I have tried all ways mentioned above.. added the Mail-From and wp-mail-smtp plugin and it still doesn’t work at all. It just bring me back to the home page without any successful registration complete message…
What can be wrong?
Honestly I searched for Social Networks CMS ( EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF) Unless you feel like paying 200 bucks for a program or a download link buddypress is the way to go..
Buddypress is very simple to edit and change…
As far as Privacy settings go.. yeah I know buddypress lacks that but it’s REALLY easy to create your own type of plugin to handle the privacy settings, or even script it in.
At times you don’t get a reply, but other times you do. When I did get a reply it helped out a lot.
Perhaps learn some PHP or how Buddypress and WordPress works.
Or just download Elgg and let me know how well that goes.

Thanks for the link. I installed the Mail From Plugin. But still the same, No email was sent after registration is done…. Nothing happen, it just goes back to Home Page after Sign Complete, No message to tell user what to do next….

Hi, seeing a very weird issue on my BP site.
My account there has username “Alex Weber” and handle @alex-weber … after updating BP, all references to bp_loggedin_user_domain() correctly return http://mysite.com/members/alex-weber/ … but that page 404s! Specifically, I get a WordPress “Page Not Found” message.
After poking around a bit, I found that I was able to view other users’ profiles just fine, only mine seems to have this error. Furthermore, I *am* able to view my profile, but only if I edit the URL to be:
http://mysite.com/members/Alex%20Weber/profile (or whatever).
In short, I cannot access my profile at my “slug”, but can access it if I replace the slug with my login name.
Any ideas why this might be happening or where I can turn for further troubleshooting?

@czz Scratch that. I dug around the plugin’s Google Code project page and found the exact instructions I was looking for 
. But now I’ve got another question (of course), how did you make the image details appear beneath each thumbnail?
– WP/BP versions?
WP 3.3.1 / BP 1.5.4
– WP Installed in root.
– WP Multisite = Subdirectory.
– Windows or Linux server? Not sure.
– Is this a new installation or an old one where you recently installed BP? I recentley installed buddy press on an old one.
– Check folder permissions via CHMOD, what are they?
Not sure which folders to check.
– What other plugins are activated in your secondary site with BP?
The primary site has quite a few plugins. As far I know I have to activate them as “Network activated” for them to work So i suppose the ones that are on the primary are also active on the secondary.

– On the primary site i’m using Block by Organic themes. On the secondary i’m using Angus by epicthemes.
@czz, I’m currently using the BP-Album plugin (I believe it was formerly BP-Album+). The stable release though, not the more recent beta.
I followed your instructions. I have the latest downloads of Buddypress, WordPress, and BBpress. I am using the Salutation Theme. I inactivated all plugins with the exception of the Buddypress and used the default theme. The multiple users still show in the member directory, but only one user is registered.
Hope this is enough information this time.
BuddyPress works quite well except for User registration moderation. I used to work with theme-my-login in order to keep user ‘pending’ until admin approval. I can’t find a way to keep it running. New user immediately receive e-mail with a activation key regardless of admin opinion.
If I uncheck ‘anyone can register’ then people cannot apply. If I check it then I have no control. Is there a meedle term where admin could moderate registration ?
I use BuddyPress and Private BuddyPress.

To make your WP theme compatible with BuddyPress, you need to install and activate the BP Template Pack plugin and then go through Appearance > BP Compatibility https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/

I am supposed to be able to see it on the front end. Is the front end on the front of the website? Anyway I do not see anything different. Could my theme be incapable. I have the most basic wordpress theme.
I fill out the registration page click submit the blinks like its registering and it goes back to the Create An Account page with fields still filled in the registration page. It does nothing. Running WordPress 3.3.1 and latest Buddypress. The anyone can register box is checked. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi czz – that site looks great! I’m actually in the process of building something similar, well, I’m building a broader site but I’m hoping to include photo sharing features/aspects. I noticed that you did something on your “Random Photos” page that I’ve been struggling with. Would you mind explaining how you got the images to show up in a grid-like fashion rather than as a list like the standard BuddyPress activity feed?
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

I’m looking for a (preferrably free) plugin that will allow users to upload they own image galleries. I’ve found this one:

However, I really think this problem needs to be addressed. It was first raised over 2 months ago, with the last reply by @JohnJamesJacoby a month ago. It’s so bleeping impractical to have to wade through all the posts. I’ve posted my issue, but what a waste to have to do that if it’s already been resolved elsewhere.
I truly appreciate BuddyPress, but really can’t make much use of it as long as this is an issue. It would also be good to have paid support available. (And yes, I did post all this on the feedback forum.)

I made it a multisite and added another secondary site. In this secondary site which is erauniversity.com I would like to make a Buddypress site so college students can make profiles and interact etc.
I’m concerned that when I network install the buddypress on the erauniversity.com it will effect the main site in some way.
What is the best way to avoid buddypress changing my main site?

Logging in from the Admin Bar I’m getting a redirect from subsites back to main site when I try to log in from : http://www.microglobalscope.org/okinawa/
to
http://www.microglobalscope.org/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.microglobalscope.org
When I log in I end up on the mainsite

I have no idea how I can fix this. Things I’ve tried:
deleting my cookies
@define(‘ADMIN_COOKIE_PATH’, ‘/’);
Turn off all my plugs (only works when BP is off in both 1.2.9 and 1.5.4)
Clean installs of WP and BP and WPMU, New Databases, .htacess present/removed, caches on/off I’ve put about 16 hours into it, and I still can’t find a solution.
Any suggestions?
When trying to make a group for the extended profiles in buddypress I get this error message.
“There was an error saving the group. Please try again”
I’m running buddypress on a secondary site via MultiSite btw.
The secondary site is set to be the main buddypress location could this
be an issue with the database?
