Participant@tormorten Check if the hidden group was recorded in your database
– wp_bp_groups list of groups created with ID assigned to each
– wp_bp_groups_groupmeta with ID of your hidden group, you’ll see date group created, if has forums etc.If recorded in DB, WP/BP versions? Since the issue with that hidden group you created, have you been able to create a new hidden group which is visible to site/super admin in front end and back end? Can you provide steps so that we can recreate the issue? i.e., theme/plugins activated, server environment, etc.

ParticipantHi @offthepage,
Put this into bp-custom.php or in your child theme functions.php
This is only an example ! Don’t forget to change group names and tabs name to your needs.
Just add/remove a case into the switch for each group you want to modify.function bpfr_custom_group_default_tab($default_tab){ /** * class_exists() is recommanded to avoid problems during updates * or when Groups Component is deactivated */ if ( class_exists( 'BP_Group_Extension' ) ) : // $group=groups_get_current_group();//get the current group if(empty($group)) return $default_tab; switch($group->slug){ case 'kill-bill': // group name (slug format) $default_tab='forum'; break; case 'another-group': $default_tab='members'; break; case 'group-test': $default_tab='admin'; break; default: $default_tab='home';// the original default landing tab break; } return $default_tab; endif; // end if ( class_exists( 'BP_Group_Extension' ) ) } add_filter('bp_groups_default_extension','bpfr_custom_group_default_tab');July 23, 2014 at 12:54 pm #185461In reply to: [Resolved] Profile pages / setting pages 404

Participant@mercime I’m trying to keep it within the same theme of the rest of the website, so I just want it to be in a subdirectory folder. I initially thought the problem was I needed a multisite, but then I would need to install a new theme and have new settings right?
For my subdirectory I created the /community page and I just wanted the buddypress and bbpress plugin to consider this the home page. Then everything else would be created underneath it, like /community/members, /community/forums/forum etc. It’s a business website so I need product pages off the root, keeping the forum contained to one portion of the site.

ParticipantSince I got absolutely NO HELP FROM ANYONE on this forum… I found the resolution myself!!!
Do you have WP_DEBUG set to ‘true’ in your wp-config.php file? Make sure that’s false.

Participanthi @rukiax
have you tried to activate another theme ? You’re actually using bp-default, and BP 2.x doesn’t use it by default.
You have probably missed a setting somewhere, because the profile link is blank:
http://daklub.tk/members/rukia/
When going to
http://daklub.tk/members/
wich normally shows the members directory, we go to the forum (accordingly your breadcrumb)
Home › Forums › MembersIn any case, you have to create a page called members, for internal purpose only. If this page doesn’t exist you can’t see memebers directory and profiles correctly.
I suggest you to deactivate BP & bbPress, than activate Twenty Fourteen, redo your BP settings and permalinks and finally reactivate bbPress and set it as site wide forum.
Forget bp-default, or if you absolutely want it, read here the chapter about legacybbP is now 2.5, but you can also read here:

Participant@mercime Gosh! That is amazing! every forum or help discussion I would find talked about finding and locating the code, etc. You’re a genius! Thank you!

@mercime
Participant@joshjackc Deactivate the bbPress forum plugin by going to admin menu Plugins > Installed and click on the “Deactivate” link. Messaging and Status/Actvitity Streams are BuddyPress components, not bbPress.

ParticipantI also have this problem running WordPress 3.9.1, BuddyPress 2.0.1 and BBPress 2.5.4. It’s only been the case since I moved over to BBPress for forums.
I’m happy to help anyone who’s trying to fix this apparent bug.

Participantyes, I’ve done troubleshooting and searched the support forums with no luck.
@airfieldnotes RE BP Default theme http://bpdevel.wordpress.com/2013/11/13/the-future-of-the-bp-default-theme/ so at this point that theme is not the standard you should be looking at.I’ve created some extended profiles
Sanity check: you created those via Users > Profiles, right?

ParticipantSorry, WordPress 3.9.1, Buddypress 2.0.1, using BP default and Magazine Basic Themes. And yes, I’ve done troubleshooting and searched the support forums with no luck.
Thanks for the tips.July 16, 2014 at 7:00 am #185164In reply to: Group page commenting is not working
@mercime
ParticipantI’ve tested this against all my other plugins and themes and it seems to just be happening on this theme (called buddyboss).
@jono_39 Sorry to learn that you’re having that issue. It’s great that you took the initiative to troubleshoot and identify the cause. I can only say at this point that the best place to find resolution would be at the premium theme author’s forums because we do not have access to the theme.July 16, 2014 at 6:47 am #185163In reply to: How to Delete the BUDDYPRESS account

Participant@jarith Marking this topic as resolved.
As to removing the “Private” and “Protected” prefices, you could try adding bbPress forum conditional to your function or to the one Konstantin (first comment in that post) posted
e.g.if ( class_exists('bbPress') ) { if ( is_bbpress() ) { // do this } }Undoubtedly, you’ll get additional support at the bbPress forums 🙂

ParticipantThank you! You reminded me of some code that I had inserted into functions.php to try to hide the ‘private’ prefix that would show up on forums that were marked that way. I had found the code below on another forum.
Now I just have to figure out a way to still hide the prefix and not repeat this again.
function the_title_trim($title) {
$title = attribute_escape($title);
$findthese = array(
‘#Protected:#’,
‘#Private:#’
);
$replacewith = array(
”, // What to replace “Protected:” with
” // What to replace “Private:” with
);
$title = preg_replace($findthese, $replacewith, $title);
return $title;

Please delete the BuddyPress folder from wp-content/plugins/ in your server.
