ParticipantI’m experiencing similar problems. I have BuddyPress working quite well on the Atahualpa theme at http://waterwaywatch.org but whilst I can get a list of members, clicking on a member’s profile gets me re-directed to About/Home.
As insisted upon when I first linked in BP, Permalinks is set to something other than Default. I have tried all of the non-default options and they don’t solve the problem.
Very frustrating!

ParticipantOur forum thread favorites are still there and accessible from the old site (https://buddypress.org/forums/profile/stwc/favorites for example) (and public for all users, which I just realized). Pleasecan we have a return of an ‘Add to Favorites’ button for forum threads?

Participant@el_terko Gee, I was looking for this post, had it as a favourite but when bp.org was redesigned, it misteriously “vanished” (together with all my other favourites)…
They’re still there, but it’s incredibly annoying not to be able to add new ones. Here: https://buddypress.org/forums/profile/el_terko/favorites

MemberBut why is it so hard to just get a ‘Forum’? I mean the first thing which comes in to 95% people’s minds is a proper stand alone forum where people can come, post and go. Why has Buddypress made things so complicated. Not trying to put down anyone, of course buddypress is one of the bestest things I have found for my website, but it isnt complete without a standalone forum.
I CAN use an external bbpress install, but even there, bbpress screws me up by not letting me integrate into my WP theme without some circus being done (which i am totally not familiar with).
@ WP team
Please get a proper forum functionality into Buddypress or make bbpress a plugin for WP so that it can fit into the WP theme itself, which will save people from many hassles.Just my opinion. Thanks.

MemberI’ve got the same problem. Did you manage to find a solution?
I’ve created a custom theme and have no ajax.
My theme has always been in wp-content/themes. I thought maybe I should move it to buddypress/bp-themes, but this didn’t make a difference.
I copied the _inc folder from the default theme and added a link to global.js
This enables ajax it seems – BUT the data returned is empty. What am I missing?
Thanks in advance

KeymasterBuddyPress does not work with the default, out-of-the-box permalink style from WordPress (not WPMU). Full stop.

Participant@francescolaffi uploading pics from mobile is pretty standard, whether it’s just an email address they get sent to, that would be quite helpful. People take pics on their cell phones now, why not be able to upload them on location? Viewing them on a cell is a dif story.
My main question is:
What features does Gallery have that BPAlbum+ is not planning on developing over the next two months? Also, @techguy strongly agree with this, group albums totally critical here

MemberIn wordpress, I have set my Permalinks to
/%category%/%postname%/Would that have any effect on my buddypress as well? How do I fix it though?

I cant really change the permalinks settings now as it will generate hundreds of 404 errors from search engines.May 6, 2010 at 3:37 am #76868In reply to: fyi: WP-reCAPTCHA works fine with BuddyPress

ParticipantHi r-a-y — would you be interested in posting your validation function code? (pastebin it perhaps?)
Just want to avoid reinventing the wheel. I also found a plugin in bpdev that appears to be doing this, as well, even down to adapting the existing WPMU recaptcha plugin, but it doesn’t seem to work / was never finished. I haven’t worked out just why yet, however.

http://bp-dev.org/download/You active bpdev-core and then bpdev-nospam.

ParticipantKailas,
You can change the main page under Settings–>Reading Then choose “static page” and select the page from the drop down that you want to be the home page. You might need to create a page you want to be the home page first. If you don’t want a home page, then you’ll need to create your own theme. This page will get you started: https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/ but will require some knowledge of coding.

Participant@Jeff: Thanks for the help. I deactivated all plugins, upgraded BuddyPress, and reactivated plugins. It’s working fine now.
BTW, I am trying to setup my BuddyPress home page using Appearance->Widgets but I do see only Sidebar to play with. How do I put stuff on the main page?
Thanks
