Is there a common buddypress way for support of multi-valued profile fields?
For example, how could I support an attribute `colors_i_like` with
values a subset of `{‘red’, ‘green’, ‘blue’, ‘yellow’}`?I’m a BP newbie just getting my feet wet in this awesome piece of software!
I installed the Platform theme of PageLines and installed the Buddypress plugin as well. Now, if I go to the pages of Buddypress on my website, the Sidebar is pushed down. It’s being showed underneath the content of Buddypress. Check http://www.voetbalspecialisten.nl/community/leden/ for example and you’ll know what I mean.
How can I fix this?

Topic: Member Age Display
I am using buddypress and s2member (free version) to create an online dating website. While I am able to get the date of birth to display, I am not able to get the profile page to display the person’s/user’s age. This will be an essential search feature. This plugin appears to be exactly what I’m looking for, just need to understand how to do this. Please keep in mind that I am not a developer. Also, s2member free version will not allow me to create a pulldown menu for the date of birth so I am using the Buddypress profile feature to do this.
I am trying to uninstall the group forums an keep only the site-wide forums. But the Group Forums Comes up all the time.
I have uninstalled it from the Buddypress>forums page plenty of times. Still Group Forum does not dissapear.

I’ve just installed Buddypress on my site. I’ve followed the instructions upto step 3.
Now I downloaded the index.php from the activity folder and changed the HTML structure to match my theme’s structure. I reuploaded and refreshed the activity page, however the change is not visible.
Also when I look at the code the change is not visible. I hope I’m making the changes to the right file.
I’m working on the following path

Hello,just have one problem with my buddypress site.I have custom community 1.8.2. theme.When I write post like this in group ,there is no view and delete links.I can’t delete posts I write.Did I miss something in options or is a bug problem?
When the plugin WP Example Content is activated, the BuddyPress admin disappears! I was totally puzzled after installing BP that there was no BP admin menu. I had to work through all my plugins until I deactivated the totally innocent looking WP Example Contet .. then the BP Admin menu appeared. Not sure if this is a ‘bug’, but it’s a conflict, to be sure. thanks! I’m working in most recent version of BP and WP.

Okay, so, I’ve installed WP and BP successfully. I’ve worked with WP for some time now, so I understand about creating templates, mods, plugins, etc. But I’m kind of new to BP. So I came to ask for help…
I have BP installed with the plugin BuddyPress Registration Groups, which is ideal. Now, in BP, I’ve created a separate group of Extended Profile Fields, as is allowed in BP. It’s a great design for what I need, but I have an issue that perhaps someone else has solved and I have not been able to find (after exhausting search options…).
So, let me set the scene:
In my Ext Profile Fields, I have these two groups. The first group of fields is the standard Name, Sex, Location info. And in another group, I have individual information, such as questions I am asking about that person, like hair and eye color.
What I am trying to accomplish is this:
A new user comes to the site, goes in to register, and finds these fields. The stuff on the left of the registration page asks for e-mail and username, etc. Under that, I have (modded) the BuddyPress Registration Groups to be a dropdown box of the different groups I have created in WP. Now, when said user selects a specific group, let’s say “Adult Male”, the fields on the right (which starts with the Name, Sex, Location fields) should also “append” the other group below it. It could be AJAX, or it could be a complete page reload, which I agree, might just be aggravating enough for someone that just filled out the other bits of information. So, without saying, AJAX is preferred.So, the big question here is, “How do I tie the Member Groups of WP, to the Extended Profile Field Groups of BP?
Would anyone happen to know of something that currently does this, and only this? Or is there a feature I am missing here that should blatantly stand out and kick me in the head?

Anyway, I’ve also noticed that an activity stream entry (originating from the original blog it was posted to) is being made each and every time a post is updated. Is that an activity type (something other than `new_blog_post`) that I can block (coming from ALL blogs)?
