In reply to: How to install BBpress with Buddypress?
@mercime
Participant== My end goal is to not have the “group” forums, just normal forums that don’t require group access. ==
@yoyobestbuy if you want sitewide forums only (aka bbPress plugin) then go to dashboard menu Settings > BuddyPress > Components and uncheck “Discussion Forums” https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/

ModeratorBuddyPress has bbPress so delete the extra plugin. Then go into settings > BuddyPress in the admin. Click forum tab and setup bbPress

ParticipantThere is no precedent in which Brajesh does not deliver above and beyond the call of duty. Given the complexity and volume of plugins he builds and maintains along with the many one-off coding requests, a healthy dose of latitude is advisable, imho. I guess at the right price you may find someone who will build what you want and may even maintain it as WordPress/BuddyPress constantly gets updated.

ParticipantI checked his blog before posting here. I don’t think there is any development on the plugin there.

@mercime
Participant@voarsh either you’d have to learn to code this yourself
or ask WebPurify if they’d create a plugin to integrate with BuddyPress
or hire a developer to do so at https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-jobs-board/ or http://jobs.wordpress.net@mercime
Participant@ashraf something’s getting lost in translation. There’s no bganz plugin in the link you posted and guys above are already rapping.

October 2, 2012 at 4:29 pm #142861In reply to: Can’t enable forums inside BuddyPress
@mercime
ParticipantRe permissions error:
– Please post issue.when BuddyPress is installed in a network created by Networks for WP plugin at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/networks-for-wordpressRe: what the “use excisting installation” & “install group forums” differences are.
– If you have never installed Group Forums before, i.e., no bb-config.php at the root of your WP install, then you would click on “Install Group Forums” button
– Click “Use existing installation” means using the Group Forums (BP’s internal custom bbPress) which was created in BP version prior to upgrade to latest version.Re: And just in case I need to have more added to wp-config.php, this is the BP related define I have in there: define(‘BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG’, true);
– https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/bp_enable_multiblog/
At this stage, I suggest removing that from your wp-config.php until you resolve permissions issuesOctober 2, 2012 at 3:39 pm #142857GuitarAgora
Participant@mercime I have been trying to put a sidebar on members “profile” page. For instance a side bar on a page like this http://www.guitaragora.com/members/marcel/ … Does that make sense?

ParticipantHi Gordon,
I have a similar issue and have posted here https://buddypress.org/community/groups/installing-buddypress/forum/topic/new-users-profile-problem/
I still can’t get mine working but maybe one of these fixes will work for you…

Participant@mercime
thanks for your continued attention.– I have not tried reuploading/reinstalling as that might put me back in modifications (though I haven’t touched core, I sadly did not keep track of weird, off-hand alterations I might have made to the files I brought into my theme from core..not many, but you see what i mean). Seems drastic, but might be the only option at this point. Though i need to wait for that to happen at the moment.
– I installed WP manually.
– Deactivated all the plugins (even the buddypress template pack, which didn’t have any effect) and the problem still remains

Participant@mercime I got it, and I’m trying to implement your instructions. In a few days I’ll let you know if it’s all ok or if I have any issue.
Thank you! -
