ParticipantI tested this out on fresh install of BP 1.6.1 and WP 3.4.2, and they seem to be working fine. But can anyone who upgraded from BP 1.6 + WP 3.4.1 provide feedback whether their site title is fine?
I tried to make the component pages not a child page, but it doesn’t work.. the page titles always show the component name and my site name (e.g. “Members | My site Name” ) on all the pages of that particular component.
I tried to use the BP default theme and deactivated other plugins too, but that doesn’t work either.. Can anyone help me? I really need to get the page title to work.
I really appreciate it if someone can help me or give some pointers on what might cause the problem. Thank you.

ParticipantAssuming you have a similar setup…
Go into your members folder directory in your theme and open the index.php file. (Theme>members>index.php)
Look for any code that mentions a sidebar and delete it. Or if you have a full-width template, copy it and paste it into the members>index.php file (around the members directory code of course.)
Hope that helps…

Inactive@hkcharlie The Walled Garden is just a child theme I used privately and I decided to let others use it because it was a good starting point for a private community and its based on the BP Default 100%. If you look at some of the code in BP FriendPress you will see some of the same functions that was in that child theme. You will want to comment out the same code because it will cause issues by re-declaring. The area in both the child theme and plugin is well commented so it should be easy for you to locate the part you need to comment out.

ParticipantSeeing as you obviously know how to use a gun, I have run a bunch of checks on my test install.
The reason for my “white out” is because of the theme I was using “The Walled Garden”
It would appear that the plugin is now working as stated with the default theme.(I have just realised, this is also your theme : ).
However, it still doesn’t give me what I need most, the option to include streams from groups that my users are members of, which includes activity from users that they may yet be friends with.
Also, on my website I “had” implemented (and liked) the “followers” plugin that requires you to turn “friends” off.
@shawn38 I stand corrected. Please would you be able to help me in some way to achieve what I need from your plugin?
Also, could you tell me, does your plugin re-direct to the set activity stream when a user navigates to their profile via the BP links within the site, or just when they login?
PS: I loved your theme, no I am stuck.

bp-custom.php (if it exists it’ll be in the plugins folder )

ParticipantYup, I’m sure. It is from the theme. I activated the default BuddyPress theme, and it looked fine. So, I suppose I’ll just look through and try and figure out where it’s being generated from. Any ideas? lol Thanks so much for your help, and have a great day!

ModeratorAre you sure that code is from your theme file and not the default buddypress theme ?
There is something in your theme that is causing this output:
`<a href="http://stonerapproved.com/members/?s=Brandon" rel=”nofollow”>Brandon
`
Probably easiest to contact the theme creator and show them this thread. v

Participant– What theme are you using? Open up the theme’s footer.php file and check that there’s “ right before the closing “
– Change to bp-default theme and check if you see the toolbar@mercime

ParticipantThe plugin works with bp default theme, so the issue is compatibility with the Salutation theme. I know that some plugins have issues with Salutation. I suggest you contact theme author to resolve this issue.

Look at the generated code – you are creating a double href and have other issues
Can you post your source code for this page ?

ModeratorInstead of BP including a header.php sidebar.php and footer.php the plugin will only include a partial template file. So it will fit into most any WP theme.
Out of the box we must include a base layout/style to make it look ok or people will just delete and call it crap. You will not be stuck with this layout, you can override the css or use your own template files in your theme.

MemberHi,
I’m having the exact same problem. I installed Buddypress today. After installing the BP Template Pack, when you click on the links to check your pages, you still are not taken to the registration page. Your redirected to your site’s home page. This is the third such query I’ve read on your forums trying to work my way through similar forum topics and none of those threads have answered the problem as I’ve tried all the suggestions.
I checked my pages and there is actually a registration.php page created in my pages, but when I navigate to that page , it just bounces to the home page as the gentleman says above.
I have been into my Settings > Membership and checked if the “Allow Registration” is checked. It is and was checked to allow for registration before I installed Buddypress. Still nothing. As I havn’t gone through the processes of every running a wordpress based community before I’m only familiar with the Login area at the backend of WordPress. This is not an area I would want my site users to see and I’m aware that I can install whitelabel plugins to pimp that area myself but I expected that Buddypress would somehow have a front end login and registration area already wrapped up in the plugin.
Could someone please enlighten me about getting my registration link working. My site is here:
http://www.thebridesboudoir.com/
I’m WPSU not MU. I’ve followed all instructions as best I can and seem to be getting nowhere. I’ve adjusted all my template files to correspond with my current theme, it would be so nice to get the rest of Buddypress working. I’m sure it’s a great plugin and I’ve worked most of the day on forums and buddypress, but a little frustrated with the registration hiccup.
RE: Forum Installation from your links. You click and are taken to install bbPress, but then have to delete the automatically created forum.php created by Buddypress in order to install bbPress forums correctly. Later in the processes of trying to get bbPress templates tweaked to match my theme I’m told I can make Group Forums, but when I come over to the buddypress panel it states in your documentation to look for bb-config.php (or something similar) but there is no config file of any name (or nothing with the word config in it) when you look through all the bbPress package or folders after install. As a consequence I cannot now install Group Forums as I don’t know the path to the bbPress config file – it seems not to exist? I’ve used the latest version downloaded from wordpress.org for both plugins, Newly downoaded today.
Thanks for help in advance.
