In reply to: How to prevent dofollow links on bbPress
@mercime
ParticipantDo ask at the bbPress.org forums as well – https://bbpress.org/forums/

Participant@indyowls closed your other thread about same issue. Surprised that the theme devs are not providing support for their custom theme, at least to tell you if they don’t know how to do it.
Let’s see how hard/easy it’ll be to fix alignment of BP pages for ifeature pro. Open up your ifeature theme’s header.php, copy all, and paste into pastebin.com, click submit, and post the generated URL here. Do the same for your theme’s page.php, index.php, sidebar.php and footer.php.

ParticipantTo start with, have you changed to bp-default theme to check out whether it’s your custom theme that’s not working with BP 1.5.4?

MemberHello,
In the end they all work together. My issue was one of two things. 1. template not compatible or 2. missed a step in in configuring wordpress for multisite functionality.Here was the solution.
Made a new directory in root for community and started fresh wordpress setup.
Disable the jetpack plugin which was automatically active. Install buddypress and setup.
Install setup magic members.Here are two articles that are helpful.

ParticipantYou should be able to get free support for your premium theme at their forums http://cyberchimps.com/forum/pro/ifeature-pro/

ORyanMcentire
MemberFirst, if you have a different problem start a new thread.
You need to make sure you have turned on “Anyone can register” under settings > general
then you need to make sure your registration and activation pages are set up in the buddypress settings.Second, you can’t currently search these forums. Extremely annoying and frustrating. Not to mention notifications and activity don’t seem to be working either so you have to search through the forum every time you want to check on your threads.

MemberI can see in the forum wizard of BuddyPress 1.5.4, there are 2 options: Forums for Groups and Site Wide Forums. Do you mean to suggest me to choose the Site Wide Forums?
Yeah, I did that and things seem to be good except I can not see the Forums page displayed on the menu (even I can see things are working though Admin panel). When I try to access the forum pages manually by entering their URLs, the links are broken. What am I missing here?
March 11, 2012 at 2:23 am #131157In reply to: Migrate from phpBB to BuddyPress
@mercime
ParticipantI would suggest that you stick with the bbPress2.+ plugin as it works well with BuddyPress 1.5.4 – we’re lucky that JJJ is the Lead Developer for both plugins.
The current BuddyPress Group Forums (with own custom bbPress 1.0) will be migrated to bbPress plugin sometime BP 1.6

MemberI’m also unable to get this to work. I just want to make ‘Forum’ the default tab in a group, and get rid of the ‘Home’ tab.

MemberNot exactly. You might want to check permalinks with respect to your problem. It may or may not be the same problem. I did attempt to reset my permalinks to no avail.
I uploaded the buddypress plugin through wordpress as opposed to using ftp. I did so into the root. it. works up to the group or forum creation. Everything else still works.
The site spins a bit before I get a 500 internal server error. I can go back to the previous page no problem. Just those newly added groups and forums are the problem…
The recorded error so far when going to the incompleted creation is;
“[warn] RSA server certificate CommonName (CN) `MYDOMAIN’ does NOT match server name!?”Still looking for tips but will come back and post solution if I find it in mean time..

Participant@mosaicrob If you’re still using the Insignio theme where we changed 16 template files in this thread, then yes, you can make any of them left sidebar or right sidebar or full width.
For example, you want to make all the Groups Directory Page (groups/index.php) and Members Directory Page (members/index.php) use Full Page Layouts, instead of using the replacement codes I posted in that thread …
At the top of those two files, change replacement to:
``At the bottom of those two files, change replacement to
``

BUT MY ERROR IS NOT THE BLANK PAGES PROBLEM… I GOT A PERMISSION PROBLEM!
Can anybody help me?!?

MemberTHANK YOU @modemlooper for your feedback back. The BuddyPress Mobile is awesome! It has app like features and allows my users to update statuses on the go. Also, for the more craft user, they can actually upload photos via BuddyPress mobile if they have the URL, which Instagram actually provides, once it’s live. And I believe Photobucket, and flickr do as well… Anyway, thank you for the feedback!
@Quint your feedback is awesome! I will look further into this… that might be a way for a user to kill to birds with one stone.. good call!
@not1_name Thank you also for the helpful feedback. I love collaborating on these forums! I will give these options a try and let you know how it plays out!
Best,

ParticipantI think I solved it for the most part. Take a look at my solutions and see if it might help you: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/activation-email-key-doesnt-work-i-may-have-the-fix/
March 8, 2012 at 4:48 pm #131042snowlas
ParticipantMy problem was I was running a plugin that was generating a key as well as buddypress and WordPress wanted the key generated by the first plugin, not the key from the activation email sent out by buddypress.
You can read about it here: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/activation-email-key-doesnt-work-i-may-have-the-fix/
it’s lengthy, I know, but I hope it puts you in the right direction if it doesn’t work.
