Hi David, just to check can you provide a bit more information about your site? For instance what theme are you using and / or plugins? Have you checked they are all updated for BuddyPress 1.6? Or are you using a custom theme and have you updated that (if that is the case) for 1.6?

Hi Shemada, just as a check have you updated the Mingle theme to it’s 1.6 version? I see that they have released a version for BuddyPress 1.6 so wanted to check you are using it?

If you are – can you also confirm you have updated any plugins you are using along with BuddyPress?

@sobuddy, have you updated your themes and plugin / plugins you are using to make sure they are compatible with BuddyPress 1.6?

The only cases where themes for BuddyPress wouldn’t need to have BuddyPress would be if they have a check in them and say they work without BuddyPress. If you want the ‘BuddyPress functionality’ then yes you have to install BuddyPress. It sounds like you do if you say forums/members/groups.

Just as a ‘sanity check’ have you resaved your pages / relinked them up under settings > BuddyPress?

I’d also suggest you check that you’ve updated your plugins and themes to versions for BuddyPress 1.6 – or if a custom theme checked you’ve got all the correct changes in it.

It’s hard to say what has gone on exactly but lets take a look at some common things that can go wrong in upgrades.

When you say ‘not showing’ do you mean you see a white screen?

The first would be have you updated your theme and plugins (if using any)? You should always make sure both your theme and the plugins you use are updated to the version of BuddyPress – many will be issuing updated versions.

Assuming that is not your issue then do you have access to your server error logs? Can you see anything in those which may shed some light? If you do link them here please use gist (https://gist.github.com/) or something don’t add them all to this thread.

‘add_filter(‘show_admin_bar’, ‘__return_false’);` in your functions.php file to turn off fully.

Alternatively, you can use:

‘Settings > BuddyPress : Toolbar Show the Toolbar for logged out users’

You can also select to show or hide the WordPress admin bar on your own profile.

If none of those work for you then you may need to look see if your theme is forcing something.

bp_is_group_admin_screen is still in BuddyPress 1.6.

The BuddyBar has been merged with the WordPress bar in this version of BuddyPress. It actually has a lot more functionality. There is some discussion on this topic https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/how-can-i-use-old-buddypress-admin-bar-if-i-dont-want-to-use-this-new-one-in-1-6/ that may give you a few more options.

The error is reported from the buddypress-group-documents plugin. Get in contact with the plugin’s author and let them know.

Just to check, have you updated your theme to BuddyPress 1.6? Or have you made changes to your theme to reflect those in BuddyPress 1.6?

Any errors in your web server’s PHP error log? If you don’t know what that is, ask your web host to look at it for you.

After Updating buddypress, admin side throw me this error:

solution: For Version 1.6, the database version (bp-db-version in wp_options) changed to 6066, and the Trac revision was 6231.

Is there reaaly anybody from BuddyPress answering to all these questions?
It’s a shame launching a new update and NOT SUPPORTING us. Plase somebody Answer.

I have upgraded from version 1.5 to 1.6 but nothing’s working.
I decided to uninstall 1.5 and then install 1.6 but no files or option are showing after installing it through ftp since installation directly from WordPress does not work.
What’s this bug and and can I fix this?

You can enhance the WordPress menu system to support dynamic links (including BuddyPress profile links) – there is a specific filter that you need to use.

You’ll need to be a competent PHP developer, but if so, it’s relatively straightforward

@modemlooper – I stand corrected, just noticed that the profile link is the only one I am not able to add. Just ignore my ignorance on this one. Sorry for any confusion. I literally just started with BP 2 days ago.
