MemberBut I’m running BP v 1.5.4.
Speaking of which, I changed my theme to ‘BuddyPress Default 1.5.4’ (to match my BP version) and the problem was still there. Page errors on everything I tried to do in terms of interacting with the members page- next page results, sorting, searching, etc.I’m a little reluctant to upgrade to 1.5.5- the upgrade to 1.5.4 changed enough things to set me back a week or 2 with features I had to account for, and how it affected plugins that were already working. Speaking of which, any updates on the bbpress integration beyond group forums? (ie have you guys had any luck with getting sitewide forums working yet?)
If necessary, I’ll do the upgrade, but hoping you understand my reservations.

ParticipantJust might be of some help, though please note I am not a coder .
On a local site I have an image (2px by 162px) full width across a Buddypress Default Child theme.
I have a menu in the top 37px as I have disabled the bp admin bar.
the code i came up with is as follows.
`body {
background-color: #eaeaea;
background-image: url(images/headpixf.png );
background-repeat: repeat-x;
background-position: top center;
color: #555;
font-size: 12px;
font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif;
line-height: 170%;
margin: 0 auto;
max-width: auto;
width: 100%;
}
#header {
background: transparent;
-moz-border-radius-bottomleft: 10px;
-webkit-border-bottom-left-radius: 10px;
border-bottom-left-radius: 10px;
-moz-border-radius-bottomright: 10px;
-webkit-border-bottom-right-radius: 10px;
-khtml-border-radius-bottomleft: 10px;
-khtml-border-radius-bottomright: 10px;border-bottom-right-radius: 10px;
color: #fff;
-moz-box-shadow: 0 0px 5px transparent;
-webkit-box-shadow: 0 0px 5px transparent;
height: 37px;
padding-top: 25px;
position: relative;
z-index: 1000;
width: 1000px;
margin: 0 auto 90px;
}`
Good luck!

KeymasterI am pretty sure deleting this default field will cause all sorts of subtle bugs and errors throughout BuddyPress. You’ve been warned.

ParticipantHi, @landwire, thanks for you comments, I’ll update the snippet within this week. I don’t want to go off topic a lot but you could accomplish that task by AJAX: http://tomsbigbox.com/wordpress-load-more-posts-on-page-scroll/ Hope it helps! Regards

thanks n advanceMay 6, 2012 at 11:40 pm #134107In reply to: Display user role on profile page
@ChrisClayton
Participant“probably need to pass to it bp_displayed_user_id()”
@hnla is correct, you will need to use bp_displayed_user_id()
as in:
`$user_id = bp_displayed_user_id();`May 6, 2012 at 9:48 pm #134105In reply to: Install “bbPress Plugins” to BuddyPress
@mercime
ParticipantEdit History, in all probability will not work with current bbPress plugin and bbpress quotes look good for current bbPress, no guarantees though. The best place to ask about this is at bbPress forums – log in using same username and password used here.

@mercime
Participant@mariilou if registration still doesn’t work if BuddyPress and other BP plugins are deactivated, have you tried deactivate other WP plugins to see if either of those conflict with your activation email. If email doesn’t work even with all plugins deactivated, then it’s a hosting issue with WP installation. Have you contacted webhost for tech support regarding your email issues?

ParticipantBuddypress is simply? a plugin that runs on wordpress, aspects such as registration and users are managed by wordpress rather than BP.

MemberWhen deactivating Buddypress > The BuddyPress Default Theme disappears and cannot be used. If choosing the theme I want to work with, whenever I solve this problem, it still doesn’t send me any activation email.

ParticipantDeactivate BuddyPress. Is activation email sent/received if you deactivate BuddyPress?

MemberThank you very much for your fast answer.
I tried to figure out which plugins are 2.0 and which are 1.0. I somewhere read that all Plugins in the WordPress repository are 2.0? Those which are not listed in the WP repository are 1.0.
For example I tried to install these..
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress-quotes/ (This one should work fine?)
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/edit-history/ (This will be too old, right?)Thank you

KeymasterbbPress 1.0 plugins, you can’t. I mean, technically it is possible, but it’s a *huge* amount of work to reconfigure the forums to work like that. You’d be going back about two years of BuddyPress/forum integration, and it literally had a 40-step integration process.
bbPress 2.0 plugins, should work fine.
