MemberThanks. WP = 3.1.2. BP = 1.5
I’ve tried everything I can, except reverting to the bp-default theme. It took me so long to get the current theme all set up for pedagoo.org that I don’t want to loose all that by reverting…or would I not?
Sorry for my general newbieness!

Participant@rizkipratama – Sounds like their is afew issues popping up with the current version of that plugin (https://buddypress.org/community/groups/creating-extending/forum/topic/buddypress-default-theme-not-showing-events/)
Your best bet would be to contact the plugin developer so that he can ensure he looks into it and include a fix in the next version. http://wp-events-plugin.com/

Participant==== this has been resolved in upcoming BP 1.6===
WP 3.3.1 Network with WPMU Domain Mapping plugin
BP 1.5.3.1
bp-custom.php – define ( ‘BP_ROOT_BLOG’, 3 );whenever default BP admin bar is disabled (or not served to not-logged-in users), the following non-existent link appears in source for all sites throughout the network:
/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/css/adminbar.css?ver=3.3.1
… this adds full 3 seconds to page loads.
also, the following appears no matter what in source of all sites:
/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/global.js
if you need help testing version 1.6, drop me a line, glad to help.

ParticipantThat will change the background of the header. Was their something else you wanted to change via CSS?
Everything else is practically the same concept, for example removing the header logo, you will want to ad “div#header h1 { display:none; }” ect. ect.
What exactly do you want to change? (you will need to be clear as their are alot of divs and other elements that make up the header)
See the codex on Child Theme’s and Stylesheets regarding where to add it. You will want to implement it into your child theme’s stylesheet. https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/

ParticipantWP/BP versions? Have you gone through basic troubleshooting like changing to bp-default theme and checking if issue is resolved?

MemberIt seems that I was placing the settings folder in the wrong place. I had it in the main folder of my theme and not in the members/single folder.
Thank you for your time. I apologize for having wasted it.

ParticipantHave you done basic troubleshooting by changing to bp-default theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress to see if issue is corrected?

@mercime
ParticipantYou mentioned in another post that you were using BP Corporate Theme. Change to bp-default theme and see if issue is corrected. If not corrected, deactivate BP/WP plugins and/or functions which deal with Activities, Activity Streams and/or Comments

January 22, 2012 at 5:42 pm #128415In reply to: How to change the sidebar width?
@mercime
ParticipantBuild a bp-default child theme. Then at the bottom of the stylesheet, add the following:
`div#sidebar {
margin-left: -352px;
width: 350px;
}div#content .padder {
margin-right: 351px;
}`January 22, 2012 at 5:30 pm #128414In reply to: Problem with the BuddyPress Profile Privacy Plugin
@mercime
ParticipantIn simple terms, you need to update your BP Corporate theme.

Memberwouldn’t that only change the background?

background-image:url(‘This-is-the-path-to-an-image-file.gif’);

@ChrisClayton
ParticipantI’m using a custom-designed theme.
If you think it might be a theme issue, have you tried reverting back to bp-default theme? Oh, and have you double checked Event managers settings to ensure their okay?
EDIT: Also, try creating a single-event.php file with a basic posts loop in it, and make sure your “event pages” in events/settings/pages is set to ‘posts’.

Member@ Chris, which theme are you using? Without buddypress, all themes work ok, and events work etc etc, as soon as I activate buddypress, the theme doesn’t show Events Manager.
I’ll put it up on EM forums, but I reckon they’ll point back to buddypress. Just a gut feeling

@ChrisClayton
Participant@gobbleoff – does buddypress work without the events plugin active?
If it does, you will need to contact the plugin developer. It’s the plugin’s job to set up the ‘relationship’ between the plugin and buddypress.You can contact them on their website – http://wp-events-plugin.com/ (they have been quite fast in responding too.)
Though, if it helps – events manager 5.0.50 seems to work fine on my bp 1.5.3.1 install.

MemberEvents work fine without Buddypress, so am tending to lean towards buddypress being the issue?

KeymasterYou’re best to contact the authors of the Events Manager plugin and ask for support. I don’t know if they provide support here, or over on WordPress.org, or somewhere else.

MemberWith very little php knowledge, i copy and pasted the wp-signup.php code (from the main wordpress folder) and replaced the bp-default themes register.php with the code.
It looks like its worked because the forms etc sit nicely on the page and actually stay in the theme.
But when clicking on the register or w.e button, it gets an error which is caused by the validation method…
Not sure if im going about this the right way?
I would just love to redirect the page to the normal wp-register lol.

Member@mercime
– WP/BP versions? WP – 3.3.1 / BP – 1.5.3.1– Are you on Windows or Linux server? Linux Server
– Have you changed to bp-default theme? Yes… I tested a few themes.
– Have you deactivated plugins except BuddyPress to isolate issue/s? I have a total of 4 Plugins active… Better RSS Widget, Black Studio TinyMCE Widget, BuddyPress, Private BuddyPress… Originally I thought it was the Private BuddyPress plugin that was causing the issue. I deactivated it and the problem continued.
Thanks for your insight.
