ParticipantYes I could see that on inspection as I mention above it’s likely the issue, how that has happened only you can know something changed but not possible for us to guess at what. You’ll need to edit that template file by the looks of things and move the closing div to a point after the BP content – use one of the other BP pages as a guide.

ParticipantSorry about that, I am new to the community. My apologies.
All of my other pages content has wrap tags around it to format it.
<wrap> content here </wrap>It has been like this out of the box.

ParticipantA little too soon to bump!
What’s a ‘wrap’ ?
You don’t really provide any details so no, haven’t really got a clue how you’ve ‘lost’ something.
What were you doing? What changes did you make? I can see that you have an element ‘.wrap’ that closes before BP content which on other pages looks to enclose content so that’s probably your issue, but how that has happened only you can figure out.

ParticipantHello.
I’ve installed buddypress and the only error given was that related to bb-config.php location, but i cancelled bp-forums because i don’t need it.
My problem is that i can’t create groups.
I have the groups section, i’ve even installed groups pages plugin and still can’t do it.
On my profile page it showes me group section also but still can’t create groups.
I have other questions related to buddypress but i realy need to get somewhere with this one first.June 14, 2013 at 11:49 am #166040Sven Lehnert

ParticipantNo further references to attitudes and responses please otherwise I’ll close the thread.
Switching to another theme is always possible, if not you have a problem with your WP install not BP plugin. WP needs to function fully and correctly before adding any plugins like BP. You may now be better off re-installing WP and starting over?
Registration is a WP function so ensure it is enabled in settings>general
Permalinks are important, you must be able to set anything other than default ‘?p=’ type permalink structure for BP to work (don’t think this is an issue though)

Participant@mercime – I was able to get the plugin reinstalled. When I go into the settings for bp there is no page set for register. So, I just created a new page and called it “sign up” and assigned it to “register” and when I press view I just get the home page. Still no registration form or anything buddypress related.

Participant@bp help – please read your comment and realize how it addresses nothing, and in no way uses deductive reasoning to try and come to a solution, which is the point of a forum. Rather you come across as arrogant and condescending and in no way helpful.

ParticipantWaiting for asnwers.
And did you do as I suggested and contact the theme author? I note you gloss over my comments.
You reference a second screen shot yet I see none? When I visit those links you’ve added I see no registration page, just a page that has no content being generated just empty markup elements, the site does not look as though it is running BuddyPress, have you de-activated for some reason?
You need to provide clear links to the issue if you want help, but as I said earlier the BP support forum is not aimed at dedicated custom theme support so help will be limited.

The form is working fine. The problem is that, as you can see in the screenshot, the form should be included in that white box. ( Registering for this site is easy …..)
Ok, for you guys to understand better what I want to mean:
HOW IT IS NOW:
HOW I WANT IT TO BE:(here is zoomed out to see the whole page)
P.S.: In the second screenshot (how i want) I inserted an height:500px style in my browser so I could make a screenshot. (that isn’t real, it’s only me that I can see it, so it doesn’t really fix the problem).
My wp version:3.5.1
Buddypress version: Version 1.8-beta1 (I also tried the 1.7.2 from the wordpress>plugins but has the same problem)
Register link: roleague.tk/inregistrare
Activate link: roleague.tk/activare
Members: ../membrii
Activity:../activitate
And, as you can see, this problem is just on the register page..
Are these details enough? If not, tell me what to add. Thanks. Waiting for asnwers.June 14, 2013 at 4:44 am #165995In reply to: [Resolved] Adding new Profile Tab loses style (1.7)

ModeratorSounds like a defect in BuddyPress. So your saying after you click activation link in email and try to login using sidebar login form it says activation key is invalid?

Not sure I understand you correctly so I will offer some advice. Even if having multiple user profiles under one email was possible your site would become spam heaven so I would highly advise against this. Are you sure you don’t mean adding a new field group which is already possible?

Thank you for the advice @mercime. I now have a dev buddypress to play with.
XAMPP worked fine once I removed IIS and other things which were causing conflicts.

Participant@hunchback since we don’t have specific info about what your site is really about, recommend that you check out plugins which are tagged BuddyPress (BP-friendly) to find the right match for your site https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=buddypress
You can find more information about BuddyPress components and features at https://codex.buddypress.org/
Good luck.

Participant@dswd in a section of the same codex page you linked to, https://codex.buddypress.org/user/buddypress-components-and-features/member/#member-settings > Notifications listed there are what you would expect in site and via email (unless you disable portions or all). I’ve added a line in the Notifications section to include site notification.

Participant– Updated from what WP/BP version to what version?
This isn’t a “real” update, it’s a new theme laid over an existing site. I began by porting the existing database over to a test server. I then updated WP/BP and all plugins used from there.
– How does new registration “break” the site? White screen or 500 error? What shows up in your error logs?
As stated above, when a new user registers, as soon as the form goes through, most pages of the site break. They are truly random. Sometimes its the activity page, member directory, or even a simple contact us page that’s not tied to BuddyPress.
On the test server the page serves a blank index.php template (no content in the content area) with a title bar that says “Not Found”. On the production server, it goes straight to the typical GoDaddy 404 with the silhouettes.
– What random pages show up 404? Pages created in Pages > Add New or BuddyPress pages?
Both
– How did you install WordPress – via webhost one-click install or did you upload WordPress
As stated in this post, the database was ported over. Home and Site URLs were changed and recommended WP script for find/replace to change URLs was used.
I’m less concerned with the production server, since both serve the same error. What I’d like to know is if porting over the database may have screwed things up. To further explain, I basically took the WP user and BP tables and merged them into a virgin WP database. I continued building the site and it was “good to go” for launch, and then realized this bug.

speaking of spam, what do you think of the sandbox idea I shared here?
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/idea-stopping-spammers-with-sandbox/since you have the knowledge and experience writing plugins, can you comment on how feasible it is? could you write it?
