Alright, I’ve downloaded my entire WP directory and searched for bp_members_screen_display_profile with Notepad++ Search in Files. But the only files showing hits belong to Buddypress.

How to go from here?

Hi I’m a new WP & BP user and I want to make it so that not ANYONE can register, but I could send a code or a link to certain people so they can register and make a profile. But anytime I turn off “Anyone can register” it also disables the registration page. Is there a way around this or is there a plugin I can use? Also I made a directory page for the members, but when I’m not logged in and I click on a member profile it redirects me to the home page and I’m unable to see the profile. Is there some settings I can change? The profile visibility is set for everyone…
… taking my own profile as example, on the domain/members page it shows last online 3hrs ago, but on the right sidebar is shows last active minutes ago.
Are you using a cache plugin?
If so, try clearing all caches.
But please note that you are probably referring to 2 separate items.
afaik, last online is not a BuddyPress feature, and is being added by your theme, a plugin or some custom code.
And last active is generated by BuddyPress.
So, if last active is accurate, but last online is not, then please contact the creator of that code.
Hello,
I’m trying to change something in member-header.php, but the change does not take effect.
But changes in register.php does take effect.
/wp-content/themes/socialize-child/buddypress/members/single/member-header.php
/wp-content/themes/socialize-child/buddypress/members/register.php
Thanks for help.

Hi there the site wide notice widget is not appearing in my widget lists. The other widgets appear.
The problem persists when I switch to the Twenty Fifteen theme.
Wordpress version 4.9.8
Buddypress version 3.2.0

thanks for your help
Your current registration page url ends with __trashed, so your link is still pointing to that page.
You can edit links or create custom links by going to …wp-admin > Appearance > Menus
But you cannot just replace the register page, if that is what you did.
Have you read the
modifying-the-registration-form
You can customize the layout by editing the template.
If you are using the Legacy Template pack, this is the file:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\register.php
Instead of editing core files, you can overload a template in your child theme.
Read this.
By the sounds of it you have two plugins trying to declare the same function name. Deactivate all of your plugins apart from BuddyPress, if the error remains try switching themes to 2016, if that fails then it’s custom code you’d added via function.php, bp-custom.php etc.

Sorry, no members were found.
I cannot duplicate this issue, and have tested Nouveau with several themes.
To narrow down the variables in your situation, please try deactivating other plugins.
When using the BuddyPress Nouveau template and you view your notifications, the display is messed up. The table of New/Unread notifications is shown way off to the right. Legacy does not do this – everything displays nicely within the user profile section of the screen.
I have tested with a couple of WP Themes and the same thing happens. This seems to be specific to the Nouveau template.
Is there an update for this?
Hi, Latest version of WordPress and BuddyPress, Customizr Theme. In the case of changing the BuddyPress CSS I use buddypress.css located in mychildtheme/BuddyPress/CSS and can thus still all BuddyPress items but how do I style the main wrapper CSS only when BuddyPress is active?
I have used .page.id before but I would prefer a action or …. that link it to BuddyPress and not to the page.
Many thanks
Marius
I’m using the default theme. I know the problem is from a plugin in using Youzer. I think they are not updating it, so I want to continue it on my end. I can’t see any update they mentioned on that one that might cause it not to display.
Hi Team, Great plugin, and awesome goodies to add through other plugins. I am a novice and spend 4 days no reading about all the wonderful things one can do. So based on this article:
http://buddyuser.com/buddypress-customisation-tips which consolidate many peoples excellent work I started the process to make some changes to my Buddypress installation. The changes of CSS work great and I can style any item using Chrome Inspect followed by adding the changes into mychildtheme/CSS/buddypress 2.css. Great thanks to all the various articles and snippets!!!
Where the problem comes in is when I want to change any of the xxx-loop.php. I know through Inspect that the files in mychildtheme/buddypress/members/members-loop.php are not used.
I am using the Legacy Templates latest versions of WordPress and BuddyPress.
Please give guidance on: How to get WordPress and/or BuddyPress to use these files
Marius
Hi,
With the default theme like twenty-seventeen, I do not see the case, everything looks fine there.
Please check by changing the theme if it works fine for you then certainly your current theme is having the issue.
Thanks
I’d try it on a default theme first.
Using BuddyPress 3.2 and Pro theme.
When attempting to upload a photo into a group cover photo, it seems to upload perfectly. No errors, only the success message, however, the image doesn’t show at all. It does fine for member profiles, but not groups.
Not sure what information anyone would need to help, but you can see an example at https://htl.techwatch247.com/hometowns/nashua-nh/
Groups are being used to represent towns and cities near my area.
Did you try deactivating the other plugins and switching to a WP theme such as 2016?
Thanks.
After viewing I’ll talk to the theme creators.
I have all plugins except for BuddyPress disabled and also have switched out to a basic WordPress theme again but still am not getting any sort of confirmation messages/notices when I save a new password change. I’ve checked in my BuddyPress files as well (am running the Nouveau template but have tried switching between that and Legacy to see if it would fix anything) and both have the proper code you specified in it, but nothing’s showing up.
I have tried changing a test account’s password. I changed to a basic WordPress theme and it didn’t have that message at all. Any idea where that’s located?
Have you tried changing your password on the front end?
You should see this message, usually below the header and above the tabs:
Your settings have been saved.
Screenshot is from a test site using the WP 2015 theme.

I’m trying to find a way to have a confirmation/success message appear after a user changes their password in their settings. Right now it just refreshes the page once they click “save” and we’ve had users complain that they don’t know if their password change worked or not.
I’ve tried switching WordPress themes but none of them are making any sort of confirmation message appear, so I don’t think it’s built in. Any ideas on how to add one?
Have you tried switching momentarily to a WP theme like 2016?
If you do and the problems are resolved, then you know the issue is in your theme and you should speak to the theme creators.
BuddyPress does not add a random description or social icons.
You may also want to try deactivating plugins one at a time until you identify the source of the issue.
Then you can contact the developers for that plugin.
Thank you.
My first suggestion will be to try disabling the LH Private BuddyPress, if that does not solve it you should try deactivating Youzer and BP Force Profile photo(assuming bp-custom.php) and child theme’s functions.php does not have any redirection.
Please give it a try and let me know if any of the above resolves the issue?
