@mercime
ParticipantBuddyDev is alive and well the last time I looked
And if I recall, there are membership levels there which allow you access to all plugins and themes. Confirm with them first.BP Mag Theme – As with other regular and premium themes, BP templates for plugins with template files included need to be updated and revised. @sbrajesh is active in providing support for the plugins one needs to use with the BP Mag theme.
You’d have to let sbrajesh know which Events plugin you want to use for BP Mag and if that BuddyPress Links 0.5 – is the premium version updated for BP 1.5

Participant@kiddie you have two options:
1) Create only 2 files – header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php and upload to server
– only thing is, the title of the page won’t be shown as seen on demo but instead will be atop content area, on the same level as the Directions link in the right sidebar of the demo.2) Revise 16 BuddyPress template files – and upload to server
– the title of the specific pages will show up just like in demo but you’d also have to update the BP template files when the BP Template Pack plugin is updatedLet me know.

Will
MemberHi @mercime – thank you for your reply.
I think I wasn’t so clear. I want to receive notifications but I wouldn’t like to be notified when someone else reply a comment where I was mentioned. That’s make sense?

E.g. @userx post a comment mentioning me. Every time someone reply HIS comment I got an notification.
I would like to be notified when someone mention me or reply an update mine but wouldn’t like to be notified when someone reply an update where I was mentioned.
Any ideas on that? Thanks!
April 20, 2012 at 4:04 pm #133312In reply to: Email notification is sent twice (or more!)
@mercime
ParticipantGo to your Settings > Notifications panel and click on “No” radio button for “A member mentions you in an update using @wceolin ” and/or “A member replies to an update or comment you’ve posted” which are set to Yes by default.
April 20, 2012 at 3:53 pm #133310@mercime
Participant@kiddie Check if your premium theme has already been “template-packed” in these forums at https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/#template-packed-wordpress-themes
If yes, then follow instructions posted therein and post here if you have issues.
If not, let us know what the name of the theme is. Then open up your theme’s header.php, copy all, paste all at pastebin.com, click submit and post the generated pastebin URI here. Do the same for your theme’s index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.php

KeymasterSome versions of BuddyPress require a specific version of WordPress. So if you’re using an old version of WordPress (you should upgrade that asap, obviously), you need to use the version of BuddyPress that last supported that version of WordPress.

modemlooper
ModeratorWhat desktop browser are you using? I couldn’t replicate the switcher not working. I’m not sure about the “cookie package” that’s not a necessity. Glad you got it worked out. Another note, I only test on default BP theme so when you venture into custom themes all plugins could break.
April 20, 2012 at 1:18 pm #133295In reply to: Loading A List of Groups
@ChrisClayton
Participant@licomic – Could you clarify what you mean by ‘bulk load’?
If you mean importing a large list of groups into BuddyPress, i don’t think their is a plugin that provides it currently.
However, you could achieve it by grabbing the list of groups and foreach of the items you could run through the groups_create_group() function… http://phpxref.ftwr.co.uk/buddypress/_functions/groups_create_group.html

MemberThanks for the fast reply.
can u suggest me the buddypress supported photo album plugins?
Thanks n AdvanceApril 20, 2012 at 12:00 pm #133292In reply to: Any one Knows about fotobook plugin?
@ChrisClayton
Participant@ashokgolusu as Fotobook is a WordPress plugin and doesn’t interact with BuddyPress specifically, you might get a better response from the WordPress forums – https://wordpress.org/tags/fotobook?forum_id=10
April 20, 2012 at 11:52 am #133291In reply to: Collapsing activity post comments?
@ChrisClayton
ParticipantIt should work…
The comment collapsing stuff is around line 1387 of global.js if you want to play around with it. try lowering the number a little (maybe 2?) and see if it works
note that it doesn’t factor in 2nd level comments (comment replies) yet – https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2587 – so if you have 100 replies to a comment, then it will show all of thoes replies.

KeymasterAs of BP 1.5 onwards, any BuddyPress component should work when set as the home page.
April 20, 2012 at 10:58 am #133283Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterIs there a reason why you don’t want to use BuddyPress’ Profile Fields? You wouldn’t have to write any code. (wp-admin BuddyPress > Profile)
April 20, 2012 at 4:43 am #133266In reply to: How private are private messages?

Participant@Chccclay there is also premium plugin, BuddyPress Message Privacy, which will give your students the ability to control who can send them private messages.

April 20, 2012 at 4:22 am #133263In reply to: How private are private messages?
@ChrisClayton
Participant@Chccclay – Theirs no admin screen to read them, however unlike passwords which are hashed, messages are readable in plain text via the database. So, to answer your question, if you have database access then yes. you can read them.

ParticipantHere is the address of all versions of BP ….
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress/download/
Hope you get better and you.April 20, 2012 at 3:36 am #133260teorourke
ParticipantHah! My fault, I stopped at the end of the first post and didn’t follow through with the second. I’ll try all that now and let you know how it works out.
April 20, 2012 at 3:28 am #133259@mercime
Participant@teorourke I know you do not have a sidebar.php in your theme. Please read the instruction above:
B. Create a BLANK sidebar-buddypress.php
Open up sidebar-buddypress.php and paste this: …..Content will be added for the BP template files to adjust the structure and not for your regular WP files.
