ParticipantSo is there a possible way to have multiple buddypress networks within the same multi-site that can be accessed through a single sign-in?

ParticipantIs http://www.minesandmoney.com/portal a subsite of a multisite installation installed in domain root http://www.minesandmoney.com ? Did you define BP in /portal/ subsite or did you enable_multiblog?

KeymasterIt’s possible to run multi-network BuddyPress sites (one BP instance per network), but not one BP per multi-site.

ParticipantTry re-uploading BuddyPress manually, i.e., via FTP/File Manager/cpanel/etc. and deactivate other plugins while you resolve this issue.

@mercime
Participant– When you’re setting up BuddyPress and Group or Sitewide Forums, I suggest using the BP Default theme. After everything’s set up and running as expected, only then do you try out other themes.
– As far as Frisco theme goes, I’ve seen that the theme author has submitted new updated version in WP Theme Repo which will most probably go live (ready for public download) within a week at most.

Keymaster@chibib0 – It’s a little hidden, but you have to navigate to the blogs directory and click on the “Create” button.
If you want to hardcode a link, it should be to the URL of the blogs directory plus the /create/ slug.
eg. example.com/blogs/create/November 12, 2012 at 11:12 pm #144905In reply to: Settings template

Participant@DarkLevi Thanks so much. Worked like a charm. For anyone who encounters a similar problem in the future, remember to backup your WP before updating.

MemberHey @candeed, thanks for the compliment! I’ve worked hard to integrate BP into my theme as naturally as possible and to keep pages lightweight. However, I would definitely benefit from the advice and collaboration of someone who has more development experience. I hide it pretty well through constant research and lots of hard work, but I’m actually still a huge noob when it comes to this stuff. If you have any friends who are experienced developers and interested in ESO I would definitely like to get a chance to talk to them.

@mercime
ParticipantYou need to install/activate the BP Template Pack plugin to make any WP theme compatible with BuddyPress. Then you have to go through Appearance > BP compatibility process.
@flyj4ck Re Gonzo theme. Recently helped someone with the compatibility process and I assume it’s the same theme https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/buddypress-issue/ If you have any issues after following the instructions, post in that thread.
Please be courteous.

Participant@inakio “pretty permalinks” are REQUIRED for BP to work in your installation and there’s no way to get around this.

Participant@marutim best place to ask and search in, is at BuddyDev forums.
Notes:
1. Other than BuddyPress, you do not need to install another plugin to make @sbrajesh BP MultiNetwork.
2. This plugin requires that you have BP-ready or BP-compatible theme activated in all the sites of your multisite install. I strongly suggest that you test this in say, 3 sites first, using the bp-default theme and only BP and BP Multinetwork plugins installed.
3. Back to original statement, best place to ask is at BuddyDev forums.November 12, 2012 at 4:55 pm #144891In reply to: Activation Code after New Member Registration

ParticipantI would add that if you want better support, you might consider providing more details about what you tried and what you didn’t try to fix the problem.
Rather than tell us what is broken, tell us what you tried to resolve the situation from a CSS/code perspective.
