ParticipantI replied to you on bbPress.org, but it’s the same answer. The only thing is that BuddyPress is the social network aspect of the plugins whereas bbPress is the forum. You can install both onto your WordPress install and they will take the style of your WordPress theme.

Member@la-lena it is probably worth posting in the plugin’s support forum. That way one of the staff at rtCamp will be able to respond. They’ve just released v3.0 (is a bit buggy at the moment but their developers release bug fixes super quick)

ParticipantDear Mercime,
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried to attach PDF, DOCX and simple TXT files.I do use GD-bbPress-attachments Version 1.9.2. I have checked the settings, they all seem correct.
Strangely, the behaviour of the posting page doesn’t seem to upload the file I’ve selected, e.g. when I attach a file to any post, the uploading time of the page takes a few second (uploading of the file), whereas when I do the same on a private forum, the uploading time is almost instantaneous, as if the file was simple not uploadedJuly 10, 2013 at 3:30 pm #167885In reply to: Custom Post Types and Buddypress Activiy/posting

ParticipantI see. I apologize, I am fairly new to this forum thing. Let’s try this again…Hi everyone, I am currently trying to create a buddypress network, where members can either join for free, or receive more options by joining a paid membership program. The free members are able to post whatever they choose, and receive achievements/badges for doing so. The problem i have is, my wordpress theme is centered around minisites that are all created using custom post types. Also, the custom post types allow me create beautiful reviews, award badges and ratings, but only on my wp-back end. I am relatively new at coding, and this framework is definitely a template (industrial themes-flavor to be exact.) I would like to find a way to basically add the custom post capability (hopefully enough to match at least some of the functionality that i see on the backend) to the front user end of buddypress. That way, members can write reviews and award ratings/badges to the products they like, but not have to log into my backend. I know this might seem far-fetched, and Im sure there is a lot of work to make happen. However, I would at least like to try and start somewhere. So, on that note, if anyone has any idea,solution,experience with buddypress and custom post types, i would love to hear any insight, and would greatly appreciate any help. Without giving away all of the details, my goal is to create a network where users can basically buy/sell/share/create custom post type articles/products and be rewarded for doing tasks/events. Also, I would like to create an affiliate network within the model, where members that would like to have more than just a fun experience, be able to make a profit off of writing/sharing/click throughs, etc. So, finally, if I can’t find the help i need to slowly create this model myself, I am also willing to hear out anyone that might be interested in developing this network. I am sure that last statement was probably supposed to be placed somewhere else and not here, but I figured Id chance it in hopes to find anyone willing to help. Thank you for your time everyone, and may you all have a blessed wordpress/buddypress operating system.

July 9, 2013 at 8:31 pm #167832In reply to: Buddypress Registration Page is not working
@mercime
Participant@gcarlos8377 Basic troubleshooting involves deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and switching to the Twenty Twelve theme to check if registration is working by default. Then add on each plugin and test.
Never used Magic Member before, so if you find out that it’s causing the issue, I suggest you search the plugin’s forums for any report on BuddyPress conflict. Usually, support is guaranteed along with the purchase of the premium plugin.

ParticipantThis is the old thread but the same question, I didn’t want to spam here that’s why I will ask the same question here again, I would like to dynamically populate buddypress data into custom post types gravity forms when the user is logged in, I am succesfully populating wordpress user meta, but I don’t know the code in functions.php for buddypress profile fields to make them work, I have already asked on Gravity Help forum, but there are plenty of questions like that and the same as mine question they have never been answered, I hope that maybe somebody from this forum already had to resolve that problem in the past.

MemberBuddyPress Media (soon to be rtMedia) is great for albums. You could give that a try. It works very well for me and is actively supported by the development team.
Never used BP Album myself, perhaps try posting in the plugin’s support forum if you need to get that working.

define ( ‘BP_ACTIVATION_SLUG’, ‘enable’ );
