    I know this post is from a while ago, but I face the same issue. I tried the solution 2 @henrywight suggested, but it doesn’t seem to work properly for my site, nothing changed in the registration form even though I also included the CSS. This is the page I’m referring to: https://starkehand.org/registrieren/

    I would appreciate your help very much! Thank you already in advance.

    I have over 4000 active users on Buddypress – and it’s a Spam Magnet.

    I’ve tried a few things I’ve found in past threads, but doesn’t seem to be working. Registrations are e-mail verified, and coming from gmail for the most part. The Spam users don’t seem to have the same IP range to ban, etc.

    First people were just creating profiles. Then they started using the messages system. Disabled that. Then they started sending Friend requests to other users. Then they started replying to other users basic activity.

    I’ve tried throttling, they just make more accounts. I’ve tried ReCaptcha on every messaging form. A week later someone still manages to reply to activity to a few hundred users in a day.

    I’ve essentially disabled every single interaction possibility at this point, which severely hobbles the usefulness of buddypress in the first place.

    Any ideas for something that actually works to stop spam?

    Hi All,

    At the moment, I have buddypress linked with a social login plugin with wordpress.

    However, if you register on my site using Facebook – BuddyPress automatically takes their full name as their username. How can I change it, so that a user has an option to choose a new user name on registration?

    I built a website for a client where we needed to collect some additional information on registration from users that would ultimately be used in their profiles (it’s pretty much a social media platform for local artists).

    I have it so that when someone sign ups a notification email goes to my client so he can make sure they are a legit artist to keep them on the site. The notification email just has the default info in it.

    Is there any way to include the additional extended profile data in the notification email?

    Phone <a href="tel://06666666669&quot; rel="nofollow">0666666666</a>
    2) how can i validate phone number in registration page? i used jQuery to do that but does not work, this is my code jQuery:

    jQuery(document).ready(function(){

    //Code Starts
    function validatePhone(field_49) {
        var a = document.getElementById(field_49).value;
        var filter = /^[0-9-+]+$/;

        if (filter.test(a)) {
            return true;
        }
        else {
            return false;
        }
    }
    //Code Ends

    //Code Starts
    jQuery('#field_49').blur(function(e) {
       if (validatePhone('field_49')) {
           $('#field_132').html('Valid');
           $('#field_132').css('color', 'green');
       }
       else {
          $('#field_132').html('Invalid');
          $('#field_132').css('color', 'red');

    Hello,
    I installed buddypress for a few months and it is he who manages the registrations to my site. When a person registers, he does not appear systematically in the members page. Did I forget a setting? However in the profiles the members who do not appear are well: Role on the site = Subscriber and Roles on this forum = Participant
    My version is WordPress 5.4.1 with the Divi theme, the Learndash plugin and the version 6.0.0 of BuddyPress.
    I had installed the BuddyPress for LearnDash plugin which I uninstalled because it caused bugs. Here is my site https://terresdesavoirs.fr/members/

    Do you have any idea where this display concern can come from?

    Thanks @clickallco but that’s not what we are trying.

    What we need is create in the main menu an option with the hidden group of every member and hide all the others the member not’s in them. Because the only way to access to this groups is thought this links. We don’t need private groups because we don’t want the users can request registration or see the other groups.

    Hi there,

    I found many other threads about this problem, but it seems nothing works out on my end. I have the latest version of WordPress and BuddyPress, have not that many plugins installed.

    All other emails are working and even I receive an email about a new user registration. But the new user don’t receives his activation email or new friend email.

    I use Sendgrid for emails which I have set up with WP Mail SMTP. Test emails are working, only BuddyPress emails are not working. BuddyPress emails are also not visible in Sendgrid, so they never leave WordPress.

    Also tried to do a repair from Tools -> BuddyPress (Reinstall emails -delete and restore from defaults) but that also doesn’t work out. I’m out of ideas. Such functionality should work out of the box.

    Hope anyone can help me out here.

    Thanks in advance.

    @kingfisher64 Gravity form user registration addon has x-profile mapping option along with user meta values. https://www.gravityforms.com/add-ons/user-registration/
    You can use it as a reference.

    Running WordPress 5.4.1. and Buddypress 5.2. Users can’t register. With all other plugins off and using 2019 or 2020 themes, the front-end registration is still not working. The page does a quick refresh but no confirmation message, nothing recorded in database and no emails are sent. Not sure when this stopped working but had been on auto-pilot for at least a year with various plugins and Socialize theme by Ghostpool/Envato. User registration from the admin panel does work. With Buddypress also disabled saw that WordPress user registrations would work. https://godhelp.net/register/

    Any ideas?

    @kingfisher64 Not sure if that plugin has integration with BuddyPress. Since that is a paid plugin, you should be able to ask at the plugin’s forums whether it is compatible with BuddyPres. If so, how to go about the integration with BP registration. Good luck!

    Hello,

    I was wondering if it’s possible to get the fields that formidable forms create as part of their user registration plugin to map to BuddyPress?

    Formidable lets the user create several different user registrations so one could be for business with one set of fields another set (with some common denominators).

    I’ve tried adding custom fields but did not see the formidable fields.

    Many thanks for any advice received your time is appreciated.

    WP v:5.4.1 (sub-domains MU configuration) | BB v: 5.2.0 | Theme: Kallyas v:4.17.5 | Plugin: Youzer | Website

    Captcha/Text Colour Issue on BP Registration Page

    I have successfully styled BB using Youzer as required except for the line within the image of the BB Registration Page.

    The font/text remains white on a white background and I am unable to make the change whether Youzer is activated or deactivated.

    I would be truly grateful for assistance on this as new users and unable to register because they cannot see the math value in order to answer.

    Thanks,

    Justin.

    BuddyPress – Olympus Theme – Youzer.

    I am creating a profile that coordinates with my business member type. When they register, I would love to have a standard set of groups automatically be set up for them with them as Authors on those. I know that I can make it so a user is automatically assigned to a group that exists. What I want is for a business to have standard groups that are created with them as authors upon registration.

    Make sense? Can this be done? Or would I need a developer to write it up for me?

    BuddyPress Community – Olympus Theme – Youzer

    This is three questions in one, looking for 1-3 plugins that work together to accomplish these things? I can insert code if I’m told exactly how/where to put it, but I’m very much not a coder so I’d prefer to use plugins if I can. lol

    1. Can I have multiple Users assigned to one profile (like a business, the owner and an admin person). For example a Business owner sets up a business profile but allows the manager or supervisor access to post jobs or advertising through it?

    2. Can I create two different profiles (that have different profile fields upon registration) like a person vs a business under the same site?

    3. Can there be profile parents like if a company has 3 locations – a main company profile and 3 child profiles – one for each location so the managers can logon and manage their own accounts with job ads and advertising? And the parent can do the same for the headquarters?

    Hi @coolhunt
    Thank you.

    It seems that pages having item tabs is showing this behaviour(slight extra space on mobile)

    I checked registration page on your site which is not showing this behaviour. We haven’t updated the Community Builder with recent changes from Pro. I will release an update next week with the fixes for this.

    Thank you

    The default theme is not used unless you select it as a WP theme – and it is very old and just there for legacy support.

    The string you want is here, on Line 3119
    buddypress\bp-members\classes\class-bp-registration-theme-compat.php

    $title = __( 'Activate Your Account', 'buddypress' );

    As you can see, it is ready for translation.
    You can see it in the language file, buddypress\buddypress.pot on Line 2984
