    @prashantvatsh Loco translate appeared to work on my own testing with a typical new account registration and activation, but the snippet of code did not prevent someone from bypassing account activation if using another WordPress account to login. The tester mentioned logging in with the other account (apparently no registration required in this case) and seeing a jet pack process accept them. I am not sure jet pack had anything to do with this and wonder if you have other suggestions. I hope to test in real-time later today to better know what is happening.

    Hi,

    I would like to have buddypress login and registration through “google”, “Facebook” “twitter” etc. I have following fields mandatory on registration page:-
    Date of Birth
    Username / Display name
    password
    First name
    Last name
    Gender
    Email

    I tried using plugin “WordPress Social Login” However it does not allow me to map some of the fields mentioned above e.g. Date of birth, Gender.

    Also I do not want to map the social username/display name rather I want to enforce users to use different username/display name for buddypress.

    Is there any alternative plugin / snippet for above plugin that will support above requirements?

    As per this page https://codex.buddypress.org/releases/version-3-0-0/
    #7691 At User’s front Page Edit your bio link leads to current admin user backend profile

    This is true even for subscribers.

    I want to keep users at the front-end only, and away from the wp-admin dashboard. Is this possible?

    I am using WordPress 4.9.8 with Woocommerce and BuddyPress 3.2.0. I have enabled BuddyPress to WordPress profile syncing in BP Options because I need BP integration with Woocommerce. I have installed Theme My Login to redirect users to the front-end for Registration, Login, Logout and Lost Password. But it doesn’t allow for bio-edit.

    Is there any way to resolve this so that users are kept at the front end for editing their bio?

    @prashantvatsh Thanks very much. I am not a programmer so have a simple question – in which file does this code go, and where in there? Am I correct in thinking this will require all registration requests to be activated manually by me? Since my post I have learned that someone was able to bypass activation and join the site by using an existing WP account at login. Is there a way to remove that option or will this code be best?

    Can you provide more context about how to find the text that uses the Loco Translate plugin, and how this plugin relates to the dynamic BuddyPress registration text? I appreciate your help. Thanks.

    Btw, The above code disables the toggle option on profile edit too.
    To only change it on registration page, Please use the below code instead

    .register-page .signup-form .editfield .field-visibility-settings,
    #register-page .standard-form .field-visibility-settings-header {
        display:none;
    }

    Best Regards

    I can’t see a plugin for MailPoet integration. I’d like to have a checkbox on the registration form(s) to allow new users to subscribe to my MailPoet mailing list(s). Is this possible (without extreme customisation)?

    Latest version of WordPress. BuddyPress not yet installed.

    Hi,

    Can anyone please help me with this. I do not want members to modify the registration details once after they have registered. Hence I have hidden the first group (group 1) in Profile > Edit. But I noticed that whenever the member edits his profile to update fields in other profile groups then by default he lands into group 1 which is empty in my case. Can anyone help me to change the default landing page to group 2 instead?

    add_filter( 'bp_registration_needs_activation', '__return_false' );

    Please try this snippet.

    Also you can install loco translate plugin and find the text using this plugin and then can change it to something else.

    Loco Translate

    Thanks

    Hello, I would like to manually approve our BuddyPress site registration requests. To do this, I have disabled the “activate your account” email message, and instead, approve registration requests in the “pending” area on the dashboard. However, when a person registers they see text on the Register page suggesting they will receive an email, and will be able to activate their own account. How can I change this text to avoid confusion? How can I make sure those who register are unable to activate their own accounts?

    [I tried the Eonet Manual User Approval Plug-in but this added even more contradictory text to the registration confirmation webpage, plus there appeared to be a glitch when using with BuddyPress even though the two plug-ins seem to be compatible otherwise.]
    Thanks in advance…

    Does the Restrict Content plugin integrate with BuddyPress registration or require a separate registration?

    It works with BuddyPress Registration. It restricts content for non-logged in users so mechanism is simple if not a user and is a guest only then restrict the content.

    You can go with shane’s solution because that allows to restrict BuddyPress content and WordPress post type contents as well.

    Thanks

    How to add separate user role’s all users list in drop down menu of custom add profile field of Buddy Press ?

