Participant@afritech I meant ‘delete’ a user rather than mark them as spammer does that not instantly halt them?
@djpaul Actually delete from adminbar – Admin-Options works fine on 1.2..5.2 so it must have been an earlier version that had issues or it manifests under certain conditions which aren’t occurring at present -if that’s so and I catch it I’ll add a ticket.
edit/ On 2.9.2 /1.2.5 it threw an error but haven’t really time to establish whether that is due to the modified install or 1.2.5 rather than 1.2.5.2 or some plugin interaction.September 5, 2010 at 9:51 am #91594In reply to: Multisite URLs UNDER Buddypress Scheme?

ParticipantFirstly, to put profilt to root directory : define ( ‘BP_ENABLE_ROOT_PROFILES’, true );
This will get the the url of http://mydomain.com/username
Secondly, multisite issue. Go to Dashboard/Super Admin/Sites/Edit/Permalink Structure
there you’ll see the annoying “blog/” structure. edit it. That’s all.
Thirdly, the problem– What if somebody in your network create a blog “cat”, and your root blog have a category of “cat” ? No solution for this yet, wait WP 3.0.2September 5, 2010 at 9:14 am #91593In reply to: Multisite URLs UNDER Buddypress Scheme?

KeymasterIt’s a really tough question. And tough questions involve tough answers, and if someone who is reading doesn’t know or hasn’t done such a thing before, the likelihood of someone volunteering an hour of their own time to work out a solution is slim. I’ve replied to your more recent post, but I don’t know how this could be done.

When I delete a user it says: Error, try again later. The user is still logged in and can still post.@hnla
From the WP backend, marking the user as blocked doesn’t help either.I was a bit cautious about deleting the account from the WP-back end, since I want the e-mail address blacklisted as well and I did read here on the forums that it may mess the PM routing – Users getting messages not meant for them.

Keymaster@hnla if the “admin options” buddybar dropdown “delete user” doesn’t work on the 1.2 branch, file a ticket and I’ll fix it.

Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterNo idea. Certainly is going to involve hacking something somewhere. I was going to suggest that you try changing the permalink_structure option (or filter $wp_rewrite) but, even if that worked, you’d still need to be be able to dynamically put the username into it, and then perhaps other links in BuddyPress might break (not sure).
I think a solution would involve changing the WP_HOME option or constant on a per-site basis. Off the top of my head I can’t think up a way of grabbing a sites’ “username” earlier enough to be able to then edit WP_HOME.

Participant@thekmen in the buddypress-followers plugin “_inc/templates/members/single/followers.php” and following.php is the links that I would like to change “bp_members_pagination_links()”
Edit
I found a short term solution as you have suggested. WIl keep checking to get the ajax working.

ParticipantBrajesh at Buddydev is developing bp-chat. From some bits & pieces around the forums, it sounds like it will be something very similar to cometchat, but a free plugin.
See here for example: http://buddydev.com/forums/topic/bp-chat-1

ParticipantI suggested this to BuddyPress Profile Privacy’s Jeff Farthing. A “let admin decide” option could have a radio button field for verified and unverified. I wish it would be available in a new update.

@mercime
Participant“The theme issues are not solved.”
bp-default theme out of the box with BuddyPress plus adding a header image would be like in testbp.org
Deactivate all plugins including qTranslate and leave only BuddyPress plugin activated with bp-default theme. If bp adminbar is still bad, recommend reinstallation of WP and BP from scratch.September 4, 2010 at 10:51 pm #91565@mercime
Participant@sakarya P.S. you could also post at https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-jobs-board/
September 4, 2010 at 10:49 pm #91564@mercime
Participant@hnla thanks, didn’t see that.
Actually this could be a case of plugin like qTranslate which hooks into bp adminbar because similar issue happening in this other topic.

@mercime
Participant“the buddypress links show either as blue links in a tree on a white page”
Based on search in this site, there have been issues with the qTranslate plugin, Since the plugin also hooks onto the bp adminbar, it could have caused your links to appear without any styling. Did you follow the instruction to delete code line for qTranslate to play nice with BuddyPress? https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-qtranslate/September 4, 2010 at 9:57 pm #91557In reply to: Even default theme not working.

ParticipantThx for help.
First its a single site. I already have permalinks set to day and name. Works fine.
If i deactivate BuddyPress, theme ist alright. (All themes that are not for buddypress, that i tested at least) I tried BuddyPress with qTranslate and qTranslate deactivated. Image uploaded to a post shows up without problems.Do you have any other ideas what might be causing the issue? I am totally clueless right now.

ParticipantI, too, commented and voted it up.
BuddyPress integration is currently ranked as the 8th most voted for suggestion.
Obviously, more votes will help persuade the Janrain developers that such an integration is worth their time, so, please do comment and vote if you want to see this happen.

ParticipantNot interested in a feature like this to be premium. BuddyPress is a free social networking software, if it wasn’t then I would certainly buy that premium feature.
