Inactive@gregfielding I am sure there are sites that do not have a clickable logo but that is usually an amateur mistake, logos should always link back to home. Maybe I am wrong but if my memory serves me correct if your using the default theme then it should already be clickable and direct to home. At least my logos are clickable I just can’t remember if a had to add custom code to make it happen. Good luck!

ParticipantThanks r-a-y.
One of them things that should be easy… are there ANY websites where the logo/header doesn’t click to home (or somewhere at least).
@mercime
ParticipantThe code can be found in https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.6.1/bp-themes/bp-default/sidebar.php You could ask theme author how to add the login form code in the dynamix theme

KeymasterI see two options:
1) Use jQuery to dynamically make the `#header` clickable. If you’re using the bp-default theme, you’d have to take additional steps to omit other elements like the tab navigation and search bar from being clicked.
2) Unhook the background-image that is added dynamically via inline CSS, rewrite your header.php template and add the header image manually with `
` and then wrap an `` tag around that image so your header is clickable.
I’d probably go with option 1.

ParticipantI’m using the dynamix theme.

KeymasterYou should be able to disable the admin bar for logged-out users in the WP admin area by navigating to “Settings > BuddyPress“, then click on the “Settings” tab.
If someone really wanted to find out if you were using BuddyPress, then it would be quite simple. I would take steps to try and hide the fact you were using WordPress first, then move down the ladder to BuddyPress later on.
About notifications without the admin bar, there are some third-party plugins available like:
http://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-notifications-widget/ (a widget)With BP 1.7, we’ll be adding universal theme compatibility, so we’ll be taking some steps to try and make life without the admin bar a little easier.
@mercime
ParticipantIf you use bp-default theme, you’d find the login box in the sidebar on the front page and everywhere. You can copy the code from the sidebar and paste in on the home page of your site and add some styling.

Participant== Their sizes are 6K and 2K which seem too small, and I’m having a problem downloading them via FTP, even though they have adequate permissions. ==
The sizes are just about the same as what most installations have. Why you’re having issues downloading those images, beyond me – internet connection issues maybe at the time you were downloading the images? Have you tried changing bp-default theme and check if avatar issue is corrected.

Participant== Uploaded avatars on my site are going into their directory (wp-content/uploads/avatars/) successfully, but are not visible throughout the rest of the site. ==
WP/BP versions? What theme are you using? Have you checked if the avatars which you mentioned are going into their directory are something like e.g.:
2be8xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-bpfull.jpg
2be8xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-bpthumb.jpg
If not, is GD library installed in your shared hosting server?September 17, 2012 at 6:26 am #141858@mercime

@mercime
Participant@mahdiar those who help out here are all volunteers living in different time zones. I suggest you start a new topic where you should provide detailed information about your installation and whether you have done basic troubleshooting like changing to BP Default theme to check if issue is corrected.
September 16, 2012 at 10:12 pm #141828In reply to: how to add a link only viewable to user’s profile?
@mercime
Participant@artxx on the link to profile page, you add the code yourself https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/adding-dynamic-link-to-main-menu-item/
Or use https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-profile-menu/ if you’re using bp-default or child theme of the BP Default theme.
As for incorporating jQuery Edit in Place plugin with members’ profile pages, that’s beyond the scope of the forums. You’d either have to code it yourself and/or post it in jQuery forums or stackexchange.com where a volunteer may be available to assist you or hire a developer to do so.

ModeratorI’m seeing you’ve got a few issues and I can’t help but wander if this is because your theme isn’t using the latest scripting files (ie; hasn’t had an update) but you’ve updated BuddyPress. I may be wrong but can you confirm your setup in the other thread where I asked for it please?
September 16, 2012 at 9:56 am #141790In reply to: Problem with buddypress admin-bar.css Do i need it?
Tammie Lister
ModeratorHas your theme been updated for using the latest BuddyPress? I say this as it may have an old reference to adminbar.css which isn’t valid anymore.
Just as a note of caution though, I would never recommend moving around core files even if .css.

ModeratorAre you using the latest version of BuddyPress with the default theme? If not, then what is your set up theme wise and what version of BuddyPress?
Also, just as a check can you upload themes to your media area in WordPress?

ModeratorYou can also filter logout link. Place this in bp-custom.php or your themes functions.php
`add_filter(‘logout_url’, ‘my_filtered_logout’);
my_filtered_logout($logout_url, $redirect) { return “URL-after-logout”; }` -
