MemberOk thanks, I’ll try that. My hosting is with ipage so i should be able to do it through their FTP program.
Does that plugin work for buddypress including on member pages?

Participantno no no, you should upload it by using an FTP program, like FileZilla for example (it’s free).
just upload it on your root folder (which is where the files like wp-config.php and the folders wp-admin, wp-includes, and wp-content are). after that, you can use this plugin to set your favicon:https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/shockingly-simple-favicon/
It works, as I’m using it for myself.

MemberA brief update on this. Having exhausted every other debugging option I ended up duplicating the default theme folder and made my changes to the code and styles in that. The result I have exactly the same design and functionality provided by my child theme but without the bugs.
I’m going to persist with direct editing of my cloned default theme but would still be very grateful if anyone could shed some light on the issues I’ve raised earlier.
Thanks again
Tony

I don’t realy know what is your problem. What i can s&y is that my DB has the following settings
language: french
DB caracters table: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)
DB settings utf8_general_ciIf you need to use octals to translate some javascript messages, use them in your xx_XX.po file or create another xx-XX..po to translate your specific messages.
https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/translations/What you said here: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/buddypress-localization-issues/ let me think you have troubles because you use 3 different languages.
I would recommand you to test first with one language. When this works correctly, try separatly with the others. After that it would be probably better for you to use a multilingual plugin like WPML and buddypress multilingual.
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-multilingual/It’s also important for you to check all the js files, because most of them are not localized. You can do this manually from within a child theme.
Normally your visitors has nothing to do with updates. And they have nothing to care about octals.April 5, 2011 at 11:04 am #109603In reply to: Love This Tune

ParticipantIs each category e.g. Pop, Rock, Latin, etc. a buddypress group? Or did you code your own plugin for this?
The theme is just so easy on the eyes and very well structured. Nothing gets in the way.

ParticipantWhat an awesome site! If you would sell your theme, I’d buy it. ^^

@mercime
ParticipantThis is a Suffusion theme and Suffusion BP Pack issue. I’m sure that such behavior won’t appear if you deactivate Suffusion and its BP Pack. Recommend that you post this in the theme author’s support forum as the theme author knows more about how to resolve the toggle.
EDIT – I see that you posted there as well http://www.aquoid.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4864

Participant== i got the pages to show in the footer now by creating the custom menu ==
Yes, you’re supposed to create the custom menu in Appearance > Menus as I mentioned in posts above

Looks like there was a redirect for a split second to sportzmoney.xn.com or something of that sort. Where did you download the bp-columns theme? Should be from WP repo.
Change theme to bp-default to check if Pages are still redirecting to 404

r-a-y
KeymasterCheck out the
bp_activity_add()function in /bp-activity.php.Then you’ll need to add your custom activity to the dropdown select menu.
Check out the
bp_activity_type_tabsaction in /bp-themes/bp-default/activity/index.php.
Make sure your scope matches the<li>id.April 4, 2011 at 8:44 pm #109552In reply to: Default theme ad favicon
r-a-y
KeymasterI’m assuming you’ve already generated an icon. If you haven’t, you can try a site like:
http://www.favicon.cc/Next, upload your `favicon.ico` to the root of your WordPress install. (This is where files like wp-config.php reside.)
You’ll most likely need to connect to your site via FTP in order to do this.April 4, 2011 at 7:43 pm #109545@mercime

@mercime
ParticipantWhich wootheme are you using? Are you using the BP Template Pack with the WP theme or are you using their BP-compatible theme?
Did you check if the theme has “ just before closing body and html tags near bottom of footer.php file?

ParticipantRecommend that you post your question re slideshow in Custom Community theme to Themekraft Devs @svenl77 and @konradS at http://themekraft.com/forums/
April 4, 2011 at 3:08 pm #109529@mercime
ParticipantYour theme’s block of code for main navigation is from line 94 to 113 in http://pastebin.com/w0cGZvji
If you are using wp_nav_menu feature, you can easily add links to your BP Component pages in Appearances > Menu area.April 4, 2011 at 9:30 am #109520@mercime
ParticipantFOR THE TEMPLATE FILES
Open up activity/index.php (one of 13 files transfered by the template pack process to your on demand theme folder)
At top, replace
`
`with
`
`Right under that, replace heading h3 with h2
``
with
``
At the bottom of the page, replace
`
`
with
`
`Then you do this for the next 12 template files.

April 4, 2011 at 7:30 am #109516wilsontray
Memberthank you, ya the question was for new blogs… only problem I run into now is with buddypress default if thats what I pick I cant get it to be the default… I tried with buddybase and a few other themes and they all worked perfectly with that line to wp-config just cant get the default to work.
April 4, 2011 at 7:14 am #109513Hugo Ashmore
ParticipantBut ensuring a certain theme is always used for new blogs? is that the question? If so in wp-config add
`define(‘WP_DEFAULT_THEME’, ‘myCoolTheme’);`
There was also, and still is, a useful plugin for managing various default settings for new blogs, think this works up to 3.0 but not 3.1 but may be wrong:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wpmu-new-blog-defaults/April 4, 2011 at 5:22 am #109506@mercime
Participant@wilsontray With WP 3.1, you’ll find the Network Admin goodness when you click on the “Network Admin” link in topright area of your screen.
After uploading child theme of bp-default theme, you need to go to Network Admin > Themes > Themes > Choose the child theme and Network Activate
