but can you break this down a bit more for the truly moronic like me? I’m having the same problem and I have installed vipers-video-quicktags which is nicely displaying all the various video icons in my visual editor. It is working correctly, but when the post is saved the code disappears as above. Now you say it’s a security hole. I don’t want to open up something bad, but I do want to easily add video to my posts. I don’t want to do anything with the forums.

    Is this the entire code I put in a bp-custom.php file?:

    function my_allowed_tags($allowedtags){

    $allowedtags[’embed’] = array();

    return $allowedtags;

    }

    add_filter( ‘edit_allowedtags’, ‘my_allowed_tags’ );

    I’m confused as why you mentioned bp-forums.

    And again, I really don’t want to open up something bad. What are the implications of adding this?

    Thanks in advance. I know I ask pretty dumb questions.

    Hi

    This is my first BuddyPress site, http://club.consciousvibe.co.za and I’m having trouble creating a new user account.

    After I enter all my details in:

    http://club.consciousvibe.co.za/register

    and click submit.

    The site reverts back to the page, the text:

    “Please check your email address”

    appears above a red background and:

    I’m asked to

    “Please check your email address.”

    But I never get any email, and a user is not created in the backend either. Can you tell me what my error is or where I’ve overlooked something?

    ok so i reinstalled buddy press + wordpress mu both latest versions.. buddypress from trunk and wpmu from branch.

    When i created my admin account the blog page for the buddy press home themes shows the hello world default first post in the blog page perfectly.

    When i create a new blog as admin or a normal user the buddypress home theme blog page shows no posts… just a link saying Edit this entry. i tried creating a new post still no show only one link to Edit this entry.

    When i switch to the wpmu classic theme the posts show.

    ive put the buddy press home theme in the default theme folder … so wpmu uses it as the default.

    any ideas ?? thanks

    Hy everyone!

    I have latest trunks of wordpress mu, buddypress, bp-dev and signup-password plugin from premium.wpmudev.org.

    The plugin doesn’t work. I have the password fields on my registration page but it still generates a random password on activation.

    How can i make it work?

    I succesfully installed WPMµ ( beta 2.7-r1722), BuddyPress (trunk r1324), the forum Bbpress (1.0-alpha6), and the BuddyPress Group Forums plugin (last version 0.35 I think), everything seemed to be OK (amazing ?!), once I imported groups in the Bbpress admin/bpGroups.

    But this morning I turned a group Public to Private, but it remains Public in the Bbpress Forums frontend.

    Also, when I rename a group forum in BuddyPress, the name is not edited in Bbpress.

    I noticed that when I Import Groups another time in the bpGroups admin of Bbpress, details of groups like Public/Private/Hidden is updated, but not the name.

    So, is it a bug, or normal, or it happens only to me and that would means I missed something in my config perhaps …?

    Thx to help me :)

    I would LOVE to start getting some feedback on the site I am currently creating (still in beta) called Modelrific™. It is a modeling and photography community.

    http://www.modelrific.com

    username: test

    password: test

    (You’ll need these just to see the page, as I have it server-side protected)

    You can log in to the actual site using:

    username: testuser2

    password: testuser2

    Please let me know what you think!

    Is it possible to have a buddypress as private?

    If so, how do i create the social network to be completely private? in otherwords, the homepage will have a log in / password spot and a sign up area that will require an email responder based on an approval process, and thats it. Once we have approved the user, they can log in and it opens up the network.

    Thanks,

    I think you missed it :)

    bp-messages/bp-messages-templatetags.php on line 427:

    value=”Send Reply »”

    I think it should be,

    value=”<?php _e(“Send Reply »”, ‘buddypress’) ?>”

    Just a little request :)

    Rather than using SVN, an alternative method to get wpmu 2.7.1 beta or the buddypress trunk is to download the zip versions from the bottom of these pages:

    http://trac.mu.wordpress.org/browser/branches/2.7

    http://trac.buddypress.org/browser/trunk

    Download in other formats:

    Zip Archive

    Browsing to those locations gets you the most recent versions of either package.

    In wp-login.php, I have found the following line of code (around line 470) ….

    I want to redirect the user to their profile page, so I changed it to …

    I would highly recommend that you stay away from hacking core WPMU files. You’ll have to make the changes all over again the next time you update WPMU.

    This is the way you should do it: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=1095

    How can I change the wp-login page to include my site\’s logo instead of the WordPress logo? Is this possible?

    http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/rebranding-wordpress-mu

    By the way, you may receive faster responses in the future if you ask WPMU questions on the WPMU forums and ask BuddyPress-specific questions on this forum.

    Well, I assume you do your WPMU updates by deleting everything from the WPMU folder–with the possible exception of certain files / folders in wp-content? If so, then just delete again and start over.

    Also, read this thread ( https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=2065 ). Although not everything applies, there are important upgrade tips and instructions. Make sure you read / browse the entire thread.

    no i havent installed wpmu 2.7.1

    You must be running the latest branch of WPMU to use the trunk of BP 1.0_RC2.

    Did you read this thread? https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=1994

    Just to add my 2 cents,

    I’m using Eclipse as my IDE, and have had great luck with phpeclipse and subclipse. Because eclipse is java based it is cross platform, for the ide and plugins. I have used this setup on both a Ubuntu system and my Current Mac.

    I have 3 projects currently “checkout out” the Buddypress trunk, the WPMU trunk, and my private svn for personal development. This allows me to look at source code for everything. I only have submission permissions on my private svn, which is probably good.

    On my server I can also use the command line and checkout the files and copy them into the required directories.

    Hopefully this inspires someone,

    Brad

    i tried to upload the buddypress home theme to the default folder so it will be chosen as the default theme but it gives me an error.

    Warning: require(BP_PLUGIN_DIR/bp-core/bp-core-signup.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/kimbula0/public_html/tribe/wp-content/themes/buddypress-home/functions.php on line 70

    When i upload the theme to buddybress-home and user tries to select the theme they get the same error.

    But as the admin from my account i can select the theme with no issue … what could be wrong ?

    i tried to create a new blog myself and set the theme but it doesnt work .. gives the same error .. works fine for the accounts i created yesterday its weird. ..
