    Perhaps not the optimal solutions, but:

    – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/forum-attachments-for-buddypress/ allows users to attach files to forum posts, including pictures (which will then display inline).

    – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-tinymce/ *should* work to give basic bold/italic/link stuff for forum posts. I haven’t done a very good job keeping this plugin up with the latest BP developments, so please test in a development environment first.

    In IE8 at work nothing displays, just a “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”

    I changed it to the default buddypress theme and it displayed now, but it get this at the top of the screen:

    Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, ‘bp_album_screen_home’ was given in /home/me/public_html/me/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 414

    1) Linux

    2) At home Mac (Firefox, Opera, Safari), at work Windows XP (Chrome, Firefox, IE8)

    3) Same error as above.

    4) Single WordPress

    5) Do you have any other plugins running? What are they? Does it still crash when you disable them? Not at home to try.

    6) Can you please post a copy of your wp error log file. Located in the /wp-admin/er-logs/ directory. I’ll look into this when I get home

    I just tagged BuddyPress links 0.4-beta. Please test in your development environment and report any issues on this thread. Please do not post a bug unless you see the behavior with the default theme activated to rule out child theme issues.

    !!! This version upgrade updates every link entry in the database to populate a new field, so back up your data !!!

    Here are the changes for this version:

    * Initial group integration support added

    * Added profile and group sharing features

    * Create link directly from user profile and group pages

    * Moved link list update/error messages to inside the current link’s LI block

    * Added external link icon next to main link URL on the link list

    * All link list targets and rels are no longer set by default and must be explicitly set with a filter

    * All link list content is now separately filterable for finer control over URLs and content

    * Load members profile links using plugins template instead of members home action

    * Link description can be configured as optional with a constant.

    * Usability fixes to the link create/admin form (props Mike Pratt)

    * Heavy duty javascript refactoring

    Download here:

    http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/buddypress-links.0.4-beta.zip

    Enjoy!

    @kriski – If you want to add users directly to groups (skipping invitations), try https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-group-management/. It’s not great for adding in bulk yet, but I plan to add checkboxes in the next version that’ll make it easier.

    @Erich73 – Good call on the group creation issue. I think the answer is just to turn off the message for the group creation process. I’m about to check in version 0.5.2, which makes this correction. Email invitation can only be done from the normal Send Invites screen, so the confusion shouldn’t happen. Not sure about your email problem – has your friend checked the spam folder? I’m using the same wp_mail function that the rest of the BP functions use.

    @roydeanjr – Very strange about the first errors – almost makes it seem like the plugin was loading before Buddypress was. If it starts happening again, please let me know, and give me as much info about your system setup as you can so I can try to reproduce it. And thanks for the kind compliments :)

    Hello, I am trying to get my theme to work with buddy press. I can not seem to get it working with out having the sidebar appear below the content I am running the latest version of wordpress. I have also already installed and did the steps in the template extension.

    Below is what my index looks like. Which structure do I need to copy over to the the other files?

    <?php get_header(); ?>

    <div class=”span-24″ id=”contentwrap”>

    <div class=”span-16″>

    <div id=”content”>

    <?php if(is_home()) { include (TEMPLATEPATH . ‘/featured.php’); } ?>

    <?php if (have_posts()) : ?>

    <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

    <div class=”postwrap”>

    <div <?php post_class() ?> id=”post-<?php the_ID(); ?>”>

    <h2 class=”title”>” rel=”bookmark” title=”Permanent Link to <?php the_title_attribute(); ?>”><?php the_title(); ?></h2>

    <div class=”postdate”><img src=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_url’); ?>/images/date.png” /> <?php the_time(‘F jS, Y’) ?> <img src=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_url’); ?>/images/user.png” /> <?php the_author() ?> <?php if (current_user_can(‘edit_post’, $post->ID)) { ?> <img src=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_url’); ?>/images/edit.png” /> <?php edit_post_link(‘Edit’, ”, ”); } ?></div>

