Participanthello friends .I have a question
this plugin is not working on my wordpress page
please help me out….thanku…March 27, 2013 at 3:25 am #158716discdemo
ParticipantThx for the reply.
I must have failed to mention I had crated the page twice and toggled the reading setting a few times with no joy. It remains in this condition.I just want to assign this one page as the posts page, as I have done successfully in other wordpress sites that did not have BP.
Not sure if it’s a BP issue with this current site, or another issue.

ParticipantI’ve read this is to do with the template pack which i need at the moment
@fpats it only has to do with the template pack if you already have a BuddyPress-ready theme. It also happened in older versions of BP were not upgraded to compatible WordPress version. So what are your WP/BP versions? What theme are you using? Have you tried deactivating other plugins to see which is causing the issue (WPML perhaps?) ?March 26, 2013 at 9:21 pm #158682In reply to: Auto embed images?

Participanti don’t think using the wordpress css editor would be the way to create that file normally you would use some other text editor i typically use dreamweaver.

ParticipantEach time I assign a Blog Posts page in the Reading setting, that page is not found when accessing through the main menu
@discdemo You have to create the page first. And Settings > Reading with the blog page you created is associated with having a static front page. https://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_PageOr, if you just want a page with latest blogs listed, see http://www.nathanrice.net/blog/creating-a-blog-page-with-paging/ Note that when copy/pasting code from the article, remove the spaces between `<` and `?` as well as between `?` and `>`

ParticipantHi i changed to twenty eleven theme and deactivated Buddypress. Then reactivated it and i do not see the installation wizard link. Instead I see this:
You’ll need to activate a BuddyPress-compatible theme to take advantage of all of BuddyPress’s features. We’ve bundled a default theme, but you can always install some other compatible themes or update your existing WordPress theme. The following active BuddyPress Components do not have associated WordPress Pages: Activity Streams, Discussion Forums, User Groups, Members.

Please contact theme authorMarch 26, 2013 at 8:53 am #158390@mercime
Participant@unsalkorkmaz may I make a suggestion: please do not update your theme until it has been synced with WordPress Extend Themes. Otherwise, you’d have to wait for another 7 days max before the theme’s live at WP.org

ParticipantThanks a lot for your reply. I guess I have to try out things my self. Thanks alot I really do appreciate.

Participanti think maybe we over thinking this a bit i don’t think @somdefabrica actually mentioned modifying any core files. Generally speaking there is no reason you should be afraid to update wordpress or plugins such as buddypress. It is always a good idea to make a backup (preferably in maintenance mode) prior to any upgrade or adding a new plugin or theme, just in case you have trouble or don’t care for the results.
Is there some reason you are afraid to upgrade specifically or are you just saying that upgrades are scary, generally speaking? If that’s the case i would suggest to you that not upgrading, especially with open source software carries it’s own set of risks. Generally speaking if you don’t want to upgrade something wordpress related you should have a very specific reason.

ParticipantSorry for people that waiting, passed 7+ days from approved but theme is still waiting for WordPress.Org publish. Its probably my fault that i released some newer versions before it gets published. I cant give a date but at least theme will be in WordPress.Org soon.
Meanwhile you can check my example child-theme: http://theme.firmasite.com/example.zip
This theme;- adds Flatstrap custom style to theme style list
- selects it automatically
- removing default default bootstrap style from list.
You can edit this child-theme however you want 🙂
