Participant& I’m with @gregfielding here, we absolutely need a custom background for group pages. Why don’t you use the perfect add_custom_background(); for wp 3.0, just translate it to work from the frontend?

ParticipantLooking for kind of similar solution, but i dont think that there is any such plugin.
For such purpose there must be some custom functionality, or multiple buddypress plugin installation,
don’t know that i can be possible or not, but seems to be a solution.July 12, 2010 at 5:54 am #85217In reply to: page not found errors

What version of IIS is your host running?r-a-y
KeymasterI re-read your post. There have been noted problems with IIS and BuddyPress.
Here are some solutions you can try:

KeymasterThis issue is addressed in the newer releases of BP.
Please use the latest release and report back.July 12, 2010 at 3:58 am #85200In reply to: oEmbed for BuddyPress plugin – out now!

KeymasterI’ve mentioned this before. The only reason I haven’t really thought about adding xprofile support is due to the lack of a way to remove the cached data from the DB if one decides to change an xprofile field. There’s probably an intelligent way to do this, but I haven’t thought of it yet.
Locking thread. The post directly above mentions the new home for discussing the plugin.

ParticipantOk, so I dug up a trac ticket on this and it’s be regulated to the PLUGIN category and not actionable -at least for a long time…
https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2244Any MYSQL wizards out there willing to look into this plugin for BP?

Memberi can confirm @chephzpj the problem with the usernames in buddypress and facebook were solved. If you are having problems with user redirects to homepage then go to the plugin options page and under “debug” uncheck “disable buddypress filters” and it should work like a charm!

Participant@hnla – I just went ahead and built it from scratch. When I am done, I’ll bundle it up and make it available for the community.

Participant@hnla – I use FireBug, but am looking to grab the enite CSS block that defines the forums & group forum display so I can just drop it in my custom.css in my child theme and adjust colors, spacing, etc. The firebug method forces me to rebuild something that must surely exist elsewhere already.

MemberI experienced the same issue as @shaunmacrae. I’m assuming /plugins/bp-custom.php is loaded before /plugins/buddypress/bp-groups/bp-groups-classes.php. So, I put my new class in /plugins/bp-group-project-ext.php and added the following to /plugins/bp-custom.php:
function group_project_plugin_init() {
require( dirname( __FILE__ ) . ‘/bp-group-project-ext.php’ );
}
add_action( ‘bp_init’, ‘group_project_plugin_init’ );This works, but I’m not sure if it’s the appropriate or most elegant solution.

Participant1 – WP Version 3.0, BP version 1.2.5.2
2 – I cannot locate an .htaccess file anywhere. I did some reading online and found that the .htaccess file doesnt exist unless needed by wordpress for permalinks? If this is the case perhapos the godaddy permissions are not allowing this file to be created? If thats true, I can call godaddy and ask them about this, unless you know how to enable this functionality?
3 – Theme – Standard BP Theme | Plugins: A lot, but I had tried disabling them and getting the same error. Here is the list: Add Logo to Admin, Akismet (disabled), AWPCP, BP Events (Disabled), BuddyPress, BuddyPress Community Stats, Email Login,
Fast and Secure Contact Form, Google XML Sitemaps, Jet Event System for BuddyPress (Disabled), Members Only, Secure WordPress,
SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam, Welcome Pack, WP-Mail-SMTP
4 – Godaddy, shared, Windows ( ica change off of windows if needed, this is not critical for me)July 11, 2010 at 7:03 pm #85159In reply to: New Groupblog Plugin

ParticipantHow is the groupblog different from the buddypress group posting output? A blog posts updates to the top of the page, and so does bp group. Please clarify the differences. I am not sure I want to engage the group blog with a new url, unless there are distinct advantages over the bp group discussion layout.
Thanks,
David
