Participant@gunju2221 nope, it don’t go away after refresh. It happens only on the person’s activity stream who is replying to a @message. When they reply it appears underneath the original @message and this is fine. When you refresh the page this is when another message appears above the threaded comments. It’s a activity comment in reply to xxxx. Not needed!

MemberThis seems to be happening for any bbpress link. Does the buddypress, quick bbpress install work or do I need to do something in addition? I activated Multi-Site support in addition to what I wrote about above.

KeymasterYes but need custom code. Not sure if there is a plugin. It may be worth adding this as an enhancement request to https://trac.buddypress.org/.
February 19, 2011 at 2:20 am #105745In reply to: Will BP work with other themes and plugins?
Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterThis is all possible but you will need to know how to create WordPress themes/templates. If you can’t, you’ll need to hire someone.
Likewise, because of the scope and complexity of this question, you’re unlikely to get any meaningful replies. Again, you’ll need to consider hiring someone, or at least installing BuddyPress and attempting to achieve these things, one step at a time.

Participanthttps://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-groupblog/, adds a blog functionality for your groups. You would create a post “About **group** insideof it.

KeymasterSounds like you’re using an older version of WordPress.
BP 1.2.7 requires at least WP 3.0.

@mercime
ParticipantYeah, I was in midst of correcting that hopefully before you saw it. Haste made waste.
function my_adminbar_name () { global $bp; echo '<a>root_domain . '" id="admin-bar-logo">Welcome Connect</a>'; } remove_action('bp_adminbar_logo','bp_adminbar_logo'); add_action('bp_adminbar_logo','my_adminbar_name');EDIT – Works when you put this in your active theme’s functions.php file (instead of the bp-custom.php file in plugins directory as mentioned above. Thanks to @DJPaul in this post).

ParticipantWith Bp Album + you can only upload one picture at a time. Users prefer selecting batch uploading. Also, only one album per user is possible. I know that there is supposed to come the new version out which has all those features, but the release date is unsure. I am pretty certain that bp is not going away but most likely diaspora will also be around.

ModeratorBp-Privacy plugin was just released and Bp Album + works great.
In my opinion Diaspora is a flash in the pan. BP is not going away.

ModeratorFYI: I will be moving these themes out of the WordPress repo. It takes too long for BuddyPress themes to get reviewed and updated. I have a group here so you can get updates. https://buddypress.org/community/groups/citizen-kane-theme/

MemberI modified bp-groups.php as mentioned in other posts. Two steps:
1) Comment out or delete the following line (it was line 201 for me):
`bp_core_new_subnav_item( array( ‘name’ => __( ‘Home’, ‘buddypress’ ), ‘slug’ => ‘home’, ‘parent_url’ => $group_link, ‘parent_slug’ => $bp->groups->slug, ‘screen_function’ => ‘groups_screen_group_home’, ‘position’ => 10, ‘item_css_id’ => ‘home’ ) ); `2) Add the following function and call in the bp-groups file (I just stuck it at the very end):
`function redirect_to_forum() {
global $bp;$path = clean_url( $_SERVER );
$path = apply_filters( ‘bp_uri’, $path );
if (bp_is_group_home()) bp_core_redirect( apply_filters( ‘bp_uri’, $bp->bp_options_nav) );
}
add_action( ‘wp’, ‘redirect_to_forum’ );`Seems like this should be a simple toggle in the admin for a future release. I fail to see the functionality for an activity stream for a forum where people are posting activity. . .it was confusing for my users. .

ParticipantIn your WordPress backend, go to “Settings” > “General” and modify the “Site Title”. Whatever you enter there will be displayed in the adminbar.

Aritz Olabarrieta
MemberHello qprints, if I understand, you could do something like:
– Add a profile field called “Proffession” in the profile settings of buddypress.
– And in your theme, depending on the value each user has on the “Proffession” field, enqueue a css that overwrites the default css and does what it needs. Example:`
// Get Profile Field value for the $user_id specified and the field name specified
if ( xprofile_get_field_data( “Proffession” , $user_id) == “Engineer” ); {
// Enqueue the css
wp_enqueue_style (‘engineer-style’,’css/engineer.css’);
}
`Hope it helps…

KeymasterThere is a trac ticket for this and we are aware. I put a suggested fix into BuddyPress trunk but it didn’t seem to work.
