ParticipantHi avim,
You’re right: erasing the topic wouldn’t erase the attached tags. So i’m affraid you have to do this manually.
Go to your DB and search the forum tables containing “term” in their name. You will find 3 different xx__bb_term_xxx.
You will also have to look in the side wide activity table:
wp_bp_activity_user_activity_cached
search in “component-action” for “new_forum_post” and/or “new_forum_topic”
If you use phpMyAdmin or similar it is easy to modify or erase the unwanted strings.
February 10, 2010 at 3:52 am #62929In reply to: bbPress on WP 3.0 alpha and 1.2 RC 2
@mercime
ParticipantFresh install WP 3.0 alpha-trunk-r13040 with BP 1.2 trunk-r2639
When installing Forums component, getting this message:
bbPress files were not found. To install the forums component you must download a copy of bbPress and make sure it is in the folder: “wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-forums/bbpress/”
Quickfix: I placed the bbpress 1.0.2 folder and files within. Then I went BP > Forums Setup and the regular options found for internal set up of bbpress appeared in panel.

snark
ParticipantNote the title of this Buddypress Forum page is displaying the title of the page, as it should:
BuddyPress.org –> Forums –> Editing Group and Forum page title tags
Is this a custom edit of the core files, or is there a setting somewhere that I’m missing?

ParticipantCometchat looks really awesome. Slick and simple User Interface – where is Erich73 and his KISS statement

I read on their forums about buddypress support, but that was back in November 2009

Does anyone know something more about their plans with buddypress?

ParticipantAh – now I get it – I thought I was performing a deep integration through the forums setup menu

So now I need to look into the deep integration once again.
Thanx Chouf1!

ParticipantChouf1,
everyone who is following this forum for a certain time (like myself), recognized that you are an expert and you definitely know what you are talking about.
Many thanks for discovering this issue and posting it into several tickets in order to highlight getting it fixed.
Appreciate your help.

Dwenaus
ParticipantThe achievements solves part of the user activity issue. but the other issue about rating is still open. Does anyone know of any reputation or Karma plugin for buddypress. I guess it matters mostly around the forum. I found a plugin for bbpress https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/bb-reputation/ and also there is intense debate for blog comments.
I will be needing this, so any advice on how to go forward to write or adapt a plugin would be incredibly helpful.

ParticipantHi,
It is a fresh install of all three – WPMU, BP and bbPress. I did not know that I could install bbPress from that menu in BP, so I installed in in directory “Forums”.
So bbPress is running fine in that directory, only it is not integrated.
Ok, I was not aware of the groups-thing you mention. I will try that out!
Thanx
February 9, 2010 at 9:41 pm #62905In reply to: Cannot get the bb forums setup to work?
danbpfr
ParticipantHi,
if it is a fresh first install how is it possible that you clicked the “Use an existing bbPress installation”.
If you haven’t forums before install you can’t have some after !

Anyway, to have forums within BP; you have to create a group first. And then from group you can create a forum.
On your site, you installed the forum outside of BP, it is a “separate install” config.
If you want it to integrate BP, make a backup of the forum tables if their content is precious to you. Erase or rename the actual bb-config file.
Add an empty bb-config.php at the site root and re-install the forum by cliking “new install” this time.

snark
ParticipantI’m seeing the same thing, and this is a BIG PROBLEM. And I’m running single-user WP 2.9.1 with BP 1.2-rc latest trunk (Sunday night).
Deleting the user doesn’t delete their Forum topics and replies like it should — the title and content of each post is left intact — it just says “Deleted User” in place of the user name.

KeymasterUpgrade to RC2 then.
Since you’re on 1.2 beta, you can just download RC2 and overwrite the files.
Check out testbp.org.
It’s running on RC2 and the forum posts have permalinks.
