What did you use to change the slugs?
The official (and supported) way to change any slugs that doesn’t have a page associated with it, is via bp-custom.php using
define ( 'BP_FRIENDS_SLUG', 'connections' );
Did you use that or something else to change it?

I did change the url that was /forums/ to /community/ in bbPress, because that was already taken up by Buddypress, even though the forums weren’t completely set up.

I checked your with IE simulator 6 to 9 online at http://netrenderer.com/index.php and I don’t see the vertical navigation. Know that bp-default theme has a responsive layout wherein the main navigation does go vertical when viewed at smaller widths which should be taken into consideration.
@crystal-phoenix I don’t see any problem with internet explorer 9 in ‘normal’ Browser / Document mode
But if I switch (using F12 Developer Tools) to ( Document Mode: ) Quirks then the menu ( Home Activity Groups Members ) is aligned vertically…. on the left etc. ( I haven’t seen your screenshot )
Maybe something is making those ie9 browsers switch to quirks mode – but it didn’t happen to me automatically….

Hi, I have the buddypress setup, but the registeration seems like missing something on the “Profile Details” is there something for user to enter into?
When i try to register for a User account, Nothing happen, i got no email send to me (admin) and nothing send to my User email as well. Hitting the complete sign up just brings me back to site home page. Is there any other setting to be done?

@mercime Ok, thank you for letting me know, that is very helpful. Hey maybe you can help Crystal. I have seen the screen shot and the navigation is displaying vertically instead of horizontally. I am thinking its something in the `#navigation` CSS. I have checked it over with the above mentioned browsers but I do not have IE 9 so I can not replicate this behavior.
If BuddyPress is activated and if you have BP-compatible theme, then default landing page when you click on member’s link is activity. You can add code so that default landing page for member’s link is something else. See how to. Btw, what do you mean by “dashboard”? wp-admin?

2. Change the default tab opened when looking at a user’s profile (default is activity), insert the following :

In any case, just so we’re on the same page and to move this discussion forward, open up your theme’s updated header.php, copy code, and paste code in pastebin.com, click submit, then post the generated pastebin.com URI here. Do the same for your theme’s updated sidebar.php, footer.php, index.php and page.php

@dude this keeps happening to people and i’m thinking its because sites have been hacked. Nobody has ever come up with a solution. I cant replicate it to find one. It’s probably a hacked site, if it’s not the browser saving info.
Might be a malicious plugin.
What you want is not currently possible with BuddyPress. You can only block an entire page not individual activity items.
The plugin works as advertised, it does not block group activities.

Hope someone can help me out. My BuddyPress works perfectly . Everything works fine. Except the reply on my Activity stream. I am able to make new comment or new post on the Activity (mysitie.com/activity/) . But whenever i reply to a comment . it responds. to 404 page. (mysite.com/activity/reply) .
what i have done so far:
edited my bp-activity-template.php ; line 1797 ( ` return apply_filters( ‘bp_get_activity_comment_form_action’, home_url( bp_get_activity_root_slug() . ‘/reply/’ ) );
} `. )
my .htaccess file works fine.
I have upgraded and used version 1.2 – 1.5.4
all gave the same response whenever i reply a comment on my activity stream. ( 404 error Page Not found.)

hello all,
i am trying to add a component on top of buddypress and i am using the skeleton component; i would like to store the information in a custom table, instead of postmeta.
i thought that all that was needed was to modify the loader.php file – and increase the DB version:
define ( ‘BP_EXAMPLE_DB_VERSION’, ‘2’ );
then go to the admin panel and refresh/re-load the plugin.
does anyone know what needs to be done to add the original table?
Would love for people to be able to attach images to a forum post on my website. Are their plans to integrate this into buddypress? or does anyone know of any plugins that offer this?

My BuddyPress, a bp-default child theme, has not been updated for version BP 1.5
Compare the header.php of the My BuddyPress” theme to that of bp-default theme’s header.php where the old links in My BuddyPress have not been updated, among other things.

Did you make sure you updated the pages in dashboard/buddypress/pages? Click on the dropdown menu and select the appropriate pages and save it? If not then that may be the issue.
To be fair, I don’t know if I’ve asked this here before – although I think it was on the main wordpress support forum instead (under any cercumstances I haven’t gotten a reply yet and it was over a week ago that I posted it).
I have a problem with the menu. First of all it’s really wierd – both the English links are there as well as the Danish (that I’ve created), even though the English pages don’t exist (probably makes most sense if you see the site for yourself: )

I thought that I could fix this odd problem by just creating a custom menu instead, but it won’t show up (yes, I have saved it as my primary navigation and deleted my cache and checked the site on multiple computers and in different browsers).
I use wordpress 3.3.1, buddypress and the theme called “my buddypress 1.0”.
Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong – and how to fix it?

Also I am not having some of the other problems as I have fixed them but I have a problem as some of the stuff will not fit on the site.
You could start off with https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-group-reviews/ then have to add on the codes for the additional functions that you require, or hire a developer to do so.
WP/BP versions? I’ve seen this happen with an old custom theme which was not updated for latest WP/BP versions. Have you done basic troubleshooting like changing to bp-default theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress?
@videogamerznet no problem. Where did you download your Arras theme – site URL? There are different sites which do that and I want to know which version you have activated.

Not clear what you mean. Can you elaborate further?

If you already have users before installing BuddyPress, they need to log in at least once after the BP installation so they will be “recognized/recorded” and listed in Members Directory.
