KeymasterI currently develop BuddyPress locally using Windows IIS7 and PHP 5.3; haven’t experienced these issues at all, but it’s possible a combination of .htaccess and web.config files might be gumming something up.
Not sure if this is helpful, but this is currently the web.config that I’m using.

ParticipantThere are tons of different code edits in here. I am wondering which I should use for buddypress with multisite wordpress 3.0 and where to put it. I made my own bp-custom.php file, but it doesn’t seem to work. Is this file suppose to exist already? And if so it didn’t appear on my installation. :p At least not in the path wp-content/.
Thanks for your help.

ParticipantHi Ray,
Thanks for the advice – but I’ve tried reinstalling Buddypress about 10 times.
Buddypress is just not installing properly, as new registrants are not able to sign-up
This is so frustrating because I have 10,000 members on this site – and growing (but not now)

MemberHey no problem. I specifically left out blogs and forum type links because not every site has those enabled for users. Glad you found it easy to customize. Thanks for giving it a try!

ParticipantHi Paul,
Your suggestion lets me login, but when I am in the dashboard, I get the same
message about Buddypress being deactivated due to missing file. When I try to Network Active, there is a “too long” delay, then I see this link in
the address bar:
“http://networkingpeople.biz/wp-admin/plugins.php?activate=true&plugin_status=all&paged=1”I realized too, that the site is not allowing new registrants. I just get a white page when
I try to register.Ugh!! And I have 10,000 members on my site!

MemberOk, the page navigation links work such as “groups” “activity” etc…
What isn’t working is in my admin bar at the top, I can’t go to like profile, or edit profile, and such. It takes me back the the root page of the site every time.My setup is on a fresh install of wordpress 3.0 with networking enabled, the only plugins I am running are BuddyPress and since I am having the problem, maintenance mode. My hosting is done through http://www.site5.com
My WP 3.0 install is in the root directory of my public_html folder.
website is http://www.redsfancentral.com

KeymasterSilly question, but you do have BuddyPress activated on your site right? This is one of the first things that is fired when you have BP activated.
*Edit – Paul, you’re one step ahead of me!

KeymasterIs the main BuddyPress plugin active? Which version are you using?
@johnjamesjacoby We probably need to update Template Pack to check it works ok with the current point release, but as far as I know it still should work.

Saw your ticket on Trac. Can you give some more info on your setup? What kind of file (jpeg, gif, png, etc)? PHP version? Windows or Linux server? Browser/browser version? There is what seems to be a similar/related report of this issue here (https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/ie8-cant-crop-avatar-last-step-of-registration-for-buddypress-1-2-5/) using IE8. -
