Member-Boone, great, found that.
That’s odd then. Previously to 1.5, blog comments showed up in the AC, and I DON’T have multisite enabled.

Keymaster@virtuali Blog comments only show up in the activity stream if you have Multisite enabled. This is how it’s always worked.
The option to select the default avatar is in the default WP location, Dashboard > Settings > Discussion.

MemberSwitched to default theme, and yes the forum tab, and settings tab now work correctly.
However, blog comments do not show up in the AC.

MemberI have created a Test Account on My Site called Test123 with password at “Test” you are free to access it if you would like at http://savannahvideocentral.com/wp-admin
I don’t use multisite, however people using custom theme will indeed have the Forums Tab blank, because the template files in the template pack plugin aren’t there yet. I manually added the files, but, now I need to call them, which I will do sometime today.
Blank settings tab, I’m not sure why that’s happening. Probably with a theme issue.
Also, I’ve noticed that in 1.5, the option to choose the default avatar is gone, (wavatar, etc).
Blog post comments don’t seem to want to show up either, i’ll switch to default theme and report back.

ParticipantHi Paul, turning off Extended Profiles got rid of Real Names and Avatars (just need to change the CSS to remove the actual avatar placeholders) – any advice on removing the ‘Visit’ dropdown from the top right of the Buddy bar or removing the duplicate search box?

Keymasterhttps://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/group-extension-api/ is the proper way to add a new tab/page to groups.

MemberI downloaded the Mammoth-Theme from Ghostpool.
http://ghostpool.com/wordpress/?theme=mammoth
And I used this tutorial to adjust the width of the template.

Sounds like you have similar problem to @jaywalker9. Again, forum and setting screens work for me. Do you have other plugins enabled? Try turning them all off, and also testing with the BP-Default theme.
Regarding the ‘double posting of updates’; I presume you are using a custom theme. Most likely the javascript needs to be updated. Can you recreate on testbp.org or with the default theme?July 31, 2011 at 8:41 am #117245In reply to: Buddypress 1.5 Bug Reporting!

KeymasterWe always listen.
The problem *was* down to localisation of time zones. The change went in on ticket https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2779 — have a read through, and the associated forum topic.

Keymasterronia,
The current implementation is as intended, and to that aim, it works. There is an option in the wp-admin BuddyPress > Settings, “Disable activity stream commenting on blog and forum posts”, which will prevent activity stream commenting on blog and forum post activity item, which offers you a kind-of workaround to the current behaviour.July 30, 2011 at 8:15 pm #117229melmo
MemberHi, I’m also keen to know the answer to this question – I want to run BuddyPress as a client portal for a small business, so clients can log in and create an account, then communicate with staff, but they can’t message each other (or see each other’s profiles, ideally).

@mercime
Participant@cupid4 do not install beta software in live site, only in test site. But if you should decide to do so, backup DB and server files so you can revert to those if/when something goes wrong in your beta testing.

KeymasterSome of the changes you will need to make in your own theme. To start, have you turned off the BuddyPress Components that you aren’t using? Find these in wp-admin, in the BuddyPress menu, under “Settings.”

Participant@mercime okay, tried to edit the last post but everytime I click edit, it give me the page is not found, I’m updating to say I just found that BP 1.3(1.5) is out, so likely I will update to it, you said you will do that too in your comment under the announcement( that wasn’t stalking! :p ) so is there any other things to do than replacing the whole buddypress folder?

Participant@mercime so is it better to wait for BP 1.3? and if I installed the beta now, will it cause problems on a live website? I know it’s not safe for live site and all but I mean if you tried it yourself or so?

ParticipantHave you tested with the testing feature of wp-mail-smtp at the bottom of the settings screen?
If you send an email to yourself it logs the whole process, successful or otherwise. That should give a clue as to where the problem is.
If the log shows it was sent successfully did it go to a spam or trash folder?
That log could be a bit too long to post here but it could be linked to…
This seems to be a wordpress rather than buddypress issue so it might be an idea to ask on the wordpress.org forums or elsewhere such as http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/
