Topic: Forum Posts Not Showing Up
I am using WordPress 2.9.2 and I have just installed the latest version of BuddyPress. Everything seems to be installed correctly but I can’t get the forum to work. When I am logged in and try to post a new forum discussion, I click the “New Topic” button, type my message (title/content/tags) and then click “Post Topic,” nothing happens. Or rather, the forum seems to just refresh with the same message:
“Sorry, there were no forum topics found.”
I have tried this several times yet I can’t get any forum topics to show up. What am I doing wrong?
“Post in group forum” shows no groups to select… could that be it? I tried creating a “General Discussion Group” in the BuddyPress admin area, but that is not showing up for some reason. Is that was is causing the problem?
The website is http://www.koppfamily.net
Thanks,
kopperHas anyone had any luck with exporting cimy user extra fields ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/cimy-user-extra-fields/ ) into BuddyPress xprofile?
I have a bunch of user data that I would love to move to BuddyPress.Hi Everyone,
Can someone point me in the direction of where the developers/designers hang out? I have a small weekend project I need help with.
cheers!
Frank
Hello everyone!
I had some problems on installing buddypress so I decided to remove everything from the server and re-upload. I re-downloaded wordpress and unzipped locally and then I uploaded the folder to the server using filezilla. However I noticed that 3 files cannot be uploaded:
interface.js
pasteword.js
revisions-js.phpHow can I overcome this problem and how serious is it? thanx!
I want to ask how to put the profiles on root? willing to use latest wordpress rc3 and latest nightly build of buddy press, multisite enabled on sub-domains, what is the best and errors-free solution to get all site profiles to the format:
buddypress.com/username
Thanks in advance.
dear developers, dear community,
we do have an issue when we want to delete an account. for example, if i browse to “my account” via the buddypress top navigation and further “settings” > “delete account” everything works fine; i can set the confirmation that i understand what’s happening next, but when i click on the “delete account” button, i got a blank page.
after inspecting it, it seems that there is a 404 thrown, at least it’s in the site’s header information. so i first thought, the target url was wrong ..
urls as follows:
“account deletion confirmation”: members/tester/settings/delete-account/
“404 error” after sending on: members/tester/settings/delete-account.. but it seems to be correct.
so therefore i collected all necessary data – hoping that helps a bit:

delete-account-understand 1on a sidenote, we’re expiriencing other troubles by trying to delete that (or other) user(s) via the wordpress user management in the backend (then it’s a 500, not 404).
many thanks in advance,
chrisTopic: Mass delete blogs
if I could keep some kept before a certain date that would be great, any guidance appreciated
if you want background (worst part is, I have new registration turned off…it’s turned off – blog users can’t create their own users, but somehow I have new bot registrations) – cross-posted over at wpmu: At this point my real question is “how/can I mass delete a bunch of blogs and users?”
I have a wpmu/buddypress installation for our club and it works great, love it, but the spam/splogger problems are essentially shutting us down. I’ve been using all the techniques found over the last several months to deal with sploggers, and I get a page or two a day and it’s manageable, I have some of it automated. I generally deal with it daily and it’s no problem. Something must’ve changed in how these bots make these accounts or something, or I’m just very unlucky;
I neglected it over the long weekend and we got about 5000 sploggers and posts and there is NO way in the system that I’ve found to manage anything more than a page of 20 or so entries. I’ve covered all this in other forums and posts here to try and get this under control and I’m not here for that, that’s a loosing battle and I’m essentially done fighting it with WP. What I want to know is, can I mass delete these blogs and spammers? I went into the table directly and ran an UPDATE on all the spam bits on these users, but that’s not obviously the right way since I basically did nothing in what’s visible on the site from these users.
I found this article: http://trac.mu.wordpress.org/ticket/669
but it makes a lot of assumptions about your ability to decipher how i would modify that for my situation.
Any guidance appreciated – plug ins, can I pay someone, etc…can I do something easily to change how many users are shown on the user list pages?…anything to just get it back to where I can interact with it a couple pages at a time?…
Related to that, I’m testing 3.0rc right now and I thought that new-user moderation was going to be there, but it’s not jumping out at me? Anyone have any guidance there – I’m definitely not expending any effort into it if the spam/splogger fixes continue to be…esoteric.
Many thanks!
Topic: Facebook Login Not Showing
I have the wp-fb-connect plugin installed on my WordPress site. When I use the widget, or manually add
'Login')); ?>, the Facebook Connect button pops right up. However, on the register and login page, it won’t.. I am using the BuddyPress template pack on top of a custom theme. Any ideas?
