MemberNew issue: I clicked the “x” to delete the uploaded file.
It did delete the file from the server (I checked) BUT after that it loaded a white page at:
{buddypress site} /wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-forums/bbpress/topic.php?id=7#post-34
instead of where I’m guessing it should have gone:
{buddypress site} /groups/ {groupname} /forum/topic/topic.php?id=7#post-34

KeymasterNo, I’m not sure. It could be that you’re not running Apache – maybe your server is running nginx or something? I’ll look into it.

MemberAny idea what is causing the fatal error?
Fatal error: Call to undefined function apache_request_headers() in / {web root} / {buddypress directory} /wp-content/plugins/forum-attachments-for-buddypress/download.php on line 47

KeymasterOh, I guess it’s because I was trying to throw the whole kitchen sink in there and I put in some duplicates
Have a look at allowed file types being set near the beginning of forum-attachments-for-buddypress-bp-functions.php to pare them down a bit. I will do this in a subsequent release.

MemberThanks boone…I figured that out as soon as I tried it. I’m a designer, what can I say.

Unrelated to that issue, I was wondering why there seem to be so many duplicates in the “allowed file types” – bmp (500 KB), doc (500 KB), gif (500 KB), gz (500 KB), jpeg (500 KB), jpg (500 KB), pdf (500 KB),
png (500 KB), txt (500 KB), xls (500 KB), zip (500 KB), gif (500 KB), jpeg (500 KB), jpg (500 KB), pdf (500 KB), png (500 KB), txt (500 KB), docx (500 KB), xlsx (500 KB), ppt (500 KB), pptx (500 KB)

Keymasterchembro – No, you need to go one level above your web root. Figure out the server path is installed by logging onto your FTP space (it’ll be something like /var/www/html or /home/public_html probably) and create a writeable directory one level above that (eg /var/www/bb-attachments or /home/bb-attachments)

MemberEdit: Uh, ok I’m stupid. Retract original question.
I created this folder and tried again. Now it shows the file as an attachment. But, clicking the attachment goes to a white page with:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function apache_request_headers() in / {web root} / {buddypress directory} /wp-content/plugins/forum-attachments-for-buddypress/download.php on line 47
I checked and the actual image was uploaded properly. It’s just viewing it that isn’t working. Wish it was inline too… oh well.

KeymasterShoot, I forgot to add the instructions about creating the upload directory. Make a directory one level above your webroot and make sure it’s writeable.

MemberWP 2.9.2, BP 1.2.2.1
Installed and tested upload of a small JPEG… it just shows “failed” and a little x with the filename.
I tried for a little while to troubleshoot but I’m not sure what should happen if it’s working so I’m not sure where to look… i.e. I am not sure what I should be looking for. Database entry? File uploaded to certain place on my server?

ParticipantI’m trying to add the Facebook URL to a custom xprofile field. Adding this query to _process_login.php, like I did here with other queries, doesn’t work:
$wpdb->query( $wpdb->prepare( "UPDATE {$wpdb->bp_xprofile_data} SET value = %s WHERE ID = %d AND field_id=3", $fbuser['profile_url'], $user_login_id ) );It does get stored in wp_users, but I need to figure out how to connect this plugin to xprofile anyway.

ParticipantOk, this worked for me (I hope it fixes evrybody else):
Go to Settings -> Miscellaneous Settings
Set “Store uploads in this folder” to “wp-content/uploads”.
Set “Full URL path to files” to the REAL FULL PATH of your uploads.
Then change bp-core-avatars.php line 389:
Replace:
if ( !$path = get_option( ‘upload_path’ ) )
$path = WP_CONTENT_DIR . ‘/uploads’;
With:
if ( !$path = get_option( ‘upload_path’ ) )
$path = WP_CONTENT_DIR . ‘/uploads’;
else $path = ABSPATH . $path;
It fixes the problem.

ousep
ParticipantJust confirming that I’m facing the same issue…
Have tried bp_is_front_page, is_front_page and is_home to check, but none of them output the class.
If this helps: I have only the activity and members features working… no forums or groups.
Also, I didn’t have a blog page earlier, but I’ve added it, since.
This might be a related issue…
In wp-admin>settings>reading, selecting activity as the front page does nothing at first try. Attempting it a second time locks it into place. I’ve faced this issue at least 3 times.

MemberSigning in with my correct account (banfi is my surname
)@etiviti,
Cheers!
I’ll release the plugin tomorrow when I’m at home and have the SVN access to upload to the wordpress site.
The only thing I’ve not added is ordered and unordered lists. so when enabling the buttons for the other you may want to take these out until at some point I can get that working?

it supports everything else though as well as the color tag.
Cheers

ParticipantIf anyone is interested in porting the Live Comment Preview plugin for bbPress (poke @etiviti Rich!), here’s where to look:
i’m not a huge fan of this plugin that since it pings the server on each keystroke. (personally, i use markitup on bbpress)

still giving
ParticipantSorry, I did not realise that BBpress was so limited.
But there were two parts to the question, the second was:
* Why have so many basic default features from BBpress been disabled, will they be reincarnated, and where is the planned roadmap?

ModeratorCan you please wrap the profile header output in a div with a class? I keep doing this and it gets knocked off on every update.
Thanks!

KeymasterIt is not a BuddyPress issue because the group forums use bbPress.
bbPress doesn’t offer a preview button in their core; if you want one, ask the bbPress developers to add it to their roadmap.
Or ask someone to port one of the bbPress preview plugins (like I mentioned above) to BP.
I closed this thread initially, but reopened it for those who might want to consider a port.
Please do not divert this topic to a debate about bbPress vs. BP’s use of it, otherwise this thread will be closed.