    For example I have three types of roles. Admin,Doctor,Patient. I built Patient registration form. In this form I add the field using Buddy Press plugin’s sub menu as using below steps…

    First I go to Users->Profile Fields->Add New Field->
    Here in Name I add a name of field label “Assigned to”
    Under the Type I select “Drop Down”
    Now I stuck. I want here I need users list of my all users whose role is Doctor. In another words I want here my sites all registered Doctors list.

    Is anyone have an idea to do this ?

    Regards and Thanks in Advance

    my previous post in regard to this particular website is the fifth revision of this website the first for revisions of this website were all used with auto install and after that I downloaded the entire buddypress31 swear explicitly prohibits Auto install of WordPress with platform like soft pholicious which is what I used to install WordPress the first three times in the first three instances you could not access the sign-up or the registration or the activate page I’ve gone through at least six teams and it did not integrate well with any of them for various reasons some functions woodworking one theme and then other things those functions would break in new functions would work but and nothing was it completely functional… So I had WordPress installed by the it texted DMT to make sure that it was installed correctly through the admin panel MySQL which is what is required for the WordPress in order for buddypress31….
    I am aware that buddypress31 but that does not excuse the fact that there is no core development structure going on to supervise the fluid integration of buddypress31 press WordPress itself is an open source project and It suffers a similar problem…
    open source project in something like science research is incredibly useful cuz you can get hundreds of thousands of subjects to participate but it’s something like complicated software development it has serious pitfalls and downfalls to compensate for those pitfalls and downfalls there needs to be some form of structured end-user resource for immediate specific question and answer… But even before that then needs to be some kind of structured LLC hierarchy type situation that supervises the functionality of the software before it is released to the public…
    In this last paragraph I’m disgusting the business structure that applies to a successful business because that’s what I know as I mentioned in my earlier post I’m only interested in software development to the extent that it makes me money as a businessman and an entrepreneur…
    and I sincerely believe that that is the case for most people that are interested in buddypress as in casual bloggers don’t really have an interest in the social media platform per se

    I am not saying that it’s not practical to use but if it is restricting you to create user through this then the workaround can be the solution I have suggested and I think it will send a mail to the user to let him/her know that their account is created on the site.

    If you want exactly same functionality like BuddyPress registration then please check this plugin as well https://www.gravityforms.com/add-ons/user-registration/ and this is the link where they notified that it is integrated with BuddyPress https://docs.gravityforms.com/user-registration-add-on/#buddypress-integration

    Thanks

    WordPress 4.9.8
    Buddypress 3.2.0
    Ubuntu, Apache, MySQL, php
    mod_rewrite is enabled

    Fresh install. I have dropped the database a few times and reinstalled.

    This time I immediately enabled pretty permalinks ie. %post-name% and enabled user registration.
    Then I installed and activated buddypress.

    Each time the pages are created and linked in buddypress settings automatically. However navigating to them gives 404

    Not Found
    The requested URL /register/ was not found on this server.

    Apache/2.4.18 (Ubuntu) Server at sub.domain.com Port 443

    In reply to: Adding user subgroups?

    Hi,

    1. So for this, you can create groups in BuddyPress with company name, also have member type feature using this plugin https://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-member-types-pro/ and create.

    2. Create member types with the same name as your groups and they will be listed at the time of registration so one can choose to which company they belong and then you can use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-auto-group-join/ to let them auto join to the respective company groups. In this way, they will be joining their respective community group automatically when they register by choosing the member type.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Thanks

    I need to remove “username” and replace it with “email address” on the registration page.
    I’ve googled and read a bunch of support tickets, but I can’t find a solution that works. Any advice?

    Good morning!

    Recently, we have been having issues with some members registering via Buddypress. It emails them the activation link but when they click it it takes them to a page that asks for the activation code which is just contained after the /activate/ section of the URL.

    Is there a way to have the code be generated in the email for them to copy or better yet, just let the activation url activate it and not ask for a code afterwards?

    Hi,

    Please revert your homepage settings and do not set register page as homepage and then use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddy-registration-widget/ to get registration widget.

    Please try login then.

    Thanks
