    I have .htaccess
    I have loaded the entire system three times and followed the directions
    I have made sure that all of the files have an owner of _www

    I have already screamed and will probably do so again. I am currently using

    Apple Macintosh macOS 10.12.3
    Wordpress 4.7.2
    Theme: TwentySeventeen
    bbPress 2.5.12
    BuddyPress 2.8.0
    Jetpack 4.6

    The requested URL /blogs/wordpress/template/members/bradleyross/profile/edit/ was not found on this server.
    The page register has the permalink http://localhost/blogs/wordpress/template/index.php/members
    Does this sound correct

    It also appears that multiple attempts to load the software may result in things like members-2 and members-3. You may have to send pages with those permalink to the trash and then empty the trash. Hopefully, you can then recreate the pages correctly

    I now assume that the problem is somewhere in the rewrite module. In the httpd.conf file, I am going to change the line Allow None to Allow FileInfo. Does this sound reasonable and are there any other changes you think that I should make.

    in httpd.conf, I have

    LoadModule alias_module libexec/apache2/mod_alias.so
    LoadModule rewrite_module libexec/apache2/mod_rewrite.so
    #
    # The two following lines had been commented out as part of the
    # update July, 2015. They are now being uncommented to
    # put them back in
    #
    LoadModule php5_module libexec/apache2/libphp5.so
    LoadModule hfs_apple_module libexec/apache2/mod_hfs_apple.so

    and

    <Directory “/Library/WebServer/Documents”>
    #
    # Possible values for the Options directive are “None”, “All”,
    # or any combination of:
    # Indexes Includes FollowSymLinks SymLinksifOwnerMatch ExecCGI MultiViews
    #
    # Note that “MultiViews” must be named *explicitly* — “Options All”
    # doesn’t give it to you.
    #
    # The Options directive is both complicated and important. Please see
    # http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/core.html#options
    # for more information.
    #
    # The attribute Includes was added 17-Feb-2017
    Options FollowSymLinks Multiviews Includes
    MultiviewsMatch Any

    #
    # AllowOverride controls what directives may be placed in .htaccess files.
    # It can be “All”, “None”, or any combination of the keywords:
    # AllowOverride FileInfo AuthConfig Limit
    #
    AllowOverride None

    #
    # Controls who can get stuff from this server.
    #
    Require all granted
    </Directory>

    Hello and thanks a lot for your help,

    Ok… Like button issue is solved, it was jetpacks’s “fault”.
    I followed your advise about the pictures size and installed WP Smush, and I optimized all the pictures on the site. The “funny” thing is that after I did it and run the GTmetrix, the site’s performance appears to be worst (That’s what it shows me anyway –> Optimize images and Leverage Browser Caching are now on F-0, but the site seems to be faster when I use it with my test group anyway, I don’t get it).
    About the “WWW” … Can I simply change it on my WP-admin settings to http://artisticfreedomcrew.com or it’s more complicated than that?

    You probably already realized I am not an expert at all, actually I am a total noob about these things. I am only a photographer trying to get a friendly environment so my friends and guests can post their work as well, so any help will be most appreciated and welcome.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

    seems you use jetpack to fire a share widget and it looks like there is a JS conflict.
    Activate a twenty theme and se what you get.

    Seems also you use WP super cache.
    Clear the cache and deactivate it and make a first test.
    Once Twenty active, and still no button, you need to track all plugins except BP and jetpack.
    Deactivate all and reactivate one by one, until you find a culprit.

    If nothing found, you can be sure that or the theme or jetpack generates the button issue.
    While writing here i revisited a page (/butterfly) and could see the like button…

    But i think the problem is in your install setup.
    First, you use www. WordPress doesn’t use it by default.
    The site is also really slow. Use GTMetrix to get a detailed analysis of what you could do for better performance.
    You use also a very old plugin, and certainly outdated: pc-custom-css. Why don’t you use a child-theme ?
    Your images are very large, too large imho ! The guitar as example. Original size is 2500x1440px and 577ko ! On the post, it is barely larger than a thumbnail and on the Home a little medium size.
    It isn’t even optimized. I did it quickly and now it makes 303ko. Appreciate the difference and the gain if you would do this for all your pictures.

    Add a little JS bug or lame script over this and you know now from where you can expect issues.

