Moderator@Karmatosed I hate responsive themes because they are misused. You do not need it for desktop. Ever. If you use responsive css then it should give you the appropriate css based on screen size, not change the layout when you resize a browser. That is the worst UI/UX i’ve ever seen.
As for the app approach, more people access Facebook and Twitter via apps than they do browsers. The numbers dictate the slow death of the browser.

MemberI don’t believe there are many options for it. But under the Buddypress menu you should see components, and you can turn the forums on and off from there.

Moderator@Pisanojm: External blog is more of a tutorial but thank you for the rest.
@stwc: as @enderandrew said it’s still beta this list is more a guide and help than a omg panic button inducing one
All is good but lets just keep each other informed.@modemloopers / @Svenl77 can we if cool keep this to updated plugins / issues rather than a mobile discussion. To that extent please start that in forum as a thread as personally I have like others opinions on that such as looking at responsive rather than the app approach (not time for debate here though
).@Travel-Junkie: Thank you updated those plugins to show working.

Member@4ella you have the Buddypress plugin folder named 1.5-beta-1. Rename that folder to Buddypress.

InactiveNope, only the groups directory is a page, but not a single group. This topic is for compatibility issues, so please create your own topic if it’s not related. Cheers.

no one hasn’t anything to say/help? thanksAugust 4, 2011 at 8:56 am #117639stwc
Participant@ronia I have renamed BP ‘Favorite’ to ‘Bookmark’ and extended an old version of BP-Like to use with blog posts and comments and other stuff (as well as count ‘likes’ given and received per user), and used the built-in functionality in BP-Like to rename the links to ‘Thanks’.

MemberHi !
I am really intersted in your subject, and to me disabling “Friends” in the Component Setup is not enough.
I am setting up an alumni website for my school, and we would like directly everybody to benefit from the “Friends” capabilities without the operation of asking everybody to be “Friends”…with all the time that takes, and with experience, we see lot of people don’t care and never answer to that request.
I tried disabling “Friends” but then the simplest function of “fullfilling a name in the private message thing” doesn’t work anymore…between other things…So, is it possible, is there any plugin for giving everybody all the accesses for talking, writing mass messaging, create events, etc…automatically, without asking anyone to be “Friend” ?
Thank you very very much for you help !

MemberThanks very much @naijaping. I’m sorry for the very late reply… I hadn’t received one on this question for a while and thought the system would notify me when I did. I will check this plugin to see if it will work for what I need.
Thanks again

ModeratorBuddyPress Share It and BuddyPress Verified good to go with either BP versions. Though all plugins will need toy be verified with the RC 1.5.
BuddyPress Mobile is most likely going to crash and burn with 1.5 and I’m not updating it. I’m turning it into a free version of http://buddiphone.com. Good things come to those who wait.

Member1.5 isn’t even released yet. Many plugins will need to be updated, but you can’t really expect people to update those plugins until they’ve had a time to test against 1.5 for compatibility.

ParticipantThese failed for me in 1.5 beta:
Bp-Like – Failed. via @hempsworth (will be updated soon according to him)
Activity-Stream-Bump-to-top failed. via @nuprn1 (Currently Rich is not updating this, but I hope somebody does for 1.5 as this is a most useful plugin)
External blog failed. via @bowromir found here:
