Can we see a screenshot of the pages tabs of your BP settings?

You need to create pages in WordPress, and then associate them under Buddypress -> Pages

I have a similar problem.
I have installed the latest Buddypress and since then my profile settings in the registration page have been reset to basic “Username” and “password”.
When I go to Profile Fields in Buddypress I can’t change any of my basic profile settings.The only option I get is to add extended profile fields.
How do I set up my basic profile fields?
Any ideas?

BuddyPress has always used bbPress; you mean to refer to version 2.0, the plugin, of bbPress. BuddyPress 1.5 and bbPress 2.0 work together just fine, and we’ll complete the integration in BuddyPress 1.6.

What “pack” are you referring to?

You might want to wait on migrating. From what I remember one of the developers when he was talking about future integration, he stated that Buddypress was going to start moving toward using BBpress and implementing its features rather than its own stand-alone forum service.

Apparently the pack is currently broken with the current WordPress version (3.2.1).. Until it’s fixed, anything we should do in the meantime?

well, I just met your post by chance and the word author attracted me to read it, as I’m myself a beginner writer, who have exactly the same combination as you describe, WordPress and buddypress
I can say all you want exactly can be done by buddypress, all that features you mentioned are built-in without any need for plugins, but for few options there is this plugin wanted:

subscribe2 ( if you don’t have already )
subscribe to comments ( like in wordpres )

for the theme, I may suggest the default theme which I use, or the new Frisco theme.
for media need, of course the new buddypress media or bp-Album

I managed to get Byddypress1.5 working for me. It is pretty sweet. Only óne thing still bugs me with Buddypress: I can only ‘network-enable’ the plugin. This means I can only configure it from the admin-network dashboard, and not from the dashboard of the site I actually want to have it running on.
Can I do something about this?

Are the emails in the spam or junk directories?

Some hosts need an extra plugin to work with wordpress mail, such as the one suggested on the following page: https://codex.buddypress.org/troubleshooting/frequently-asked-questions/

I have used https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ which has a useful debugging feature….

I’m having this problem as well. I just did a fresh install of Buddypress and I’ve tried to set up two testing accounts. The accounts register the users in my User panel, but the activation emails are not arriving and therefore the users can’t log in and use the site!

Ok i did. No more error message. but buddypress is extending past the theme’s sidebar on the right side of the page still. This one is busting my brain. Man I will compensate you through paypal if you can help me resolve this, thank you
