A newbie here…. Installed WordPress 3.1 then grabbed BP1.2.8 and it appeared to install ok. Evidently, after clicking on activate plugin something happened. I can’t get to any of my admin screens — everything is just a blank page ( example: http://earnwhilegiving.com/blog/wp-admin/post.php?post=1&action=edit )
Am hosting with ixwebhosting and browser is Mozilla. Before installing BuddyPress I was able to access WordPress admin and play around a little.
Suggestions?

I have buddypress installed and running inside of wordpress, but am completely confused about where the sql file (or whatever other file the data lives in) for the buddypress forums is. I am currently creating a new site (different domain name) and want to move the buddypress forums section off of the old site and onto the new one. This also presents a problem backing up the forums I guess. Any ideas?
I got wordpress 3.1
Buddypress 1.2.8
Hosted under Yahoo web hosting.ARe there other stuffs I need to install or configure? BUddypress defaults enables private messaging and accepting friend requests.
When I try to create a message, or click the message link. the page redirect me to members directory.
When i try to view or edit my own profile or others profile, still redirect to members directory.
When I try to add friend. The other person receives notification. but click it will only redirect to members directory. Clicking the notification on the admin bar will just redirect to member’s directory as well
I thought things will be easy install.
this a fresh install. I installed wordpress 3.0.5 from Yahoo web hosting. Then it said new version is available i upgraded it to 3.1
Then I installed plugins. buddypress 1.2.8
use the default buddypress theme.
Yahoo saves all the files in the blog folder (wp-admin, wp-content, wp-includes).
Buddypress folder was automatically saved or installed under wp-content/plugins
By default everything is enable, private messaging, extended profile and friend connections. I didnt change any settings.
There is a link for these features on the admin bar but the messages, profiles and friend connections will just redirect me to members directory. Although the address on the link shows the proper link to messages, profiles.
All my other users are Author
here is the link http://www.irn.net.au

Topic: There is no member role…
Hi,
I am using wordpress 3.1 and buddypress 1.28 , but I can’t find member role in “New User Default Role” (General Setting). So everytime someone register into my site, they do not appear on my memberlist, can you help me?So, I tried to get around this by using the login with Ajax plugin, but now I’m getting complaints about logins locking up, etc. There’s just too many folks out there with crappy browsers, JS turned off, etc. So, I had to go back to the old login form.
Here’s the basics. What I want to do is insulate my members from going to any WordPress pages (which, by default, have a completely different look and feel than my BP site). The major concern is when a user messes up their profile or password and winds up on the “wiggling” wordpress login and password recovery page. Is there a way, other than the Ajax login, to avoid having this page pop up? Another plugin perhaps that could be styled so that the password recovery page could be made to look like the rest of the site?
I’m running a BuddyPress 1.2.8, WordPress Mu 3.1 site and a bot somehow manages to always create accounts, about 5 per day, even though account registration is disabled in /wp-admin/network/settings.php, and for each of my sites.
For example, the last account created had username “ramonlpa” and email “fidankaisageh@gmail.com”, and was not associated with any site (i.e. the site field is blank).
This has been happening for a long time. When I first found out, the bot had created 3000 accounts.
I’m also running bbPress with the WordPress Integration, so the hole might be in bbPress.