    <div class=”entry”>

    <?php if ( function_exists(‘has_post_thumbnail’) && has_post_thumbnail() ) { the_post_thumbnail(array(200,160), array(‘class’ => ‘alignleft post_thumbnail’)); } ?>

    <?php the_content(”); ?>

    <div class=”readmorecontent”>

    ” rel=”bookmark” title=”Permanent Link to <?php the_title_attribute(); ?>”>Read More »

    </div>

    </div>

    </div><!–/post-<?php the_ID(); ?>–>

    </div>

    <?php endwhile; ?>

    <div class=”navigation”>

    <?php if(function_exists(‘wp_pagenavi’)) { wp_pagenavi(); } else { ?>

    <div class=”alignleft”><?php next_posts_link(‘« Older Entries’) ?></div>

    <div class=”alignright”><?php previous_posts_link(‘Newer Entries »’) ?></div>

    <?php } ?>

    </div>

    <?php else : ?>

    <h2 class=”center”>Not Found</h2>

    <p class=”center”>Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.</p>

    <?php get_search_form(); ?>

    <?php endif; ?>

    </div>

    </div>

    <?php get_sidebars(); ?>

    </div>

    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    We have a test site running but I would rather not give you the URL.

    The page I cannot find is this one:

    http://testbp.org/register

    I use the standard buddypress theme and if I try to type /register it just takes me back to home page.

    Any official word on WordPress 3 support or are they waiting for final release.

    Thanks for the quick response.

    @Gene53 and @ajohnson – it sounds like you forgot to wipe-out your previous BP Album+ install before installing the new 0.1.9.1 beta.

    If you’re just joining the thread, the beta can be downloaded here:

    https://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/bp-album/branches/foxly/0.1.9.1/bp-album-BETA-0-1-9-1.zip

    Trying to install the 0.1.9.1 beta over top of an existing BP Album+ installation will cause an error.

    Although RELEASE versions of the plugin will *automatically* upgrade any previous BP Album+ version, beta versions will not. It would be far too time consuming to write an upgrade script for every beta release.

    So, to install the beta, either start with a fresh wp/bp install on your development system (we use a script for this so it takes us 5 seconds to do). Or, if you’re doing things manually:

    1) Deactivate the plugin

    2) Use phpMyAdmin to DROP the “wp_bp_album”, “wp_bp_album_albums”, and “wp_bp_album_meta” tables

    3) Delete the bp-album plugin folder

    4) (optional) Delete the “…/wp-content/blogs.dir/…/files/album/” directory

    5) Copy the new bp-album folder into the plugins directory

    6) Activate and enjoy!

    Thanks!

    /register/?

    Can’t really do anything with your problem like this.

    You don’t have the site running somewhere?

    Also, buddypress doesn’t support wordpress 3.0 yet.

    get_active_blog_for_user() is a WPMU function and includes/ms.php is a WordPress 3 file. Not sure whose to blame.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_active_blog_for_user() in /homepages/18/d95001024/htdocs/languagesocial/wp-admin/includes/ms.php on line 577

    Background:

    Installed BuddyPress 1.23 worked great on a SU install.

    However, when I tried to make it an MU directory based Buddypress install per the install steps, everything worked fine to a point.

    It prompted me to make modifications on the config.php and .htaccess file. I did.

    Also, I am using 1and1.com so made a fast additional modification to the .htaccess file:

    AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

    AddHandler x-mapp-php5 .php

    I am using wordpress 3.0 beta. But that has nothing to do with this issue as I had something similar on 2.92 + MU (and thought I would wait for 3.0) But it the same basic issue. And on the SU everything worked fine.

    I am sure I am doing something basic that is wrong. I check forums, made sure I deactivated the plug-ins and deleted all the themes except the new default theme.

    http://languagesocial.com/ is the site.

    I get an error when I try to log in under http://languagesocial.com (wp-admin)

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_active_blog_for_user() in /homepages/18/d95001024/htdocs/languagesocial/wp-admin/includes/ms.php on line 577

    Thank you
