Topic: BuddyPress Dev Chat –
There will be a dev chat this next week, on Wednesday 30th @ 19:00 UTC.
IRC: irc.freenode.net
Channel: #buddypress-dev
Web-based IRC client: http://java.freenode.net/?channel=buddypress-devWe’ve had very few questions for the last few sessions, which is why they haven’t happened (if nothing to talk about, there’s nothing to talk about). Post on the agenda on this thread.
Again, if you’ve got a question you aren’t sure can go in the agenda because you haven’t posted before, feel free to check with me (paul at byotos.com, Twitter, on the forums here, smoke signals, etc) or any of the other forum moderator team.
The time on some of my activities (mainly concern is messages) are off by 5 hours.
tried patching part of the core http://trac.buddypress.org/attachment/ticket/2203/2203.002.diff with that
and ended up having messages that were sent 40 years ago. Is there an easier way to adjust the time/time zone ?*note: the wordpress time zone is correct*
using latest release + wp 3.0 (but this has been happening since wpmu 2.9.2 and the one right before that)
Topic: Group Avatar issue
When I create a new group and upload an avatar everything works fine and it says the avatar was uploaded successfully, but when I click “Next Step” to finish setting up the group i get an error saying “Are you sure you would like to do this?” and the page title is “WordPress Failure Notice.” There’s also a link that says “please try again” on the page that takes me back to my home page. The group sets up fine despite this error but I want to avoid this failure notice. Any tips or help?
my site is http://www.game-hero.net if it helps.
I have wordpress 3.0, buddypress 1.2.4 and wpmu enabled. I have none of my members avatars showing up in internet explorer 8 but they show up in firefox. Does anyone know why this would be occurring?
I recently upgraded to wordpress 3.0 and buddypress 1.2.4 With the exception of missing avatars (which by some miracle I fixed) it went ok. Today I enabled wpmu so I could have a blogs section for my members. My avatars are now gone again, and my server keeps on crashing and giving a server 500 error. At this point I don’t even want the wpmu enable so I can have my website back to normal but there is no directions on how to get rid of it. Once I enabled wpmu why is it causing so many server 500 errors?
I have set up a new BuddyPress site with WP 3.0 and BP 1.2.4.1
If i create a user in wordpress backend with username a.sjogren (a dot in the username) it is accepted. The new user logs in with a.sjogren. But the handle in BuddyPress is not @a.sjogren, instead it is @a-sjogren! I think this is misleading for the user.If i allow users to register with the buddypress registrationform, no dots are allowed in the username and there is no problem.
http://cl.ly/8cc87b495b508cdbc894Is this i known issue? Workaround?
If you see at my BP handle it is @t.sjogren! Is there a setting in the system that allows dots in the handle?

. I also have to figure out why my members can’t write blogs. Whenever they click on my blogs it goes to my homepage.
