ParticipantJust throwing a post up to stay in on the loop on this one.
I’ll probably be trying moebis’ hack out. I can understand there may be performance issues relating to scalability (10 groups with 10 subforums = 100 subforums + 10 toplevel group forums), but this seems to meet my requirements for the time being
It’s good to see the bbPress team are already working on it, so hopefully they’ll have it sorted before I encounter any performance issues.
Anyway, I’m sure to do a heap of testing before I transfer my existing community.

ParticipantServer plugin still shows 0.2.2 so new update won’t be available, just delete the old version and reinstall the plugin.

KeymasterSorry to hear that you’re experiencing problems, Famous.
It’s working for me.
This is what I have in `wp-content/themes/twentytwelve/buddypress/buddypress.php` to remove the sidebar on profile pages, but have it show up on all other pages:
This will remove the sidebar on profile pages, but you’ll still need to adjust the CSS so the content is full-width.

ParticipantSo that didn’t work either as the code shows up incorrect, however it did lead me in the right direction:
“which worked for me, so thanks. This worked as well:
`.bp-user #content {}`
however not in the intended /buddypress/buddypress.css, but it did work in:
the childTheme/styles.css
So thanks. I am guessing not too many users are actually using 1.7 as it was intended because there would be a lot more problems with this.

Marcio batista
ParticipantUser error mention corrected!
“Warning: sprintf() [function.sprintf]: Too few arguments in
…/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-activity/bp-activity-notifications.php on line 95”The problem is that the error is the translation.
1= To check, remove translation of his country.
2= Back BuddyPress original translation.
3=Try a mention again.
4= If it does not error, returns translation of his country.
5= Look at this line in the file. Po translation: “%1$s mentioned you in an update:\n\n\”%2$s\”\n\nTo view and respond to the message, log in and visit: %3$s\n\n———————”
Compare with the translation of his country. Mine was wrong. And now shines BuddyPress!Greetings to all!

Participant@billy-not-happy I wrote the instructions for https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ You mentioned that the instructions were not clear enough and brought some confusion, so please feel free to post some more ideas on how we can improve the article, in addition to what you already posted above. Than you.

ParticipantIt is a WordPress MU install in Root. Buddy press is not on site ID 1, but on a member blog per the instructions here https://buddypress.org/support/topic/question-about-installing-buddypress-on-a-subdomain-of-multisite/
Everything is mostly running right, but I can’t figure out why only 1 activity item is showing. (Avatars are not showing on any other site but the buddypress site)
The sites are http://psbmx.com and http://psbmx.com/community
Thank you so much for your help!

@mercime
Participant@e9designs prior to BP 1.7, Genesis themes required to install premium Genesis Connect plugin for compatibility with BuddyPress. Not sure if this is still the case at this time. Please contact theme provider if you no longer require Genesis Connect plugin or if there’s a new version.
As for the forums, since you have bbPress Genesis Extend plugin which is required for integration, please also contact plugin author for assistance.

Participant@xsn0w please clarify what you mean by:
3. If a directory install, is it in root or in a subdirectory? Root, BP is in subdirectory
Do you mean you gave WordPress its own Directory per this webpage? If so, BP is not going to work well there. See https://codex.buddypress.org/user/before-installing/#system-and-server-requirements
If not, then you do you mean there’s a WP install in root and you created a physical subdirectory, installed WP and BP there?
April 12, 2013 at 11:02 pm #161487bp-help
ParticipantThere is lots of individuals that specialize in BP/WP. I don’t endorse companies because some may be great at design yet fail at web development. Not saying there isn’t any out there that perform equally well at both. You may want to put in detail what your looking for on the job board because most likely no one will quote you a price until they have this info and you agree on the terms.

Keymasterhnla is absolutely correct.
You can place `buddypress.php` in the `buddypress` subdirectory.
You can treat `buddypress.php` like any other template.
So what you want to do is do a conditional check to see if you’re on a profile page.
Since you only want to show the sidebar on non-member pages, you could use the following code snippet:
`<?php if ( ! bp_is_user() ) { get_sidebar(); } ) ?>`
This snippet should replace the `get_sidebar()` line in your `buddypress.php` template.

ParticipantJust a heads-up that I have changed the authentication system to use passwords instead of api keys – WordPress client does the same, and it cuts out a large part of the hassle of registering, not to mention “what could go wrong”. Now you just input your password in preferences and then return to the main screen. Shouldn’t take more than that.
To use the latest version of either the server or BuddyDroid, you must upgrade both – the server is at 0.4 and BuddyDroid is at 2.0
Sorry for the inconvenience.
