@mercime – because I use wordpress & buddypress, I do my best to not ever rely on anything paid. Do you happen to know of any other way, or will it be built in the future?

I have installed the plugin and it happens the same: it appears to have the option but when I tested it the policy is not enforced and even logged out users can see the private fields on my site.
Finally sorted something out.

Add the following to your edit.php file:

Fix this line to include the “<?php" before the if like so:

Back up DB and server files then re-upload BuddyPress manually. If you mean you copied the bp-default theme and made it a stand-alone theme and uploaded it to wp-content/themes/ folder then I see no issues. On the other hand, if you made changes directly to bp-default theme in wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default, then that could be the reason why you’re having these issues.

@mercime Yes I am using the template pack and had a programmer do some compatibility coding since it seemed too complicated and everything else seems fine right now except this but I did not check groups yet either.. he set it so certain files have a set width that I can change the size but I looked in the messages php files and did not see any width adjustments so i figure he must have missed this somehow.
I did choose the site wide option and unchecked “discussion forums” from the buddypress menu settings option. I also followed the instructions on the link @mercime.

@sb0n What theme are you using? Theme demo URL? need the pastebins for your theme’s header.php, index.php, sidebar.php and footer.php files. Initial scan shows that you could possibly get away with creating two files for compatibility instead of revising 16 files, but I want to see the “whole picture” first.

@yoyobestbuy if you want sitewide forums only (aka bbPress plugin) then go to dashboard menu Settings > BuddyPress > Components and uncheck “Discussion Forums” https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
Choose the site wide option
BuddyPress has bbPress so delete the extra plugin. Then go into settings > BuddyPress in the admin. Click forum tab and setup bbPress

I think the author is going to soon update it to BP 1.6 version.

There is no precedent in which Brajesh does not deliver above and beyond the call of duty. Given the complexity and volume of plugins he builds and maintains along with the many one-off coding requests, a healthy dose of latitude is advisable, imho. I guess at the right price you may find someone who will build what you want and may even maintain it as WordPress/BuddyPress constantly gets updated.

I checked his blog before posting here. I don’t think there is any development on the plugin there.
But I like how on buddypress.org you can login straight from the toolbar and it redirects to your profile.How can I do that?

Its really basic just login to your site dashboard/settings/buddypress click settings and uncheck “Show the toolbar for logged out users.”

@mercime Your seeing something I am not seeing. One minute they show up, and the next they are not showing up at all. We got a bug. I know John James Jacoby knows about it but I can’t figure out why I experience this phenomenon. Thanks guys!

I use WP Google Translate plugin on 2 sites and as @hnla says It works quite good. I just got offered $7.5 million dollars for one of my sites. Time will tell if the offer was legitimate.
