ParticipantI was successful at doing this. You can read about the results here on the forum.
I would suggest starting this kind of thread on the “How to/troubleshooting” topic, not this thread since it’s all about showing off the finished product.

Participant@flyveren Is it possible to make this work without using a div container? The problem is when users post video embeds in my forum they won’t know to add that extra code.

Participant@bp-help, I posted here not for a fix, but to simply inform everyone. I also took the liberty of posting on the author’s support forum at the same time. I went one step further and posted an FYI to WPMUDEV (since I’m a paid subscriber there).
@shanepbdev, I noticed that in the activity table and ignored it because since my site is in development, I planned on purging that table any ways. Thanks for the info though 🙂
Hopefully the developer will either display some kind of warning or include such tables as part of the process.
Cheers,

ParticipantAh, never mind I’ve solved it. I needed to edit the bb-config-location value in wp_options an change the database settings in bb-config. Working now.
Please mark as “resolved”.

This plugin is not tagged BuddyPress so I think it would be more appropriate to post it on the authors support forum here:
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/better-wp-security
Maybe ask the author to update it for use with BP and tag it appropriately afterwards.August 7, 2013 at 12:05 pm #169515In reply to: Register page not working URGENT help needed

ParticipantPlease can someone help with this, or at least put me in touch with a developer I can contact to pay to fix this?
Two more points:
I am using theme rt_tachyon_wp. In its wp-content folder in rt_tachyon_wp there is a folder called buddypress_off. Inside are folders: activity, forums, groups, members. Should there be any more?
In the buddypress folder in default them is a registration folder and inside that is a register.php and activate.php
This has been updated to WP 3.6 and BP 1.8.1
Can I switch themes on my live site without breaking it to see if it is a theme and then switch back afterwards?
Please help. Thanks, Mike.

I really appreciate your quick reply.
Now I’m using buddypress default theme. I changed the theme to Twenty Twelve theme & Twenty Eleven theme and re-installed buddypress and bbpress.
I tested with these 4 themes(buddypress default theme,Twenty Twelve theme,Twenty Eleven theme, Onecommunity theme),
but unfortunately same result.
After resolving this problem, I’m expecting to use Onecommunity theme as the client requirement.Thanks

@mercime
Participant@chathuranga What theme are you using? Change to Twenty Twelve theme and check if issue is resolved.

@mercime
Participant@danstriker I see you’d found out by now that applying 50px width for .entry-content img is not the way to go. Recommend that you add the following in your stylesheet for some of the avatars in the bbPress forums
#bbpress-forums .bbp-topic-freshness-author img.avatar, #bbpress-forums .bbp-template-notice info img.avatar, #bbpress-forums .bbp-topic-started-by img.avatar { width: 20px; height: auto; }August 6, 2013 at 2:56 am #169418In reply to: Old recent topics widget thread help
@mercime
Participant@hitkid the first post you linked is way too old – 3 years ago, we were using the BuddyPress internal forums. BP 1.7 onwards, bbPress plugin is the way to go and if you activate the bbPress plugin, you should find the following bbPress widgets https://codex.bbpress.org/widgets/ under Appearance > Widgets

Hugo Ashmore
ParticipantbbPress handles all forum requirements for BP as of 1.7, BP no longer bundles a version of bbPress, the templates in bp-default are more for backwards compatibility, running in theme compatibility mode bbPress will feed it’s content through plugins.php for group forums.

erp_linkin
ParticipantOK !! I think I understood why this is happening.
Please correct me if my understanding is incorrect.Because I have enabled bbpress. So Buddypress uses bbpress plugin to provide forums functionality as opposed to its own forum. Now since bbpress is a plugin so the follow goes to plugins.php rather than buddypress’s own forum.php
Correct ?

@faramarz thanks for posting the error, see https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/fatal-error-unable-to-create-forum-from-buddypress-group/#post-135487EDIT – Trac Ticket at https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2374
However as this post suggests and others this issue is perhaps not bbPress specific but BP and needs a trac entry on bp rather than bbPress.

@hnla,I dont remember from where i was past this part of text, but sure from an old buddypress readme.txt plugin and i was used since long time as template file for all my plugins.
You can check the readme.txt for all my others plugins too.
https://github.com/dzmounirI want ask you a question , why some old plugins have a forum support in the buddypress forum
i mean ?August 4, 2013 at 1:17 pm #169328In reply to: New great plugin, buddypress-wall by @megainfo
Hugo Ashmore
Participant@megainfo do correct me if I’m wrong but is this not another re-hash of an older plugin?
You have this line in the readme.txt https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-wall/forum/
Why it points nowhere, why are you saying the WP support forum for plugin is really checked and to post here with support issues? BP support does not offer support for third party plugins the correct place to offer/deal with support is on the provided WP plugin support.August 3, 2013 at 11:29 pm #169312In reply to: BuddyPress + Elder Scrolls = Tamriel Foundry

ParticipantCurious to see that @puggy! It seems that most ESO fansites I’ve seen are using WordPress — and for great reason, though none pull it off as well as Tamriel Foundry does, if I’m being completely honest. When I created TESOF, I originally intended it to be just a forum, so it was quite a bit of hassle to create certain sections based off of the MyBB forum software itself.
Since Curse, Inc. now owns TESOF, I won’t be taking part in much of the development, but I am making a new project based off of the WordPress/BuddyPress/bbPress combo (unrelated to ESO), and it’s coming along nicely. You can see most of that development on my personal blog. Most of my posts for the last few months are about the new project.
Annnnd, that’s enough of me hijacking @aaclayton’s topic. Keep up the good work with TF, you guys are really flourishing!
Here’s to the Elder Scrolls Online. *Takes a drink*

ParticipantHI guys
Am back again 😀I have fixed almost everything just few pages left
I want know which template file is used by forum , topic started, replies created, favorite topic, subscribed topic ?
I have fixed rest of all the pages by going into their respective template files and doing some addition in the code.
The only thing left is these pages coming under forums. Am not really sure if they are coming under BP or bbpressYour help would be appreciated in telling me the template file used by these pages (forum , topic started, replies created, favorite topic, subscribed topic)
