ParticipantRight guys, I reinstalled everything and in general settings in admin changed the content link from the default addresss to the absolute url, eg http://www.mysite.com/wp-content/uploads before trying to post a thing.
I also changed perma links to ‘Day and name’
All seems to work.
Let me know how you get on.

ParticipantI’ve just tried Boone’s plugin that Dwenaus linked above, and after editing the template files as noted in the readme (more or less — the line numbers have changed, of course), it seems to work.
So far I can’t get inlining to work with uploaded image attachments, though, which was what I was aiming for. Bummer.
It may be an artifact of dev on a local xammp install maybe, because I’ve got URLs for the attachment icons like “http://localhost.localdomain/devsiteD:/xampp/htdocs/devsite/wp-content/plugins/forum-attachments-for-buddypress/icons/img.gif”, I’m not sure. Link for the ‘uploaded’ image is fine, just no inline….
Will investigate, in my semi- but mostly incompetent way.

ParticipantI’m having similar problems – when I post I get the red bar that says “â€There was an error creating this topicâ€
Do you get an error or just the redirect?

ParticipantTheir was a terrible bug in 1.4.3 Please update to 1.4.4. Please read this post at the WP forum and see if that helps you. Otherwise you can contact me through BP and we can figure it out. In future version we make sure to avoid creating havoc.

Moderator@aronel Thats easy to do just create new sidebars for each and then create functions for each of those sidebars.
sidebar.php
sidebar-groups.php
in your groups theme folder switch out the code that calls sidebar.php and add sidebar-groups.php
You can also do this and create new zones on pages / slugs. Say at top of groups directory you want to have featured groups avatars. Easily done with widget zones.

ParticipantOk, I was wrong above. @kriskl is talking about the Forums index page, while my other post — https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/changing-group-tab-display-defaults — is about changing the default tab view within the Groups pages.
But this is an interesting problem also. I looked at your pointers above, @r-a-y , but I couldn’t figure it out. The Standard Loop page you linked to shows the code for
bp_has_groups()but then below that it has the “accepted parameters” for
bp_has_site_groups()a function which I couldn’t find anywhere in BP. Likewise the “most-forum-topics” & “most-forum-posts” arguments for the “type” parameter of that function.
Here’s what I think it would be cool do do, but I’m not sure how to do it:
Currently, logged-in users see two navigation tabs for displaying forum Topics on the “Group Forums Directory” page accessed by clicking “Forums” in the general navigation (default display tab in bold):
[All Topics (25] [My Topics (12)]
How to implement the addition of a new default tab that lists all of the Group Forums, with the same filtering options? then the Forums page sub-nav tabs would look like this:
[All Forums (11)] [All Topics (25] [My Topics (12)]

ParticipantCreede – Could you tell me how did you reinstalled the forum ?
I am using standard buddypress theme and all other plugins are inactive, I don’t have any problem in making them active after upgrade.
If none of this works, I would like activate from backend, can someone tel me where to enable BP from backend ?

ParticipantI had this same problem. I ended up doing a couple things. I made sure all my other plugins were disabled, I reinstalled the forum, and I made sure I was using a standard buddypress theme. One of those things seemed to fix the problem and my buddypress plugin went from fatal error to saying it was activated.

ParticipantIn response to your points up top:
1)
+1 Favorites sometimes = bookmarks in social networking sites. We need to be able to offer this across all types of communication features.
2)
Theme developers need to be able to pull this info in with a loop. Maybe we can already?
3)What is the current state of Favorties plugin development, and is there something in the works that can accomplish the above?
There is the BuddyPress-Like plugin: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-like/
The problem with BP Like is that it now competes with Favorites built-in to BP 1.2. I need to be able to turn off Favorites so that BP Like isn’t confusing/repetitive.
But really, this is something should be rolled into core.
Forums, yes, were part of an older web community – it was the sole way they communicated. With the advent of social networking came the creation of new ways to communicate. Forums were given less focus but they still have there place. Even today in Facebook you can clearly identify forum-esque features.
I don’t think BP has ever focused on forums. It’s always been on the activity stream/wire. Of course, forum topics are now tied to the activity stream – as they should be – but does not in any way give BP a “schizophrenic” identity.

ParticipantThe question is already answered, get firefox, install firebug add-on and see where it is.
If we have to answer this question everytime someone can’t find a selector, we’d have no space left for the more important topics.

ParticipantAs webmaster, you have to use some tools to have anwers for such basic questions.
You can use web developer, for example. Or firebug…

ParticipantLooks great! Did it take a lot of work getting Simplepress forums integrated? I’m running up against the limitations of bbpress out-of-the-box and it’s giving me some minor headaches.