    Nevermind, got it working.
    For anyone having the same problem, use

    function jptweak_remove_share() {
    	if ( is_buddypress() ) {
    	    remove_filter( 'the_content', 'sharing_display',19 );
    	    remove_filter( 'the_excerpt', 'sharing_display',19 );
    	    if ( class_exists( 'Jetpack_Likes' ) ) {
    	        remove_filter( 'the_content', array( Jetpack_Likes::init(), 'post_likes' ), 30, 1 );
    	    }
    	}
    }
    add_action( 'loop_start', 'jptweak_remove_share' );

    BuddyPress registration page is quite big, it has a lot of inputs.
    You can install a widget, called (BuddyPress) Log in. Here is info about it.
    If you use Jetpack, there is a module there, that gives ability to define widgets visibility. Here are other plugins: one, two & etc.
    Thus you will have ability to define, that this widget should be displayed only on Registration page in sidebar (or any widget zone that is defined in your theme).

    Or you can manually edit BuddyPress template files and include a shortcode or PHP code to display a login form in any place of your registration page. See docs for that.

    Yes, the issue has been there since day one – and I searched for plugins to add this functionality but couldn’t find one that worked. Then I saw the new BP update with the added BP Email functionality and I realised that a/. this functionality indeed hadn’t been there before and b/. it had now been officially added as a part of BP’s core code.

    The Jetpack plugin supports single sign on. When you network activate it, you should see a Jetpack > Settings tab in your network admin.

    The first one refers to bbPress.
    And can be difficult to track down. It may be in the bbPress plugin or another plugin that calls bPress .

    2. Something, not BuddyPress, is creating a Widget using a deprecated constructor method.

    3. Is related to a JetPack module.

    The first step to getting rid of those Notices is identifying the source, so:
    – switch momentarily to a WP theme like 2013 and see if any persist
    – turn off plugins one at a time and see if any persist

    Time consuming…

    I tried one of the standard themes with no change (not really surprising as the login/logout doesn’t use theme pages as far as I can tell).
    I also tried disabling all the other plugins that had changed recently, but the only ones that made a difference were jetpack and buddypress. I’m pretty sure that the only reason disabling jetpack had an effect is that it also seemed to disable buddypress.
    Thanks.

    @ldesherl If you’re not seeing the button to save settings to associate Pages with BP components, then you might need to delete BuddyPress then re-install BuddyPress.

    As for the content of the BuddyPress pages not showing up: I suspect it’s a plugin conflict, specifically with the Shareaholic share buttons and possibly the JetPack Like Button. Deactivate the Shareaholic first and check if the issue is resolved.

    EDIT – Also, if you’ve been deleting and re-installing BuddyPress through wp-admin Plugins panel, try deleting then uploading the BuddyPress plugin folder via control panel or FTP.

    There is no free media solution that will work seamlessly across WP Multisite and Buddypress, that is comparable to at least some degree to scripts like Elgg or Easysocial for Joomla … Rtmedia paid version is little better but using and uploading media has become so intuitive and easy (along with site super admins options eg how much to allow to upload in one go) that standard cms-es like WordPress, Buddypress, Joomla, Drupal are lacking far behind : for example see Whatsapp – how easily you can add picture from you phone cam or webcam in your gallery ( for Buddypress, Elgg etc you can do this for profile photo only) – such capacities are totally absent in social scripts like BP (WordPress or WP Multisite without BP is somewhat better if used with Jetpack).

    We will never catch-up – you will never catch up unless you have deep pockets. WP+BP rest on its laurels and its sad how FB monopoly is destroying the fabric of inter-connectivity of internet.

    Mediapress is not a user-friendly solution if you have to quickly or in a moderate time, deploy a social net site.

    Hi @bewitchingfiction,

    That is what my screen looks like… I have passed on the message from @danbp to my theme’s developers to look into.

    <b>Have you updated the WordPress themes to the absolute latest?</b> They issued updates earlier this week. The previous versions resulted in the same problem, but the current ones worked fine for me.

    My site is a relatively big one… with lots going on. But, my host advised me not to use Jetpack because they have found a number of conflicts/issues with some of the components. Hence, I have to find, test and use other plugins to get the functionality I am after.

    Hi, I have tested with all, had to deactivate things like Jetpack which then had to be re-activated. I am still experiencing the same issues. The page still looks like the screenshot attached below

     photo error2.png

    I deactivated the plugins one by one but it made no difference at all.

    Help?

    I have tried with multiple themes, including the 2015, 14 and 13. I am currently using Firmasite (which works but isn’t the most user-friendly in other ways). I have BBpress, Buddypress, Mailchimp for WordPress, Akismet (activated), Buddypress Group Chat, Buddypress Security Check, Jetpack. I try and keep the plugins to a minimum as my WordPress site is only used for the forums – I use efiction in a subfolder for the main part of my site.

    The above plugin has no sync with buddypress activity stream.
    It also does not show who has favorited a post (compare Jetpack Likes)
    Thanks for the news.
