Yes use the buddypress default theme. That should have been a prerequisite to troubleshooting if it was just an isolated theme issue or a buddypress issue.

Okay after alot of trial and error I came up with this and it will do what you stated above. First I hope your using a child theme. If so go into the style.css and add this line:

display: none !important;
}
`
That will rid you of that “All Members” tab.
Next follow my instructions in this link and adjust it to your version of buddypress because the directory structure is different but it shouldn’t be much of a problem. Here is the link:

But why it is said the theme I use is compatible to run buddypress in wordpress.org themes option?

I’m using a child theme of Evolution and put all the 6 folders and sidebar-buddypress.php header-buddypress.php in the Child theme folder – it seems to work but is this the best practice?

@pdillon809 the elemnts have been stripped and replaced from this page in above codes when changes were made to this site. In addition, there might have been some changes to the theme.

Two choices:

1. Open up your theme’s header.php, copy content, post on pastebin.com, click submit, and post the generated URI here. Do the same for footer.php, index.php, page.php and sidebar.php and I’ll go over the theme again and post the solution.

2. If you have a new installation, you can download BP 1.7 beta 1 https://buddypress.org/2013/02/buddypress-1-7-beta-1/ and install it. Deactivate BP Template Pack plugin and delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your theme folder in server. Unless the theme author has completely rewritten the WP templating system, you’ll find that the BP template files will automagically show up in your site. Some usual BP Settings configurations and some CSS tweaking and you’ll be good to go.

the fix is for BuddyPress theme, not for WordPress themes 😉

Profile field links search members. It will not create a filtered activity stream. This can be accomplished with custom coding.

You’re not alone. The current version and the way to combine buddypress with forum is difficult as I found out with several people new to wordpress+buddypress.

In my testing, the next version of buddypress and bbpress is much easier.

How would I go about grabbing the geotag in the exif data? Does BuddyPress Media do that already? The reason I could not get buddypress media to work for me is because it doesn’t give me upload photo button on the posts? Or maybe it does and I don’t know how to use it. Maybe you can help with my questions. My Ultimate goal is so I can upload a picture and the put it on a map(like google map.
